- Next upgrade for the Tamiya Rising fighter is a transmission brace.
This is a 3d printed part to stop the slap of the rear transmission and remove some of the hop from the chassis. - Zábava
Oh yes, Craig, those steering rods are as stiff as a bit of cheese! I've yet to upgrade mine, but Rob has a great fix for it. I made my own axle brace, wish I had got a pre-made one like you! I agree, the brace does make it easier to handle. I think it'll show more of an effect the more you hop this buggy up. Yes, I am finding the series interesting! I need to catch up on your last video, see you soon! Thumbs always up. matey! :O)
Hey Mark, many of the upgrades for the Rising Fighter have come from that excellent video you and Rob did comparing your cars. The brace made the buggy more stable to drive however I am not convinced it handles the bumps round the Orchard Raceway better 🤔 The steering arms were a joke! I have attempted to fix but not sure I have improved the running as a result! You’ll see in the next few vids. Many thanks for watching my friend 🙌🏻👍🏻

Nice to see it helped with something, even if it wasn’t additional speed. I be looking at the dampers, very closely. Hey John, thanks for watching my friend 👍🏻🙌🏻 On reflection I think the brace helps keep the rear end controlled but on the Orchard Raceways bumps and lumps I think it might actually need that movement! Still it is fun to play with the chassis. On to the tale of the shocks!!

I’ve always wanted to try one of these braces for my hoppers as well as the lunch box.. but I’ve sat on it cos I don’t really mind their bad handling all that much.😂 In your case,it makes sense as you are chasing better lap times. I’m certain those oil shocks will transform the handling.👍😊
Hey pal, thanks for watching 🙌🏻👍🏻 The brace helps settle the rear end and started to improve the consistency of the lap times. This will be the only car that I hop up at this level so quickly and I wanted to try and track those changes best I could. The shocks are a tail of two runs 😁

Hey 👋🏻 I have a brace on the Midnight Pumpkin and it makes a huge difference on the CW-01 chassis. Mine seems less prone to rolling in certain situations where the Lunchbox I have does (no brace). Thanks for watching 🙌🏻👍🏻

I have looked a few different ones to print out and try but I have still yet to print one. Mostly because I keep forgetting to put the file on the SD card to take out and put on the printer!! I know that next one is going to be a good one. Shocks are really gonna wake this thing up!! It does suck the front end has gone all wonky on you!! Hopefully you can find some new turnbuckles for it as the wobble stick steering is not going to improve lap times!!!
Hey Addam, I was surprised how easily the steering arms bust as the same set up exists on a few Tamiyas and they have never bent so easily! You should try a brace out at some point and see the difference for yourself. You’d probably notice it even more on the Taterdome 😁
@@theoagrc Yeah, it was surprising to see them both all bent like that! You could upgrade to a threaded turnbuckle but it will require come inventive shopping and tinkering to get it to work out right. They don't make it easy to upgrade with the offset servo horn and the tiny steering arms!

Looking good, I do like those braces , I had one on the gh2 and it worked well controlling the gearbox slap under load. Food for thought the more you drive the track the better you get your lap times so how does that stack up against the upgrades you your making when it could be down to just better driving? Not trying to say your rubbish by the way lol ;) it’s just naturally the mire you drive something over and over again you do te d to improve up to a point. Anyway all great fun cheers Craig
Hey Andy, thanks for watching bud. I would agree with you that I am improving the more I drive the Orchard Raceway. Consistency seems to be the biggest measure of that. Hot laps come and go (like the DT03 in the finale!) but if I can drive something consistently then that is a measure of a good buggy for me. The brace certainly improved the consistency. I am not sure anything has made it faster but they have made it easier to drive. 😁

@daylightdies7194 I think they were slightly different. There was loads before. Might be worth checking to see if there are some for the Grasshopper and Hornet
