- The Motorola Razr Plus and Razr are back for 2024! The Chicago-based company took last year's models another step farther with new colors and finishes, upgraded cameras, Moto AI and Google Gemini. Motorola announced the phones along with new cases with straps that let you wear them across your body or with pearls and gold on your wrist. Perhaps the biggest surprise is a new Bluetooth tracker called the Moto Tag that works on Google's Find My Device network, supports ultra wideband and has a couple of nifty features that other Bluetooth trackers should adopt.

@@fjaajf Yes there are definitely other folding phones out there. The uniqueness comes from the features they've implemented to compliment the form factor. The fun part is in the colors, textures and accessories.
When I hear a new phone is coming out, I can almost guarantee it'll be a slab in black white or gray with a glass back (borrrrrring).
Maybe Motorola is turning a new leaf with this device, but I would highly recommend waiting atm. Their android rom is full of bugs and they are extremely slow when it comes to major software updates. We are still on Android 13 on the RAZR Plus 2023

Their hardware is great, the software isn't. Full of bugs. Still haven't even gotten a major update on the 2023 RAZR, we are still running Android 13

People fixate too much on OS. I would rather slightly late, but stable, then early, but buggy.
@@ozzzy3z946 I'd agree if the software provided wasn't buggy to the point where it's unusable at times. The last update did fix a lot of bugs, but is far from perfect still.

The colors are absolutely stunning! It's fun to see lively colors on a flagship again, not the muted/pastel colors or the typical black, white and silver.
I have the 2023 RAZR+ and love it. This 2024 series is stunning in both models. Keep going, Motorola. Outstanding

I wish Motorola would actually update their phones in a timely manner. The current Razr is still on Android 13. Inexcusable for a premium flagship.
But impressive upgrades honestly. That's a ton of battery to squeeze into a foldable.

They don't woek with the Google find my network though. You have to have a Samsung phone. @@ChrisJohannsen
Motor needs to improve their software support. I would not consider motor phones until they show signs of better software support
I do miss the RAZR line looking more like the classic RAZR. Cloning the Samsung style was lame, but I like the specs here.
Ive been using the moto 2023 for a year now... Such a great phone! I pre ordered the 2024 + yesterday.. love the leather back which takes me back to the blackberry bold days

I don't think they'd even keep their promise of updates to be honest. My mom's Z4 only got updated to A10 from A9 and that's it. The Z4 was supposed to be their mid range model, too. I believe the successor to the Z lineup was the Edge lineup.

Pretty much the phone that I wanted last year. I'll wait to see what the Z Flip 6 has to offer but Moto is definitely looking extremely attractive

Nice ones 👌 Smart move to change to colored vegan leather for the bezel of the cover screen. on last year's razr+ the huge bezel really stood out but this year the cover looks bezelless on both even though only the plus model really is

Telephoto is the better choice. Ultra wide was always the cheaper option for companies. Another thing is that its the tech CZcamsrs sold as a narrative that its better to have ultra wide over telephoto

Nowadays main sensors are soooo good, zooming in digitally 2x has no problem. Would like to have a wide-angle lens instead.
Facts the 23 has a wide angle! I use wide angle alot. Id definitely miss it if I upgrade to the 24 model
I can't remember the last time I took an ultrawide photo. telephoto is the one I use more often.
Motorola has about the worse OS support, they do nearly everything but update their phones lol. For a $1000, this is pretty unacceptable.
I bought the phone, then realized, while sexy, it could do NONE of the One UI features I had come to love in my Samsung. Let me change the color of the app folder. Wait, I can't. Let me change the sparkle effect around the edges for notifications. Oh wait, I can't. Let me pull my app drawer from the side for special apps. Wait, I can't. So I ended up keeping it in my drawer, but getting the new Z Flip 5. Same issue here with this new phone. This is super super sexy, but doesn't have anything close to One UI, which while initially buggy, is now an absolute must. Still, I am tempted.

I’d always choose the telephoto lens. I barely use the Ultrawide lens on my phone, but I use the zoom regularly.

razr+ 2024 still base model with only 256GB of storage. To compensate for the lack of cameras they should have done it with 512 GB. Pass from me.

Ultrawide is mutch more usefull if you are in small space you can get everyone in the frame. Zoom you can just move closer.

I have the RAZR+ 2023 in the Viva Magenta. Now Green is my fav color so love live love the bew Green option. However my biggest gripe is the same ole 256gb. With these companies making the cameras better and more megapixels there should be a base 512gb internal. Shameful that it is not base 512 or st least have some versions.

The colors remind me of the Moto X they released that you can customize. Mine had a wooden back and I loved it at the time. Ngl though having been a Pixel die hard since the beginning I'm really only looking forward to the 9 Pro XL

Haha so the Pixel 4 with actual 2x OIS Zoom & Marc Levoy was right back in 2019 while all others who dislike it are just noises? I've just switch from my Pixel 4XL and I can see why Ultrawide is equally important to switch the different perspective at an instant and they do provide stylish B&W photo at times.
Not a fan of the camera but I do enjoy my razr 2023

@@jonb5331 I don't think it's that big of a deal, it is only slightly slower than last year's flagship (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2), which means it's faster than the old razr +.

I really love the design and would gladly move on from my Samsung, but what concerns me is that the warranty for Motorola is only 12 months in Australia, and I also don't know what it's like dealing with them after purchase. I've had two flips fail on me in the past so flip and fold phone frailty is a thing as the technology develops.
I like the design but if they could make it look like the old razor would be 🔥 How about making a phone that flips open at the bottom keyboard when closed have a screen on the outside would be amazing . Could add more functionality on screen more options with apps battery screen more style factors but i really like the look and excited for the razor phone making a comeback 🔥💪🏻🤝
Such a shame that T-Mobile is only releasing this in Midnight Blue and Hot Pink. I wanted to use my "Jump" on this phone, since I still have a balance on my current phone. I really wanted the Spring Green color 🍃😔

That RAZR is truly disappointing - Since January users have to open the phone to properly use Google Assistant, and Moto is not even committing to fix this critical user-function, despite still advertising that Assistant can be used with the phone closed. It is a serious defect for a phone that promotes usability when closed. The Lenovo/Moto/RAZR support/discussion board shows how little Moto is taking any responsibility of a broken feature Moto specifically promotes.
Moto RAZR... outrageous you have to open the phone to use Google Assistant... since Jan '24 - still that way in June. Great idea, but someone dropped the ball on this critical function. I wonder if the RAZR50 will have the same defect as teh RAZR40, and are Moto telling potential customers?

I'm not in the market for a flip-style phone - having seen the tradeoffs that come with putting a hinge in your phone, I just can't get behind it for any benefits that hinge offers _except_ for fitting a larger screen in your pocket.
_But_, if I _were_ in the market for these, I really appreciate what Motorola is offering. Their $700 model has a lot of good stuff at a midrange price point, and I saw it for $400 new on Amazon a few weeks ago. If you're in the market for a flip phone but you're on a budget, Motorola looks like the way to go.
This is of course ignoring Samsung's promotions they like to do - they can be incredible (Samsung offered the Flip 5 for your Flip 4 and $100 last year) but they're also inconsistent and unreliable.
