- Tenerife is a beautiful place to fly, but it takes a lot of skill if you want to explore new places, or go XC. The terrain is very unforgiving if you have to land outside of official landing zones.

Agree with you, every year you have plenty of accident and few death. Its and island that is under estimated by pilot that think they have safety of water (ridiculous). Should always go with local guide. But yeah is chalenging and a beautyfull island.
I don't know why I can't spend every day playing like this.

Do powered aircraft have to try to avoid you or is it your responsibility? Do you have to let air traffic towers know that your flying?
You have right of way over a powered aircraft but never assume that the pilot has seen you or will let you pass (common sense applies).
If you fly in class E or G airspace you don't have to inform ATC. For class D you need two way comms at all times and ask permission before entering the airspace. All other airspaces are prohibited.

that last landing... jesus, so close to those cactus! easily could have gone up your bum or toasted your glider!!!
I wanted to get over the hill, but the wind was too strong and had to land in the lee side rotor. Also you can't really see it in the video, but there were lots of power lines limiting my options.
