Get your Fujifilm X to Pentax K mount lens adapter at: amzn.to/2ATlgU1
@Damian Brown Just found your Channel. This Combo make the photos look like film. Great job! I am getting my Xt2 tomorrow, and I have the Nikkor 24, 50, and 135mm ais with adapter. Can't wait! 😃
Nice flow, the photos/music together
Thanks!!
Just found an adapter for old fujica x series lenses. Fotodiox. Have an X fujinar T 135mm f2.8 I'm waiting to try out when it arrives.
Mount this lens on my a7iii, it is such amazing lens with excellent quality. Focus is nice and smooth and build quality is second to none. And a 135mm for that compact in size.
got an M42 Takumar version of this lens a couple of years back, it renders pretty good, haven't used it as much as i thought i would though, the crop feels a little claustrophobic
I guess the crop is personal. I quite like it lately. The M42 would be fun, I could use my speed booster thing :D
The 135mm f3.5 Takumar is an amazing lens try that one.
Also got a 13mm f2.8 Helios M42 that’s a great lens.
I've eyed those up a few times, good idea!
Love old vintage Pentax glass...got 28 mm, 50mm just got today for €30 euros the same 135mm. Popped it on the XT1. Love it.
I need to get searching for some more!!
I've got two 135mm vintage Pentax Takumar lenses. One is an SMC f/3.5 and the other is a Super-Takumar f/2.5. Both are M42 mount of course. The 2.5 is a real hunk of glass, very weighty, but a nice lens. The 3.5 has that lovely lens coating and renders really nice. Now the M lenses are something I'm recently re-discovering. I've had the 50/1.7 for awhile. Superb fast lens. I just got the 35/2.8 a few days ago. So far I love the images I'm getting from it. I use a Pentax K-5II.
I've been looking at that 35mm :D
I wonder if you can tell me how the smc 135mm compares with the super takumar
@@zenodotusofathens2122 Well the 135/3.5 is not as fast as the 2.5 obviously. It has a 49mm filter size while the 2.5 has a 56mm.
Both of my lenses are in good shape. I've never done a direct comparison between the two, but for me I prefer the 3.5 for the lighter weight, and the coatings which cuts down on flares.
@@dbkfrogkaty1 thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I was going to buy either one of these lenses. But a better deal popped up on eBay for the Olympus and I got that in the mail just yesterday. I tested it out and I like the sharpness and colors
I have this lens on a Canon 60D It's good. I also have a Rokkor 135mm that I have yet to try, who knows which is better?
Did you noticed the color rendering is a bit on the cool side of this lens? I got a bluish tint to my image
This lens is amazing indeed and *only 5 elements* . My personal favorite recommendation in this series is the 105mm. I do not own or have tested the 85mm unfortunately... Maybe later. The 135mm is also very usable for macro with some extension tubes and tripod! Remember that some smc lenses (the yellow colored ones) are radio active (thorium).
I wondered why I was getting taller lately.
Hahaha... and you also *"SHINE"* more lately! ;-)
Thank you for showing what the lens actually looks like on the body.
It helps me too when they show that :)
Were the William McGregor photos SOTC?
(*straight out the camera)
Yes indeed! :D Had to be done... and I'll probably photograph it again and again.
Thanks, Damian, does that make it 202.5mm on the Fuji body? I'm thinking to get a 135mm as my first vintage lens. Crazy to think how big and expensive an equivalent lens of that focal length would be if made by Fuji.
Yes William, that's the FX equivalent. I really like this lens, all round worthy purchase
I have this lens but I don't know how to initialize or activate the lens hood. Anyone here who can give me some pointers?
Hi Damian is 135mm good for portraits? I just bought a revenue special 135mm 2.8 , still waiting for the adapter I ordered..
Hi, personally I'd definitely give it a try with portraits yes!
Pentax M lenses, a bit smaller, sharp glass and fit well with the fuji camera style.
Got this lens. Decent sharpness but aberrations are too strong for me, so I am replacing it with a Super Takumar 135mm f3.5 any day now.
Will keep the Pentax though as it fits a 1.5x teleconverter on the end, thanks to it's nice small size and filter thread. Far lighter combo than my Super Takumar f4 200mm.
£40 sounds a lot. Think I paid just £15 at Real Camera Manchester, but that may have been a couple of years earlier and yours could be better condition.
Super Takumar all the way I think!
@@DamianBrown Oh yeah, I am geeking out over Super Takumar at the moment. There is a book a fan made I am just considering buying. The first edition is on Amazon for nearly £1k. 😃This 2nd version is more like £30, but it sounds limited so it could be a sound investment too (or it may make me buy tons of lenses).
Super Tak definitely has the cult following vibe (I even half want to make a T-shirt). Just bought my 3rd Super Tak 55 1.8, there are lots of versions and it could be a deeply expensive time zapping rabbit hole.
Interesting to learn (from a wiki this am) that the name came from the Pentax owner's brother's name with an R on the end as he was into art and they wanted it to seem more arty sounding. Perhaps a bit like Fujifilm wanting to make their first lens, the 35mm f1.4, more arty (more character). Then the business scaled up so much they lost that love for the bokeh and craftsmanship when it all went more consumer friendly (cheaper) for bigger production.
Great sharpness wide open.
Loved this combo!
You forgot to mention it has a built-in lens hood!
Ohhhh :D
Yes, I like that feature!
Just bought this for $70 for my xt3.
Nice! I love mine still.
Why not just buy a Pentax DSLR and use this fantastic lens without any adaptor?
Love to. Costs a little bit more than the adaptor for my existing cameras though.
Speed Booster
I want one for the PK to FX!
Great lenses - I have the 50mm f1.7 and the 50mm f4 Macro too. No need to spend big money on trendy 1.4 lenses. Here's a shot using the 135 on my Canon 5D Mk1 body: instagram.com/p/B7iq6Spnw__/
