The actual song is about poor versus rich. The pig man is the wealthy man with the money. Basically someone invites Mr Rich over to their place, which is poor, with bad water and pretty much very substandard. Mr Rich wants to leave but he won't let him until tomorrow. Basically "live a night in our shoes". Don't judge, you have all you need. Seeing the gap getting bigger between them. Rich gets richer, poor get poorer.

I was a teen when this came out and loved the tune but hated the video because it was creepy. Thanks for explaining that, as I never looked into it. I feel better now. 😄

Sorry the band fell off the radar for you, their later works Neon Ballroom and Diorama are masterpieces in my opinion and pushed Silverchair well beyond their grunge counterparts.

thanks for reviewing this ✌️ In Australia they come out a little earlier and i remember being age 11 at the time and became a fan, went to their concerts. Their music changed through each album and basically was what i listened to throught my teens.😊

Listen to their first release the 4 song EP Tomorrow....after they won the Triple J unearthed competition....Tomorrow Acid Rain Stoned and Blind....all rocking songs written by a bunch of young 14/15 year old kids from working class Newcastle Australia 💪👍

That song resonates w what’s goin in the world today.
I adore Silverchair. I live very close to their hometown. They won a music contest then released tomorrow when they were only about 15. It went straight to number 1 in Australia for weeks and their impact on Aussie youth was huge and can't be understated. The version of the video and song you watched was re -recorded for the American market. They were similar in ways to nirvana at first but evolved over time. I much prefer them to nirvana, and I really like nirvana. Another huge song for them was Freak, probably my favourite so I suggest that for a reaction. I also suggest the songs Cementry, Anthem for the year 2000 (sounds a bit outdated talking about the year 2000 but as relevant as ever being about the government and media being puppets doing what there told to control us) and Ana's song (song the lead singer wrote about his battle with Anorexia). I Also suggest the songs straight lines and greatest view. They are not my favourites but really show how their sound evolved. Since the band split the lead singer has struggled with mental health issues and had some problems and controversies. However he had a solo album out this past year that briefly went to number 1 in Australia. When my brother was only about 10 years old he was near the lead singers house and went and knocked on his door and asked for a autograph, on a poster he pinched from one of my teen magazines. My brother has now passed away but we still have the autograph 🥰.

One of my favorite songs of all time. Sing it often. Maybe too much. Seriously under appreciated band, I think in no small part due to their age. Being so young, and with that, attracting a very young following, especially young females, sort of pigeonholed them. They were sort of seen as, figuratively speaking, a "teen" band. I was 20 when Frogstomp came out, and initially sort of dismissed them as well. I came around eventually, and by the time their second album came out in 97', and I also watched their live performance at MuchMusic promoting that album, I was fully on board.
I have the full show in low quality video on my HD but it seems to have been removed form youtube. *edit* This is the same one I have on my hard drive, but it's on a different channel, and has very low views, which is perhaps how it has escaped deletion. The audio is quite solid with headphones and the video, while not great, gets the job done. It has a mix of songs from their first 2 albums, Frogstomp and Freak Show. They are very impressive here in my opinion. Dad or Dashy might enjoy it if either has the time/inclination. czcams.com/video/2zPUf6kZblY/video.html

Yes silverchair ended in 2010 actually, while making their 6th album. Lead singer Daniel wasn't into the whole Silverchair music anymore and wasn't enjoying music or what he'd have to do with a completed silverchair album( touring, interviews, lots of talking and promoting the album). The music company and 2 other members wanted the usual silverchair sounding, but Daniel was far past that music and was more into creating new sounds. Hence it didn't go down well with the others and Daniel started doing solo stuff. Daniel and Ben (drummer) were best friends but now do not talk at all, and haven't since then. Daniel has had 2 very successful solo albums out. and will be releasing a movie about his life. (What if tomorrow never happened??). Already been made but not released yet.

Silverchair got lumped into the grunge movement like Candlebox did, but neither were grunge. You should react to Candlebox. The song “You” is an absolute legend IMO.

Great Song from a Wonderful Album. Saw them on Tour supporting Frog Stomp opening for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The Chili Peppers were good but I Enjoyed Silverchair more.
