Hey Stavros, good evening from Brazil. I've met your channel by chance and I've been loving it so far, you're a great man and I'm now a big fan of yours. Seeing you talk so passionate about trucks and other commercial vehicles made me recall my late grandfather, he used to haul oxygen and other gasses back in the 70s in a T-cab Scania 111s 300hp 1110nm 11 litre inline 6, here in Brazil we call it "Jacaré" or Alligator in English, absolute beast of back in the day. Keep up the wonderful work and I hope to meet you in person someday.
The problem with adding all these safety features is that it kills the payload capacity. The highest payload on a 3.5t version is only 1300kgs which is a bit brutal tbh. The one to go for is a 130ps rwd which has just under 1200kgs payload but will tow another 3500kgs behind like an Iveco Daily. And still only needs a B+E licence.
Goodmorning Stavros! Nice video, it's always great to start my sundays like this with a cup of coffee. 👍🏻 Only one question. Is there a differents between this MAN and The Volkswagen crafter? Keep up the good work mate
Frits Driessen the only difference is the badge just like for example opel/Vauxhall movano. That’s a Renault trafic with a opel/Vauxhall badge on it. Infotainment, drivetrain everything else is from a Renault trafic
I Use the 3.180 Auto Commercial Service. On My Second Van Now My Firm parts them out at 100 k . mine was Great up to 93 k then the Turbo failed wasteGate Actuator Fault . But to that Point Perfect. The Auto is Just a Slush box.. Drives Fine. The Auto Fly's .
Reengineered? It's a Crafter with a Lion on it. Or the VW is a MAN with a VW logo on it.. MAN is owned by VW Group so that shouldn't come as a surprise.
I have a VW Crafter and that's an absolutely lovely to drive. there was crafter/lt35 based on mercedes sprinter I love sorinters except they rust like hell if they wernt kept clean, but they parted out and went back to their own as well as sticking a MAN badge on it like the old times. the 140bhp is very underpowered but theres 177bhp and if im not mistaken 190 aswell. either way a good hard working van and they'll no longer have rusting issues hopefully. Hope you know its a man badged crafter. and I find them a great van. its nice to see some merc resemblance in it.
Problem with the Sprinter is that if you want 4wd they raise the chassis by almost 20cm! They are ridiculously tall, you'd need a step ladder to get into the back of one. And it drives like an old tractor and costs a LOT more. We tried both and the decision was dead easy. The new (2020) Sprinter is a lot better, but still really tall with 4wd.
I don’t think any van driver would have a manual given the choice. Automatic and aircon, top of the driver list for me. My company gives us automatic but yet to give us the comfort of aircon. All the bosses cars have aircon though. Not bitter!!!
Any one one wanting a full step and towbar just order full step and then get MAN dealer to fit tow bar on after. Looks 10x better then horrible half step with towbar from factory.
Accountants always rely upon the 'Bottom Line' - Maintenance comes out of someone else's Biscuit Tin! I always remember my MD at a company that I worked for. He was told by the Finance Director "You cannot run a £100 Million Pound Company out of a Biscuit Tin!" His response was "Yes I can! - Just get a Bigger Tin! - Oh, and how much Profit did the Accounts Department make for us last year?"
Halogen is cheaper and the difference in performance is not worth the additional cost. We had a Van with LED-DRL. When it broke, we had to replace the complete headlight (instead of a simple light bulb). It was insanely expensive. Never again.
@@FreFa-ch The old halogen bulb you speak of is from the 1960s,they were superseded by xenon and then LED then lazer. Bicycles had LED headlights in the early 90s.Get a drive in a car with fully adaptive LED headlights and you will see how good they are.
I got a slightly better offer at MAN, and MAN offers better service and support deals, with 24 hour availability. I also preferred to be a customer at MAN than a VW car dealer.
Randomores where I’m at, we do not have the MaN variant, but the vW and it is identical, the previous version of the Crafter was built on the MB Sprinter platform... I have the 2013 Sprinter, a rust over engineered rust bucket... very prone to rust.
It's a factory option for heating which can be controlled either by remote control or pre-programmed. It can heat or run the fans in the hot months. The tank is 75 litres.
Thanks for joining me early this Sunday morning👋 So which would you choose the manual or automatic TGE Van ?
Automatic.
What about towing? Is auto better?
Definitely Manual. Automatic makes you lazy and inattentive, besides that it takes all the fun out of driving.
Christian Rönn you clearly don’t understand fun when driving
Manual for fun. Auto for efficiency.

That’s no MAN van Stavros! That’s a Volkswagen crafter with a MAN badge on it. Engine and gearbox are also from Volkswagen Crafter
it is a man , as i said MAN is owned by Volkswagen ...... approx ( 75% )
MAN is part of the VW Group so.. Duh!
They built a new factory to produce the new VW Crafter and MAN TGE.
Love the van videos, would like to see new transporter and transit reviewed
Finally .... A Man Van lol. Another great vid Stavros.

A MAN van for the van man.
At 10:00 I recognised that area crazy how close but yet so far
Definitely keep this in mind when I'm planning to get a car
Thanks Stavros!
I love your channel. Could you review more vans please.? I would really love that

This is the vw crafter

whoever disliked it is not a real man
Perhaps they’re a real mercedes...
This is pretty much a reenginered crafter. It has some of the same features as my polo

I recently got a quote for the Auto 180bhp with some extras, auto lights & wipers, full rear step, bulkhead window for £63.500, ouch !!
ISLE OF MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Michael O'Keefe Hope to make a visit back there next year👍
Good video
Its so rare to find vans with Automatic transmission.
Bit better than an LDV 😂😂😂😂
U ever hear of a guy called "mad marto"?
I don’t think any van driver would have a manual given the choice. Automatic and aircon, top of the driver list for me. My company gives us automatic but yet to give us the comfort of aircon. All the bosses cars have aircon though. Not bitter!!!
You don't know how to drive manual that's why you prefer automatic
Pls do for hino tractors too

The VW Crafter
Il! Just keep my hiace
its a vw crafter with an MAN badge...
Isn’t it just a VW crafter van?
I kinda like the tge 5.180
For the life of me i cannot understand why when buying new vehicles, customers don't spec LED headlights.

wonder how they will rust?
Guys go for the 180 auto
What about fuel consumption?
hola amigo, me gustaría una prueba de la versión chasis cabina
aren't these badge-engineered Volkswagen Crafters/Mercedes-Benz Sprinters?
Mercedes-Benz Sprinters not anymore. They quit the cooperation with VW. That's why there's the MAN.
@@Zenithialord Oh I didn't know that. MAN Is also owned by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles hence why its exactly the same as the VW Crafter
I’ve driven the new crafter and the steering is stupidly light
Poland. Factory tge
White van MAN
How do you choose between this one and a Crafter? Are they the same price with the same specs?
I got a slightly better offer at MAN, and MAN offers better service and support deals, with 24 hour availability. I also preferred to be a customer at MAN than a VW car dealer.
Is the MAN TGE just a badge engineered VW van?
Matthew West yes it is, parent company.
tunin tunin had wondered this myself. The infotainment screams VW group
@@randomores even mercedes are using this as a re badge
@@paulcollinson5244 they did share the busses for the previous gen, the new Sprinter and Crafter/Tge are completely different vans

Does this come with a parking heater or do I buy it separately, what size is the diesel tank?
It's a factory option for heating which can be controlled either by remote control or pre-programmed. It can heat or run the fans in the hot months. The tank is 75 litres.
Ehm. Show us the crafter.
Another van that’s not available in the United States due to the chicken tax.
Horn is man tge's power
it's a vw . vw bought MAN .so it's the same as a vw .
Ok its a Volkswagen but at least its not a LDV..
i work in an ldv dealers and for the money they area good van.the only problems i get with them,is owners not getting them serviced.
Big difference in price
@@DaBriars And for good reason, one is for those who are poor and the other for the better well off.
So basically just a rebadged VW Van? While I like driving the VW’s they’re terrible on fuel compared to other vans such as the Peugeot
True, my dad's 2.0 TDI in a TGE has about the same fuel economy as a GT500
VW Group owns MAN so.. Duh?
My company has owned several Peugeot Boxers and Fiat Ducatos... NEVER AGAIN.
Why would you need 8 gears in a 3.5tn van? I would have thought 5 or 6 would be enough
To reduce fuel consumption by keeping the engine in the optimum torque band.
Ford Ranger has 10 speed automatic
Why does this van exist ?, cuz MAN is owned for more than 75% by Volkswagen , they have their own vans .... like the crafter......
So companies that own a fleet of MAN's can order their vans at the same place which is more convenient
They’re aimed at fleet operators so they can get the same repair and maintenance service as the lorries
@@squeakdidit ah okay , that makes sense.
thank you :)
its a scania!
