It’s always a good game when you hear “You are looking live”
If JJ woulda stayed just one more year the Badgers could’ve made a run for the Natty. They would’ve had not only JJ but they woulda had Russel Wilson with one of the greatest backfields in CFB History with Monte Ball, James White, and Melvin Gordon. Crazy.
I’ve always thought about that. Especially considering the only losses Wisconsin took that season was by hail mary’s
Nah that was the year LSU and Alabama had the two greatest defenses ever assembled
Wisconsin’s offense was the best in the country and would’ve been the perfect balance to LSU’s defense. Remember, LSU was #1 meaning (if things shook out the same way) it would’ve been LSU Wisconsin. Best offense vs best defense. Would’ve been an awesome natty
They weren’t beating Bama in 2011.
I remember they lost to Michigan state on a Hail Mary and I couldn’t help thinking that Watt would have sacked Cousins
It’s amazing the trajectory of Wisconsin’s two running backs. John Clay played 3 games, 2 of which he attempted 1 carry, while James White who was the second running back won three Superbowls, played in another and was arguably the MVP of the greatest comeback in Superbowl history
Yea I always thought he should have been MVP, didn't he have like 3 or 4 touchdowns?
@@anthonymartinez3725 even Tom Brady gave him the mvp car or whatever the prize was. The same way he gave it to Malcom butler after the Seahawks Super Bowl
He got robbed of MVP in that super bowl for sure. Without him, they do NOT win that game.

I love it when NFL Throwback shows old college football games. Even better. Thanks!
Man I was at this game. Doesn't feel like it was that long ago... It was so good early on. So glad the Badgers hung on and won this one! Hoping Fickell can get us a couple victories against OSU.
I was at this game as well. What a great game. Hoping the hiring of Fickell can make this happen again. On Wisconsin!
Hung on? What do you mean? There was never any doubt about the outcome.
This game is similar to 2021's Michigan game for the Buckeyes. They just got man-handled in the trenches. It's not the part of the game most people pay attention to, but it's often how big upsets happen. Look at Miami last week. middle Tennessee absolutely pummeled Miami on the line opening up huge plays.
Hopefully this year the game will be great and close makes it more exciting.
JJ would add several defensive MVPs to his resume, and Bret bielema would add several hundred pounds to his
NFL Throwback is one of my favorite channels!
Seriously they have dropped so many banger games
This was when the #1 ranked team lost 3 weeks in a row
I was a freshman enrolled at Wisconsin. The best game ive ever been too! Still get goose bumps today.
J.J Watt is an inspiration to me in football and greetings from Brazil 🏈
This was a good upset victory for Wisconsin and JJ Watt, I'm sure Russell Wilson also played around this time but I'm not sure. Unfortunately for this recent matchup Wisconsin just got smacked
russ was still at nc state at this time
@@SpicyMapping Yeah, Russ played in 2011
I was about to say the same Russ was a 1yr transfer later.
The year Auburn won the national title with the cam newton being on the mount Rushmore of best seasons ever along with Joe burrow and Vince Young
2022 OSU would smack 2010 OSU if they played
My hometown Badgers were great in 2010! Can't say the same is true nowadays.
Yeah I hear ya, still not very much sold on Mertz.
Badgers future looking bright ngl
Under Fickell they'll be a talent growth at Wisconsin. He's recruiting better than Chryst did in a shorter time frame.Even Urban Meyer is foretelling of Wisconsin's talent growth in the next few years.
That J.J Watt is gonna be going places.
The last time Wisconsin beat Ohio State
This is the Badgers i remember. I dont know what happened to this team. Players are afraid to get hit now.
So, you ignore everything about recruitment that has been talked about for like a decade so you can take a pot shot at players. You're white aren't you? Lol
Watt was a man amongst boys, but Dane Sanzenbacher was freaking clutch that game, especially with all the hospital balls Pryor was throwing.
7:15 I'd say J.J Watt has done pretty good in the NFL. I'd say good enough for the Hall of fame.
I agree. And he's represented the NFL and his teams admirably. His paying for the funerals of the victims of the Christmas parade was a very kind thing to do.
Yes, easily Hall worthy, in the mid 2010s, I'd argue he was the most dominant player in the league. And Hall of Fame human as well, with his charity and community work.
He’s a first Ballot member
I remember when Pryor was called the LeBron James of high school recruits.... shame we never got to see him with a rich Rodriguez or gus malzahn type coach to see his ceiling as a college legend who had Vince Young ability
He didn't even turn into much of a TE as far as I know.
Yeah, not even close Vince Young could throw. Pryor threw like a woman with a prosthetic arm. Absolutely horrible throwing QB.
@@tw5139 He relied on his runny too much and everybody thought that was a growing trend like Cam Newton. But they always got injured even Tebow. Teaching big athletes to throw didn't turn out too well and the NFL went back to drafting QBs again.
I miss the days when OSU and Michigan couldn't just write off games vs Wisconsin
Man its only a game but damn loved it. Thanks to all current and past players.THANKS
while white clay were great. Amazing our offensive line....literally best in country 3 drafted in 1st and 2nd nfl rounds.
Thanks for the memories JJ Watt!!!
I know this is the JJ Watt game, but Sazenbacher was one tough SOB. The way he was just catching tough passed in the middle of the field and bouncing off defenders.
Boys thanks for the memories
wisconsin was loaded in 2010
If Russel Wilson had transferred to Wisconsin one year earlier they would have been National Champs. They scored 70+ 3 times with Scott Tolzien.
So was my auburn tigers had the best offensive player cam newton and best defensive player nick Fairley
@@tonypreston7278 If Kirk Cousins doesn't throw a hail marry to win the game* Tolzien was a damn fine QB.
Pryor thought he was something special, but it was 4 years later and a total commitment by the team to support a 3rd string QB that won a national championship for OSU
BEST. SEASON. EVER.
Was at this game!!! So much fun!
Who’s here to be reminded what Wisconsin football use to be?
As a Michigan fan…Wiscy is a team
I respect.
Let’s hope this team gets close
To this type of performance again.
It’s coming back in 2023
GLORY DAYS THANKS BARRY YOU SET THE STAGE
Cam Newton played in the 2010 CFB season before he was drafted the following year 👍🏾👌🏾
War damn eagle ur right
the real question is how on earth this was 12 years ago l0l. wasnt 2010 like a few years ago
Shame that Wisconsin got obliterated by Ohio State today...
What does that have to do with 2010 and a completely different team ? 🤔
@@cody6009 I'm not the only one who said this, but you choose to comment on what I said🤨🤨. And because they played on Saturday genius
Damn if only we had a.qb like wilson. Never forget his 1st game at Nevada and completed a pass 40 yrds never seen any wi qb throw that pass top it off with his runs
Good Ole Nostalgia
I remember watching this game at the ice rink when i was 9. Absolutely heartbreaking
Ahh yes, James White, Super bowl 51 champ
He got robbed of SBMVP in that game
Terelle Pryor would have been Vince Young good or atleast tim Tebow good if he had a offense better suited for his skilllset
2010 was great year my packers won the super bowl and the Auburn tigers and cam newton had a legendary season plus Auburn had nick Fairley the best defensive player in 2010
On Wisconsin!
Terrell Pryor looks absolutely huge in this game too me for some reason
He was listed as 6'6 240 coming out of college. He was a big dude.
Right? I'm like who is this massive dude at QB
My Boy Nick Toon from Middleton.
Yep the last time Wisconsin beat the Bucks.
It was probably bad karma for the Buckeyes to participate in Jump Around when they were down by 11.
Back when Wisconsin had competent QBs.
Nice
Brent Musburger is the best college football commentator
It took 13 minutes but he finally left a mark
I loved the stat of the linemen
The Badgers Oline was taller and weighed more than the Green Bay Packers
Uufda
I said to myself as a Texans fan, I want him. I want him bad!
I find that hard to believe when Texans fans booed him being drafted.
@@Salty-Doggy a lot of fans booed him because they wanted a CB. And boy he proved them wrong!
Brent Musberger was at least respectful of the Wisconsin Badgers team, unlike the rest of the ESPN group of "announcers". I remember thinking if Wisconsin actually got some respect from the NCAA they'd get a higher ranking, but that didn't happen.
Nothing Like The BCS cost a lot of Good 1 Loss Teams Shot at a Natty!! Really had to be Perfect Every Week!!
This game was the only Badger football game that I attended in my life. Don't plan on another one as how can you beat this one?
Ohio State had arguably the best defense in the nation that year, and honestly they could’ve easily found themselves in the title game that year, this game seemed like a mental lapse more than anything to me.
@@Commodore22345 Except TTUN. He knew how to win that game
Wisconsin was no slouch that year really good team. Jim Tressel was 4-4 vs Wisconsin always it seemed were barnburners games down to the wire tough games.
damn this is on my reccomended now, goodbye jj
Glad they fired Chryst. He was 0 for 5 against OSU, 0 for 3 against Penn State, and only .500 against Northwestern. He had just a 41% winning percentage against ranked teams and only 31% winning percentage against ranked teams since 2018. Not a good trend. Lost to unranked BYU at home when ranked 6th, lost to unranked Illinois when ranked 6th, lost to unranked Minnesota when ranked 14th and a birth to the B1G championship game on the line, and lost to unranked Wash St. at home when ranked 19th. He was 0 for 3 in B1G Championship games. In two of the B1G championship games had a double-digit halftime leads and still lost. He lost his only Rose Bowl appearance. Oh, and no players drafted in top 100 last year. The national media has vilified UW over this firing but it's simply lazy journalism running with a false narrative. Chryst easily could have and probably should have been fired after the effortless loss at Minnesota last season. Nobody with any real knowledge of this team was surprised.
Well, the video wasn't about JJ Watt, it was about the game itself. The title is very misleading. Do better.
Man that John Clay dude was a beast! Whatever happened to him? I don't recognize the name at all from the NFL, did he not make it for some reason?
yeah he didn't make it in the NFL, only played 3 games and had a handful of carries. James White went absolutely crazy in the league, though'
All I remember is their last game. When a team outweighed by nearly 40 pounds per man came out victorious over the Badgers. I remember a certain LB for those Horned Frogs named Tank Carter who stole the show. Pretty sure he stood about 6’0 and weighed maybe 220 soaking wet. But I’m a biased fan of Texas football so there you have it.
I JUST realized this game also had James White in it! No idea he went to Wisconsin.
It's because he was backup to John Clay, Montee Ball, and Melvin Gordon. Dude put up 4000 yards rushing and 45 TDs as the backup running back in college.
One of my all time favorite Badgers because he quietly showed up and did his job... And didn't seek a transfer to be the man at another school.
Ohio state has made many careers for opposing players. JJ is one of about 100. K mack from buffalo is another. Yes, buffalo. And not the buffalo bills. Think he had 5 sacks against us.
Jim Tressel’s last season with the Bucks
Tattoo gate
Up until J.J.'s first sack he was pedestrian, but once he got that sack, he became more confident, and the left tackle began losing his confidence and J.J. was getting into all of their heads!
Its still bothering me that we didn't draft his kid brother and took Kevin King a pick before him
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Chryst used to be such a good play caller. Obviously Ohio State in 2022 has way better players than Wisconsin, but the Badger gameplan sucked. Let's start every series with a run up the middle? In 2022? Chryst needs to evolve. Or maybe devolve - he had a lot of interesting calls in 2010!
I'm constantly wondering what's happened with his offense and play calling. There used to be so much more misdirection to go with the power, receivers were put into position to make plays, and the quarterbacks were on schedule and on target.
Chryst needs to go!! The recruiting is terrible....his coaching is terrible....They need Leonard as Head Coach before he leaves...
Chryst wasn't the HC in 2010
@@betrayy5151 He was the offensive coordinator in 2010 and was calling the plays.
@@betrayy5151 He was the offensive coordinator from 2005-2011, and he ran some great offenses. The 2010 team scored 70 points 3 times.
Seeing Nebraska on there is funny
Ya even at that point it had been 10 years since they were national title contender 2001 wad the last year
As a Badgers fan, I have to say, I really miss Jim Tressel.
Tressel was 3 and 3 vs Wisconsin. I wish Barry Alvarez was still coaching you all. He was awesome.
@@bucknut6631 Exactly why I miss Jim Tressel! And we really did have it good with Barry. Coaches and ADs like him don't come around all that often
Yeah OSU gave him a raw deal. He took OSU from an average good team to a National Champ contending team and got one!
Thank God for JJ Watt allowing the way for the best college team that year 🙏🏻
wisconsin can't attrack QB's like ohio state can, its no shock they've won nearly 10 in a row- give wisconsin ohio states roster we're going 12-0 every single year....wisoconsin has had ONE very good QB in the past 15 years and his name was Russel wilson-
Sounds like ur college really fuckin sucks at recruiting..
Last time we beat Ohio State I think....
how did sensanbacher not become a "baller in the nfl"?????
im pretty sure the ohio qb forgot he was the qb
Imagine JJ Watt and Cameron Heyward on that 2010 OSU team that might be one of the best 1-2 DL duos
You could say this about any two nfl players lol. But watt stayed home😊
So if the announcers hadn't focused on watt as a story, he had a really good game but not what made him famous
What’s up with the fake clapping?
Funny Christ was better as an assistant no knock the guy but where did these calls go
Sorry but what a joke the title of this video is. JJ Watt was a great player but he did precious little in this game. It was Wisconsin's offense which won the game not JJ Watt.
Watched half the damn video and didn’t see watt even mentioned, much less do anything. Click bait!
Damn Ohio:(
We’ve won 9 straight against Wisconsin since this 🤷🏽♂️lol
Just think he going to retire the Texans had so many lost opportunities with him to get to the super bowl
2010 was the year of the Auburn tigers having the besr player cam newton and the best defensive player nick Fairley and it was a year the hurry up offenses and chip Kelly's started happening and gus malzahn
I'm about half way through and JJ has done nothing
Ok there's a sack
mmmmm
WHADD
Pryor had to Have Money on this Game
Brent Musberger,
And now he's retired because of the Covid vaccine
First
this commentating is so bland
9:57 GAHHHH DAMMMNNN
Nothing happened what you talking about lmaooo
@@John_R_Jackson_III the way the Terrelle got hit.
He didn't look impressive at all in this game !
Meh
JJ Watt and his family didn't take the Jabs and everyone else on the planet they wouldn't be having the problems that they're having going to have or don't any of you out there realize what's going on and you haven't connected the dots yet after 3 years
Damn I remember watching this game as a kid ( I was 9 back then) my bucks def got manhandled in the trenches 🥲
On Wisconsin!
