This day took longer than expected. We obviously managed to shorten it but here go:-
First of, we diagnosed a Ford KA with Multiple Cylinder Misfire. Customer was complaining that he can only reach a maximum of 20mph on the motorway. NOT GOOD.
Second job is a Subscriber's Ford Focus ST-3. We performed an interim service and rear brake discs and pads. He provided us with the parts required for the vehicle, and I can't lie to you, I was impressed with the parts that he bought!
Finally, a Major Service on a 2016 1.4 Vauxhall Corsa. Replacing all the essentials parts and fluid required for a Major Service.

there is a 10:1 ratio nowadays of bad mechanics to good ones, you guys are the 1, in the old days it was the other way 10:1 good mechanics to bad, times sure have changed. Keep up the excellent work, you will always have customers.
Awesome work buddy. Nice to see a mechanic who doesn't take things for granted 👌
Thank you!
"That's a pouring hole and this is the vent" 😂😂😂That killed me
Nice to see you guys keeping the work quality high as always and the jokes as well
Thank you 🫡
Yes to the ST rebuild 🤞👌
Thank you for a super educational quality program that sbows a technition wbo cares for his customers and does his utmost to satisfy his customers.
Groves are for removing glazing from pads, not cooling. Rear brakes don't really need them, but I agree with the rotation, it should fling material out not inwards. Its useful on the track for front brakes, but does introduce a weakness. If you overheat them on the track they need to be replaced max 2 years.
I was impressed! those spark plugs the state of them told a story. Thumbs up from me.
Thanks for the kind word man😎
Top work and won't hesitate to use you guys again!!!
Oh and definitely agree on the disc orientation 😂
Thank you man! I didn't win that ST3 today unfortunately, but will defo look for more!
It is so nice to see genuine mechanics who spend the time to find the problem properly. What areas do you cover in the UK?
We cover a huge area. If you have any enquiry, please get in touch by sending us an email or through instagram. All of our details are linked in the description.
Thank you!
Well done boys, the secret to being happy is to be your own boss, your on your way ,keep going.
You guys are brilliant!!!!
Well done lads great work👍
Love your videos guys, great work please keep making them💪💪💪
The insulation in the coil pack is designed to insulate up to a certain voltage the normal spark voltage is around 20,000 volts this is sufficient to jump a spark plug gap of around 1 mm. When your spark plug gap increases the coil pack spark voltage increases to jump the bigger gap, when the spark initiates it instantly dissipates the spark voltage. When this high voltage is initiated by the coil pack its desperately trying to escape to ground it does this by jumping the spark plug gap. If its not able to do this, because the spark plug gap has increased, the voltage will reach a maximum before the magnetic field reduces. It is possible to generate excessive high voltage that could arc over, break down the insulation, inside the ignition coil, which could destroy it. Coil pack should not be allowed to generate high voltage without a spark plug attached to dissipate the high voltage energy you might destroy a good coil pack. Cheap coil packs will be more susceptible because they are more likely to have inferior insulation material?
He torques his spark plugs... Impressive!
Best to for two reasons, one is that they need tightening enough to crush the lock ring and make a seal, two so not to snap them in the head of a customers car, very big headache avoidance technique
Nice job boys
Yes a ST rebuild would be great
John is crazy love him 😂
knock the tabs in on your axle stands guys, they help keep the teeth ingauged and could possibly save a visit to the A&E...
I’m with a few people on here that grooved discs are only for de glazing the pad so does it really matter that much which way they go and the fact he had road race pads (yellow stuff) the grooves will be gone in a couple of years
Yes I’m speaking from experience on that one
It probably does matter as it will likely wear the pads down quicker if not fitted correctly. Also I believe EBC did label them correctly, they didn't take into account the difference in leading and trailing calipers.
I always thought Motorcraft was OEM for Ford not hella hells is still a good German part though
Quality work.
Much appreciated
4:13 16:25 you 2 crack me up always great content
When pushing caliper back was bleed nipple open
I hope not, best to open the master cylinder reservoir keeping an eye on the level, remove fluid as/if needed.
If the discs are ever grooved wrong just reverse to the shops.
That also makes sense 😂
How about random missfire for diesel as they don't have spark plugs
I thought the grooves took away the pad debris under braking
Great vid, I would suggest with the Ka - if it’s obvs the the client has been living with a misfire for a while - do an oil change too. Oil will be stinking with petrol
Can’t agree enough mate. I’ve suggested that and booked him at the time of the repair. Thank you mate
Great channel, it’s fab to see enterprising young men busy making money. Young people have always been hammered in the news and it’s been going on years.
Hey how are you good Job
I’m good I’m good thank you!
Hi guys I don't think it's a heat thing it's more to do with stopping the pads from glazing.. It's all blink anyway let's face it it's the fronts that do all the work👍
Bling.. 😊
Is it only the A14XER that is common? Or the 1.0 and 1.2 as well?
Isnt that an Mot fail if the drivers door doesnt open from the outside?
Groves are to dissipate the gases
Grooves direction is not that important, it the veins if vented that need to be oriented correctly. The grooves release gases produced under braking. Still it would still do my head in they were not symmetrical
Why did john look like he was doing the haka behind near the end of the video? I know what it represents so was that his reason? 😝
Bought a new car recently and found two plugs with the ends broke off. No idea how the thing even started
👍🏻😀
Are you pressing the accelerator cause it was idling quite high or is that normal for a Ford ka
Cold idle. It settled to about 750 after. Pretty normal to be over 1k
Could I just ask, which Autel are you using? I’m considering one but not sure which to go for (Also a Mobile Mech)
I’m currently using Autel MS919
The discs are installed correctly
I thought as much. This will be a debate here for sure 😂
@@themarvelousvlogI had a mechanic do them the wrong way once on my car and after I called the manufacturer they said they needed to be installed sweeping backwards just like you did.
I just can't take john seriously 😂
Even his parents can’t believe that he exists 😂
@@themarvelousvlog 😂😂😂😭😭😭
Jon needs his own channel 😂
1:07 is that the customer watching you lol 😂
Yhup! He don’t trust other mechanics as they failed to diagnose his car and still charged him 😂
lucky those ka ford plugs didnt shear off in the head...thats why ford never change them in a service, makes it someone elses problem...
kumusta ka
EBC fault..... 😊
Call them and see what they say 🤔
Sounded like a belt or two were squealing..... Need a change? Horrible sound
You even do not know what is CAN BUS and what is not...educate yourself
Grooves really only count if vented with fins , wouldn’t worry lol for example miltek say anyway if not vented .
