    Bought this pattern last night. Can’t wait to sew it this afternoon. Already bought and Marilyn pattern and made 3 wallets from that. I’m super dyslexic so reading patterns is not my strong point. These video tutorials are a massive game changer for me!!! Thank you for taking the time to make them 🥰🥰🥰

      What a nice compliment! They are a lot of work but I know that we all learn in different ways so I believe they’re important to offer so thanks so much for telling me you appreciate them! 😭

      Linds Handmade Designs well I definitely appreciate it! I don’t get half as confused with the video, so don’t end up wasting loads of fabric 🤣 finished my Demi wallet the afternoon! I’ll add it to the picture of my review! 😬

    This video is so helpful! I bought the pattern a while back and made my first go at it last night. My first attempt is far from perfect, but it is functional and looks pretty dang good for a beginner! Thank you for including this video!

    Has anyone had an issue with the final stage of sewing the back on? I found the mis of vinyl on the back with canvass (thin type) inside so bulky on the top corners near to the zip - it all looks great up until that point. Has anyone sewn vinyl seams wrong sides together to avoid bulky seams?

    Love your patterns for wallets. Do I have to put two clear vinyl windows? Maybe just one would work?

      Not at all! If you prefer one, that’s fine. It won’t affect anything. I just tend to like things to be symmetrical. ☺️

    Glad I used crappy fabric for the first sew....many mistakes but now I know! Also glad I didnt use my new industrial machine but guess I should have! Anyway looking forward to making more of these gems!

    Hi Blessings. What peltex type is it the one you used? And is the sewing machine an indusrial one? Im asking before buying the pattern as I dont want to have issues with my domestic sewing machine

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  Před 3 lety +1

      The peltex does not need to be fusible since it’s inserted at the end of a step. All my patterns are tested on domestic machines so it can be done. I just prefer to use my industrial machine for most of my makes because I have it.

    So I tried this and i had to throw it away. I tried using cork and interfaced CL and when I attached the zipper and pocket lining on the flap side it was super bulky. Even top stitching the bulk wouldnt lay down flat. I tried to ignore it and keep going but then when I went to sew 3/8" around to sew it all together, the flap was so wide it would only do half that!! So frustrated. I kept to the seam allowance on the flap and it didnt work. Wasted too much

      Ugh sorry to hear that! With anything this small, I can’t emphasize enough how important accurate cutting and seam allowances are. I wouldn’t give up. Try it again in cotton to work it all out the first time and then jump into the harder stuff like cork/vinyl or leather.

    This has been a frustrating sew. 1) the instructions need to include a link to this video. 2) the photos in the instructions should have been of a lighter colored wallet instead of a black one. 3) It is impossible to install the closure through that long, skinny space. I have very small hands and it was miserable. I couldn't even get the washer on.
