Haha, Always a pleasure to watch your videos, recognise some of the places. I'm the same if I think im sinking too much with risk of landing in a tree - can't be quiet! I also start talking and swearing to myself😂
In my opinion, it has nothing to do with precision. It is flying in unknown territory, looking for landing possibilities only shortly before landing, so that you have to improvise extremely every time. The power line was definitely not far away, a fence you overlook, a street light and you seriously hurt yourself. It makes sense to look at landing areas and the conditions at the landing field before the flight and if you go on route, ok but then do not pick an area without a plan B. If at the wrong moment a ground release lifts and you hang in the power line, that's it with flying. Take care of yourself, I'm serious
I admire your precision landings :) and what's important- I am okay :) that makes us all happy even in little bit unpredicted situations. All in all, great skills!!!
If the goal of this video is to bring the sport of paragliding into disrepute, that's a big tick then! Flying close to livestock, close to overhead lines, close to buildings, close to people, dangerous maneuvers at low altitude, and generally taking unnecessary risks that could result in the need for emergency services in remote areas, potentially taking them away from other genuine emergencies. It might be impressive, it might be fun, but no thought at all of a pilot's responsibilities.
I land behind a tree once, and i ended up with a broken foot. This chap seems to do it all the time, and get away with it. Hopefully its skill, and not luck. Nice landings though.
Sweet! I wish I had video of my landing a month ago in a small backyard sized facility that was barbwired off. I know exactly how that feels in your video of you landing in a tree. You acknowledge at that point that you could get seriously fucked up or killed. Let's you know you are alive! I was trying to make a critical ridge, and instead of taking the usual large bailout, I was indicating lift and thought I could make the ridge, but thought wrong. Then I became pinned between serious powerlines from the hydro electric plant and a big tree. As soon as I cleared the big tree, my only option appeared, a small facility of the water plant that was barb wired off. Not even enough room for my wing, but somehow I pulled it off! I had to do 2 quick wingovers to get in there vertical like that and not hit the barb wire fence. It's now been named by our flying club, "Darren's bailout"!
I'm a fan of your videos and a paragliding beginner. I'm wondering if you can tell me a bit about your attitude on the risks to get harmed in flying. What made me sceptic was reading this article: xcmag.com/magazine-articles/stewarts-story-living-life-injury/ Please forgive my bad English but I'm from Germany... Regards Nikolaus
I'm utterly baffled by some of the landing field choices, when seemingly much better options were available. Would be great to have some analysis
I feel the same.
Video should be called "Unnecessary risky landings" :)
Analysis; he does not like to walk?
@@MarkvanEs Rather likes taking the risk (without the real reason)
Whenever we saw a paraglider hanging in a tree, we used to say: Look, a new member of the Bonsai-Club.

Thank you. I feel like I have gained hours of experience in just 5 minutes. :)

and after that last landing: selling skywalk posion x-alps in good conditions only few hours :D
Nice video David! How does the X-Alps 4 compare to the Z-Alps / Zeolite?
I haven't flown any of those gliders unfortunately.
@@hasidavid2 The X-Alps 4 looks amazing!
@@LukeMacWhirterTV it's an Xalps 3
Do u ever get to your destination? Looks like u thermal till there is no more lift then have a forced landing. Hell on wings ...
where did you land in 3 video from end.... was it in austria ?
Yes, all of them were in Austria.
tight landing :)
Which skywalk wing is that? It looks super light
X-Alps 3
Did have to get another wing after the accident or did you just repair it?

Sounds ballsy, video would have been awesome.
Perfect Team...Pilot andPara....almost... last Leeside?
Do you always land like this, you are very lucky - until now.....
tight landings are so much fun
Wow! Excellent landing skills! Sometimes a bit risky (4:42), but it's pure paragliding :D
🙈🙊
kkkkkk muito maneiro hahaha Brasil

You guys turn so low!
Why are you making it so hard for yourself?
Solche Aktionen sind genau die,die unseren Sport in Verruf bringen .
Eine Schande 👎
