Cheers Yoda! Turnability is a word for me pal! The old girl did great but until I treat her to a Hot Trick for next year she will always be behind the pack. I am not expecting the Raider to be in the mix at the end of the division but I can tell you this was my favourite drive out the lot of them.

Cheers Andy. It is always fun getting them out on the track and giving them a blast round the raceway. The Mad Bull is a Tamiya legend and so much fun to drive. One of the few that stands up to quite a lot of thrashing!!

Hi Paul, Thanks for your lovely comment. The Cougar diff has been a constant pain in the backside! First issue I had was the layshaft stopped the gear. Upgrading to the high speed set helped out hugely here and fixed that issue. This also then comes with a slipper clutch which helps out in tightening up everything. The diff was too loose and no matter how much I tried to tighten it up it was just not working. I took everything apart and retightened the diff by hand until it felt reasonably tight. I then put everything back together again and checked that the diff was still tight when I put the gearbox back together. It does seem to loosen up over time but if tight you can put a hex driver on one side of the gear box and turn the opposite wheel to retighten the diff. (This does not work if it has got too loose though!) Finally the slipper is a huge help as this can be adjusted to keep everything tight rather than relying on the diff alone. It is a real battle however (as you will see in a few weeks) totally worth it as the Cougar was a blast on the Orchard Raceway this season!

Thank you so much for replying, I have ordered the pro diff and have crossed my fingers….. my old hotshot was never this much trouble and would definitely be quicker around the orchard raceway !

Hey Yoda, it is probably my favourite group also. The Cougar is race ready but getting that car set up has been a real battle over the last two years. The Ultima is just brilliant but I have to be able to control it round the twisty OR. Everyone is overlooking the Madcap which in my opinion is a fantastic car as it is more Astute than Madcap these days! Should be a great series of time trials for sure 🙌🏻

Thanks Sean. The Kyosho has a modern drive train but will the Orchard be kind to it?? It went so well last year but ultimately lost out to the 4wd Thunder Dragon. However, this year the track seems to favour the 2WD set up more

Great comment dude! The Ultima is back out on the Orchard Raceway soon in the Vintage 2WD time trials and we’ll see if it can make another season finale 🙌🏻
