Listening to this in 2023 really does make you wonder "where did all those yesterday's go"? 🤷🏽♀️❤️
What a great time to be young , the music was great ,
The 70s had the absolutely best music in my humble opinion.
more profound now that most of my "tomorrows" are gone.
2024🎉
The US gave us such tracks and as a club DJ in Newark (Nottinghamshire) my job was a privilege playing class like this. Todays so called "music" is no comparison to class like this..
I am a native New Yorker.....I was 19 and had a new born son when this song came out.....memories!
I think this great song is applicable to any and every city.
I'm a Londoner.
This song came out in 1977 when I married my beautiful wife, Ellen. And we're still together in 2023 (46 years later)!
Congratulations!!!❤
Wow! Love it ❤
That's beautiful brother. God bless the two of you 😊
Congratulations ❤🎉
Wow! Congrats 🍾 🥂
My mom is a Native New Yorker and she told me this was her favorite song as a young city girl.
The magic line in this song is 'where did all those yesterdays go?'
So True!
@@1JUSTGOTLUCKY1 Agree. Where did they go? It was a great time. Many didn't know it. Now we have Covid and they are gone
Yes dude agree !!
Many yesterdays keep going away!
Yes, Mister Edson, it is ! Kind regards from Germany to Brazil.
So glad I was born in 1960. Had the best time ever mid to late 70s ❤
Me too 👍😆
That’s my birth year as well
4561s my number just love music ha my grandsons name is hendrix yup life is good
70s were the best🎉
@@saul890Where did all those yesterdays go ? 😏
There is something hauntingly beautiful that these lovely women have both passed but they are locked in time almost in immortality by this very famous song.
Hauntingly beautiful is just what I thought. In addition to your sentiments about them, they speak to a sadness women experience in the big city which they in turn embrace to make them stronger
@@ristobenjie love it!
Great post 👍🏾
So sad our memories are dismantled brick by brick in a wall until nobody is left
2 beauty gone too soon...not fair!! Thanks so much for acknowledging and remembering them....RIP...always remember this song when I was growing up in High School in Jakarta and now been living for the last 40 years in Sydney ....and there you are...still singing in my heart and soul.....can not be forgotten ...LOVE it!!
This song banishes all the negative energy in the air right now. God bless them.
👍🏻😂
Amen.
Amen.
Sweet soulful voices, my youthful dayz ❤️❤️
“Where did all those yesterday’s go?” I don’t know why but I love that line so much 💙
When you still believed
Love could really be
Like a Broadway show.
You were the star
When did it close?

I'm 76yrs old now when the 60's was soul all nighters and then the fabulous 70's disco scene with nice dance tunes like this, sadly those days are long gone but thank god we have CZcams to bring back those great era's RIP Odesy
I feel so bad knowing that these three singers are all deceased. MAY THEY ALL REST IN HARMONY.
didnt realise they had all passed away.
@Anthony Jamroz I didn't know that. What happened to them?
Wow
didnt know that god bless
Very sad…. I was about 17 when I bought it… 61 now..
They were so regal, the epitome of elegance and class.. many of us were like that back then. They remind me so much of some of my relatives growing up then; all gone now.. mostof us were like this where i am from before the decline..
No swearing! No vulgarity! Great tune! Real people! Real instruments/musicians! Man.....times have changed! Not for the better....sad really.
Agree
that's when amarica was cool and classy
GREAT SONG so many great memories listening to this masterpiece, MITCH THOMAS 5 29 2022
A couple of years ago I was in a situation where I had no other choice to lesson to some"music". It was demeaning women with obscene language and was quite appalling but then a machine gun started going off - in the"song"-- I jumped so high!-
🙄😒😒😒
This is life you'll never live again
💖😰😰😰😰REAL TALK 💃🎶 🏃
TRUTH! Agreed!
If we only knew the treasures we had back in the 70s and early 80s we would have truly savored the music much more than we did. I would never have believed it would get as bad as it has gotten😢
Where did all those yesterdays go ?.
Dwayne Swift amen. aint nothing like it 💯💯💯❤️❤️
I had a caller mention this song to me at work and now I can’t get enough 😊
What a beautiful era
An absolute classic from the disco era, it evokes so many memories of the late 70's. Such a great track, it transcends time.
One of my all-time favorites!!!

I was born in 1982, but I remember hearing this song as a young child. This song stuck with me because I'm a native New Yorker💜🌃
This song stuck in my head too. But for me I was a child coming from rural North Carolina.
Janelle Pizarro. Ciao della Palermo Sicilia. In East Harlem out in Bensonhurst. Hay just kidding. I still love this song. God Bless.
I was born in 1965 and I love this song🤩🤩🤩
I was born 1965 and I love this song
And I am a native Dutch man from Holland and I'm 54 now...counting
I went to Miami in 1982. I played this on the juke box everytime we had a meal in the restaurant....Great Days....
I believe the golden era of music ended around the 70s to 80s.
Trust me, I'm still listening
I was kid and my mom would play this song on her 8-tracks. I would dance on the living room table with my sliding footy pajamas
She was so gorgeous! That smile just makes you reminisce about what we called the good ole days! RIP The Lopez Sisters!
Song Never Gets Old.😊😅🎉
People forget how Pure this Soul was, 70s Soul hits So Different especially when this came out in NYC round the blackout
Lovely memories 1977.
I just cannot express how much I love this track - no matter what the situation, it never fails to raise my spirits but leaves me lost in tearful reminiscence. "Where did all those yesterdays go ...?" 💔
Oh to be back there.....
Well said.....
Summed it up very nicely, thank you.
Truly!
Perfectly said🤗🙏🏿❤️
This song sounds as good as when it came out in 1977, a true classic.
You are 100% correct....I was attending Howard University back in 1977...... we loved this song !!!
Ano em que minha amada filha nasceu. ❤️
I remember this song from my youth when my boss owned several night clubs in Far Rockaway New York in the 70's&80's!!..Best years of my young life!😊😮😂❤
2024 still gooving to this song...
This song epitomised the 70s and disco club era. This will always remind me of my school days, my young teenage years, hot summers, flares & cheese cloth tops.
This reminds me of a dear friend who passed away last year. He loved this song because he was a true native New Yorker.. couldn't imagine living anywhere else.. He grew up in either Mt. Vernon or New Rochelle I don't remember which but then lived all over the city for his adult life, Fordham, Staten Island, Sunnyside Queens (for a short time) and Woodlawn which is where he felt the most at home. He had to move in with a friend in Dobbs Ferry because of financial reasons.
I miss him so much. RIP Jim

As a kid in NYC during the 70s, this is one of the most nostalgic and euphoric pieces of music I've heard -- and I'm a DJ. Just classic
Gracias, la oigo y la oigo.Bella. La escuchaba en Mérida y me emocionaba. Después, como locutor las presento en Caracas en la radio. Gracias, me entero de sus nombres. Que bonitas.
I completely agree and I'm a DJ too! One of the songs I used to sneak in on the air during my military DJ days!🎙📻🎶 THIS is MY song verbatim❣️Proud Brooklynite for life!🗽🌃💞

Yes David your so right on
David, those yesterdays have not gone - they are with us all and willl remain so.dont be unhappy, be happy that we had the privilege to be there when this music filled our days and nights Be safe.
@@royhardy407 thanks so much for your kind words, but it's not only about the memories it is also living and growing up in a more uncomplicated happier safer time and knowing that our children will never be able to experience such happiness

Agreed David
In my humble opinion they were underrated, this and back to my roots are pure 🪙 gold ☺️
They were definitely NOT underrated. 😏 They had hits worldwide for years. Why do people feel the need to make these underrated comments?!
I admit that when I'm making a list of the best of the best, I always forget to put Lillian Lopez on that list.
They may have been underrated in their 'native' country, but they were loved in the UK.
@@Eleventhearlofmarssorry about that... at least we can both agree they were great - right?

Good to see you again Jack! I mean Alvin! haha. Cheers mate!
Used to listen to this in the telephone box in the UK as a teenager chasing a beutiful blond haired girl, Lorraine my first love, i hope she’s happy somewhere in the UK x
Odyssey, more than any other disco group, not only wrote great disco tunes but they somehow contained in them a melancholy and a something that is so hard to put your finger on.
Maybe they were just so human!
Brings tears to my eyes, love the song, amazing memories and yes beautiful great ladies that are timeless
Amazing memories I was 20. 62 now; and it still sounds great
Literally like right now 😢
I can't believe that these beautiful people who gave us beautiful songs to accompany the equally memories of the '70s are now just memories themselves.
I've never been to New York (or even the us) but the way they sing this song makes me feel that I have. It evokes images of what I imagine the place to be like. If you can do that, then you are something special.
Interesting ! Me too. I'm from Brazil. Greetings.
I am a New Yorker, and it does catch the city vibe accurately.
Odyssey's performances were awesome during the days when music was real.
Man, I love this song. It just bursts with rhythm and joyful vocals. I never tire of hearing it 🎉

Always loved this song , i bought the 45 vinyl 🙂👍, can't believe they've passed on 😔x
l was once told that this song made by Odyssey only took one take. I believe it because it is so perfectly done and so pure. the song takes me back to Old New York where it was when I started back in the 90s. It was a grand time then. May all these singers rest in peace and understand that your beauty and your loveliness has brought us so much joy and put so many smiles on so many faces.
R.I.P. ODYSSEY. THIS IS WHAT DISCO WAS ALL ABOUT.GREAT SOUNDS ,DANCING TILL DAWN.
'Where did all those yesterday's gooooo!?'The most beautiful lady of the 70's.

I was born in the late 60s and grew up in the 70s in Ireland listening to all the amazing black American singers. Candi Statin, Gladys Knight, Dorothy Moore, Odessy and many more. It saddens me to learn those beautiful ladies have passed on. Makes you wonder what it's all about. As they sing where have all those yesterday's gone. They definitely don't make singers like they used to. Rest in peace beautiful ladies.
Yes I wonder that a lot myself ,
Irish myself what a beautiful song especially if being to new York
The late Tony Reynolds makes me proud to be Filipino.
Wow! My youth comes rushing back - fantastic stuff

This song reminds me so much of my best friend that passed away maybe 30 years ago. I was maybe 14 and had just moved along with my parents, step brother, step sister to Croydon (The South of England) I knew no one at all. I can't remember exactly how we got introduced (His name was Trevor) but I soon found out he played bass guitar, he was self taught teaching himself of his Dad's bass. I was amazed and we soon became friends and I was soon begging my parents to buy me a Bass guitar which they did. We weren't a rich family so at the time it was a huge outlay. I would go to Trevors house and would patiently show me all the baselines he had worked out how to play by ear. These looking back where the best days of my life. Trevor soon after started to play guitar and we eventually got asked to join a band Trevor was always a better Bass player than me a his ear for music was unbelievable. He had a fantastic record collection some from his Dad but others he had purchased himself that was always a source of inspiration for us. I spent many hours even days in that house with him and his brothers watching videos eating oven chips whilst his Mum was at work nights and his Dad was away from home weeks on end. Trevor sadly passed away when he was maybe 17-18 years old. I remember being in the Doctors surgery oneway waiting to get seen and he came in with a girlfriend saying he had a headache and passed away few days later.I was devastated and that loss still affects me now 30/40 years later. This is one of the songs we would most doubt have listened to and learned and it reminds me of him as do many others. RIP Trevor Gittens xxxx
