Yes you can, it depends on how dense is the narrative in the game. In the case of Bioshock 1 the narrative is good but quite lean. Plus it only takes 12 hours ( in average) to beat it and out of the 12 hours how many of it is narrative content? Very little. Definitely doable in a movie. I’m more afraid of them turning everyone gay, or with a disability for the sake of a good ESG rating.

@@awesomereviews1561 it'd still suck compared to a 6-8 hour long episodes. A movie would be a rushed two hours, losing little things along the way. There's no room for nuance. BioShock is a story driven game. You can do a movie with Mario. That's a lean story. With a movie we'll get another disappointing adaptation, like Assassin's Creed. And buddy if your concern is gay characters, you have insecurity issues you should deal with before you need to start worrying about movies. Go watch Uwe Boll films, that may be more your pace.

I love bioshock but I don’t think this should be a movie. It should be a series, at least a limited one. It’s world is so huge and to condense it to just one movie would not do it any favors. I’ll probably still check it out because I love the series so much I’m still curious but I’m still unsure about this 😬
While I agree there are a lot of people who will miss out on this fantastic story just because it is a video game, and I can't help but feel sorry for them.
Bioshock-remaster and some mechanics reworked Bioshock 3-remaster, expanded story and some minor gameplay changes Bioshock Infinite-put back some of the deleted content and remaster graphics
I already have a dream cast for the movie, apparently they already announced the writer and director for the film, I know they won’t choose these actors for this film…but I figured I’d share my casting choices anyway… ⚠️⛔️SPOILER WARNING FOR BIOSHOCK 1 AND 2 FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN’T PLAYED THE GAMES⛔️⚠️ Right off the bat….Johnny Depp as Andrew Ryan, Mark Strong as Fontaine/Atlas, Emily Blunt or Scarlet Johansson as Brigid Tenenbaum, Hayley Atwell as Julia Langford, Reese Witherspoon as Diane McClintock, Margot Robbie as Jasmine Jolene, BD Wong as Dr.Suchong, Cillian Murphy or John Waters as Sander Cohen, David Dastmalchian as Dr.Steinman, Jessica Lange or Tilda Swinton as Sofia Lamb, Angela Bassett or Octavia Spencer as Grace Holloway, Charlie day as Stanley Poole, Jeremy Renner as Gilbert Alexander, Bob Odenkirk as Augustus Sinclair. Tyler Perry or Winston Duke as Charles Milton Porter Pedro Pascal or Antonio Banderas as Reed Whal For Jack I think a number of actors could play him considering he has no speaking role(except for the beginning of the game and the occasional noises he makes during the game.) the top 3 choices for me at least are Logan Lerman, Devon Sawa, or Steve Howey. The reason why I’m putting the cast of each character from BioShock 1 and 2 here is in case they take the movie one of two ways. One way they’ll explain the origin of rapture and the eventual fall of the city or start off where Jack travels through the city in which we would only need the characters from the 1st game. And now for the cast for BioShock Infinite.(possible spoilers for BioShock Infinite.) Theo James or Josh Hutcherson or Joe Keery as Booker Dewitt/Zachary Comstock Paul dano as Robert Lutece Rachael Taylor as Rosalind Lutece Chloë Grace Moretz or Jenna Coleman or Thomasin McKenzie as Elizabeth/Anna David Harbour as Cornelius Slate Cynthia Addai robinson or Keke Palmer as Daisy Fitzroy Hon ping tang as Chen Lin Sandra Oh as Mrs.Lin Lady Gaga or Natalie Portman as Alternate universe Mrs.Lin Rami Malek or Adam Driver as Jeremiah Fink Sarah Paulson or Jennifer Garner as Lady Comstock I’m including the 3rd game in case they want to make a BioShock trilogy by continuing with the 3rd installment
I don't know how i feel about this one if they based the movie off of the first two games it could work pretty well going off of horror films set under the sea like Lords of the Deep ect and they could make it as atrilogy
Guys, what's the fuss? Have you seen Netflix's other game adaptations? Plus, it's being written by one of the co-creators of Blue Eye Samurai. I'd say it's already in good hands
My personal opinion, this is not a game that needs a adaptation and will probably be ruined and not follow the game at all, then we'll get a lot of people that have not even played the game think they'll know BioShock " from watching it as a movie, The Last Of US was a adaptation that did work, but this feels like it'll be a cash grab, just my 2 cents.
Girlboss? Like Elizabeth or Tennenbaum? Do you know anything abt this game btw? How can anyone go woke with Bioshock It criticises traditional America. Both games. So by your logic it's already woke.
Although I love Bioshock, please stop with your fake platitudes. Witcher went woke, alienated fans, lost viewers and its main star. Resident Evil was a viewing figure disaster. PLEASE be honest!
Needs to be a series. You can't fit a 15-30 hour experience into a 2 hour movie. Series format is best for story driven game adaptations.
Exactly

All I gotta say is stick to the frickin IP, but I'm sure that plea will fall on deaf ears.
Yup. Netflix will definitely wokify it. As they do with every adaptation they put out.
I want a 4th next gen Bioshock game.
It might be awesome. Have to take a chance, just in case. Besides, a bad movie won’t ruin the games.
You don’t know how long I have been waiting for this
Me too
Too bad it's going to be a steaming pile of woke garbage. Tends to happen when it comes to Netflix.
I don't think anyone can call The Witcher adaptation was a SUCCESS.
Similar to resident evil
Season one was fantastic,season 2 average,season 3 below average
There are a lot of video game storys that are fantastic, I hope more are given proper consideration.
Bioshock is probably best and can be explored most.
A movie in the Bioshock universe should be about the events before the first game. About the coming fall.
I hope the movie won't fail.
It will. Netflix always turns things into steaming piles of woke garbage. This will most likely be the same.
Bioshock is so F*N good, even I could write a scipt and win at least 3 Oscars

1 and 2 are masterpieces and 3 is a joke because the original game play that dropped was awesome but then the real one dropped.
Don’t need a movie of it. Leave it alone.

The resident evil franchise was a success on Netflix? Since when?

I hope they don't fuck this up. Maybe, more people will play the games? More physical rereleases of the games and merch for the games?
Good or bad it will get more people to play the video game.
Seen it on imdb 8 years ago but said cancelled

ANOTHER franchise about to be ruined
My thoughts exactly. Probably going to be filled with girlbosses and other woke garbage.
It's hopeless.

So by your logic it's already woke.
It's already ruined with Burial at Sea.
It's dead right now, so whatever they do with it, ot can be only better
Please don’t ruin the greatest video game story ever made….they need to make a series in all honesty
Why does every vid by this site have incorrect word pronunciation? Deco is not an obscure word.😤
Hopefully they don't "put a chicken in it and make it lame and gay."
Just play the game. 🙄
The only successful adaptation netflix made are castlevania, arcane and Edgeruuner. Witcher and resident evil were failtures.
Netflix + bad ending of bioshock 1 is guaranteed trash. The whole thing of Infinite is with the DLC and the good ending of bioshock 1...

No thanks. Its being made by Netflix. So we know its going to be a steaming pile of woke garbage.

The super Mario Brothers movie shows that some games shouldn't be made in to movies
