@S S I wouldn’t own it for the internals. It would only be worth it to me if the folding machinism made the phone more durable. I work for a construction trade so durability matters a lot to me
1400 for an unlocked one. It’s $999.99 from my carrier, only $20 more than an iPhone with the same storage.

I don't care that it is missing some flagship features. I am looking forward to using a phone that is exciting. Every phone for the past few years from every manufacturer has felt almost identical. I'm happy companies are getting creative with some of the phones. Hope to see more of it!

I feel like the price is the only real issue with the phone. Seriously, make it 500 - 700 cheaper and so many more people would buy it. I'd imagine the profit margins on this phone are incredible, now if they could only get people to buy it...
@@CaidicusProductions I don't think they can really make it 700 dollars cheaper because it's not only about the sales it's also about the r&d and the assembly lines and alot of other little stuff especially bc this is a whole new genre and they cannot be confident that the phones will sell...that's just my take...that might be the case in a couple generations,and as mkbhd said:time flies
@@3bdo_ I upvoted your comment because you make a good point about the R&D. The problem is, they can't keep shoving the cost of R&D on consumers or consumers will just not buy it. I'd assume they want people to buy it, so pricing it a bit more reasonable would make the most sense. Even $1000 is expensive for these specs but it's a lot more acceptable to consumers as they're kind of getting used to the $1000 price point. $1399 is simply too much. It's also competing with the Galaxy Z Flip 1 and 2, which both have better specs than the Razr 2. There just seems to be too many incentives not to choose the Razr 2 with the price being the most obvious one.

@@CaidicusProductions the cost of something IS the cost of something. Money spent on R&D is indeed part of the cost to make the phone. Cost isn't just parts, is the people putting those parts together and the people who created the brand new parts for the specific phone. Sucks that the cost is so high, but I'm glad they're trying and I hope people but it. In time the price can get down, but $500 is as loooooong way away

I don't know why, but after watching the first RAZR review (2020), I'm really happy Motorola took the time to improve it with a second iteration. I have nothing to do with Motorola, but it's nice to see underdogs work on their products and make definitive strides.

Seeing the trends toward foldables, I'd decided to make the Razr 5G my daily. Picked one up on Mercari, unlocked and like new for $550 with a 2 year accidental warranty👍The icing on the cake and what I do with all my older tech is sell it online to offset my purchases. After selling my S8 Active, got the Razr all in under $400! At that price point, well "Hello Moto" 😊

My first ever phone was the N-Gage, followed by the Razr in 2005 right when I was entering middle school. The Razr was all the rage back then, but I'm not so sure it still is right now. The design of the phone has always been good, but the Razr 2 doesn't really do a whole lot extra when compared to other smartphones in 2020, beside being able to be opened and closed and looking like a nice dose of nostalgia.
Hey remember when it was actually COOL to have a flip phone? It was the craziest tech of that time.

The original MotoMoto Razr was ergonomic for me. I love how it came back with the folding MotoMoto Razr 2.
I bought it for the form factor and design alone. Love it.
Back in the day, I remember I think it was a Panasonic that had a button that you pressed and it opened the phone like it had a spring, I think that could be usefull for that "hard to open with one hand" problem
