About this Porn Reboot Channel: Hi. I am Dr. Trish Leigh, a Cognitive Neuroscientist. I am on a mission to help people heal their brains from porn use. My videos are designed to help you learn that:
Porn Damages Your Brain, Mental and Physical Health, and Destroys Your Relationships.
    1. Brain Shrinkage and Underactivity: It shrinks the size of your brain and decreases brain activity, among other damaging effects. It is true! I wish it wasn’t, but it is true.
    2. Porn is bad for your mental health. It creates more anxiety, depression, moodiness, irritability, anger, and more.
    3. Porn is proven to ruin your relationships. 2x as likely to break up and get divorced.
I would love for you to watch these videos to:
    • Understand how porn is negatively impacting your brain, health, and life.
    • How to stop watching porn, which can be difficult due to its addictive nature.
    • How to heal your brain from porn use.
Every video has a strategy for you to use in your Porn Brain Reboot journey. So… watch the videos until the END and start using the techniques to help you succeed. You can do it with the right tools and support. That is why I am here. Go for it!
    Want More Help?
I am here for you in more ways than just this channel. I have created 3 programs in 3 different levels to provide you with the support that you need at a price you can afford.

Just discovered this channel, and I’m looking forward to diving deeper into it. I’ve been regularly using porn for almost 10 years now (which seems crazy to me), but I’ve only recently began to think of it as a true addiction. It was always just “something I did that I didn’t want to do,” but the word “addiction” felt too harsh. However, calling it what it is has helped me discover new ways of tackling my problem, and for the first time in a long time, I feel hopeful in my journey towards recovery. Thank you, Dr. Trish Leigh, for being an advocate for those of us who feel too beaten down to speak up about this real problem. I hope that someday, when this kind of thing feels like an old nightmare, I can be brave enough to help others suffering with this same thing. That’d be the dream.

5:48 This is entirely true. And to those of you guys who say "but well masturbating to porn just once won't destroy my project, or my relationship or this or that", the problem is that when you do something just once you do it quite intensely in a way that will lead you to do it again, and believe it or not these addictive cycles and patterns you pave in your brain soon start destroying 1. Your mental performance 2. Your sexual performance 3. Your psichosocial performance (that is how your brain sees and reacts to other people, especially the sex you're attracted to) 4. Your phisical performance (this is real, when the body and the brain are tied to an addiction gaining phisical results becomes harder, you need total focus). FOCUS YOURSELF. (I'm actually telling this to myself)

Fighting a desire is only going to strengthen it, for what you resist will persist as the "fight" gives more attention and energy to the thing you're fighting. This is why various forms of "addiction" treatment have extremely high relapse rates. The "urge" for pornography is really a misdirected desire to find happiness and thus freedom from something you're not comfortable with in life. Wisdom and intelligent analysis of the false belief/fears driving the urges is the key, fighting your own thoughts is futile mental masturbation.

I think a huge benefit can also come from practicing awareness through meditation or meditative coupled tasks such as yoga (breathe awareness) and musical Practice (sonic awareness).
Yoga and Mindfulness practice is an extremely useful practice to build up the initial control over your internal dialogue and “hijacker” thoughts to properly use the technique stated in the video.
Starting both together is even more beneficial!
It may be hard and seem obscure in the beginning but everything worth it is initially challenging. I have practiced these techniques and the technique stated in the video.
After committed practice I went from basically total lack of control and awareness of my internal thought and hijacker to mush more stabilized mental awareness and control over what/how I think and perceive the world.
These strategies work, breathe, approach them slowly with intention and the benefits will begin to show much sooner than you may think. And remember that the path to live your destiny comes with initial internal suffering.
Remember if it doesn’t feel mentally challenging, the brain isn’t learning or changing at all. Slow progress with intention ❤️😌

If it wasn't for porn I wouldn't know sex was even a part of life. I really don't think much of porn anyway, I only use it when I feel some pent up energy and use it to just "self serve", after that I just forget about it until the next time, and at my age, "next times" don't happen that frequently anymore. I wish I could approach women but Single/divorced ladies today are angry, gay, or otherwise unavailable and it's too high a risk for me to either get arrested or sued for harassment. Stop thinking of porn as your enemy. Think of porn as a boring loser. Engage with porn when you want sometimes, stop trying to fight it all the time. Realize it's not that great and kind of lame. Start enjoying other things like spirituality and acts of kindness and exercise. Know in the back of your mind that porn is there if you really need it, but you also kind of don't need it because it's a boring loser.

I would like to give a different perspective , firstly don't fight the urge or even think about it.
Treat that urge as a phase and try busying yourself up when you get in that cycle and please for god’ sake stay away from any potential source of porn like mobiles, PC or any other multimedia device. There's an old saying " what you try to resist , persists" . So don't start a fight in your head about what's wrong or right ,just let it come and watch it go ,because no thought is permanent.

Hello Dr.Trish Leigh, I really appreciate these videos of yours, they motivate me to not give up even though I feel sometimes fighting this urge feels impossible to overcome at times. Either way I wanted to ask you about your statement about the brain shrinking, if this is so will the brain stay like this even if the person already recuperated from an addiction or is there a chance for it to grow after? This is a concern of mine and something that I've noticed you mention in your other videos, a nice explanation of this would be helpful and thank you so much for your videos. You're changing peoples lives!!!

Years ago, I didn’t ha r a problem, but the internet, smartphone and a divorce started to disrupt my life. Nice video. To the point. Helped me as since a few days i have been little less happy and bit unsettled. Though i had the awareness since i have been doing nofap about 250+ days. I was talking to myself that by taking things lightly and watching somethings here and there i have lost the absolute control i had gained so let me just waitout with a few days of proper conducd and it has to get back to normal mode. So this video helped. Where i am i think it is a good idea that i stay cool and just breathe easy and wait it out. It feels like a sandcloak one side is gaining power and the other is losing power. Good or bad depends on what we standing for at any time..

I wish to place on record my heartfelt gratitude for this lady. I am 50 now and I first had nightfall when I was 19 and since then it was all down the way, and I just couldn't get rid of porn and masturbation since then. Your videos are the only ones which have generated confidance in me.
Now a days I sort of think along these lines when the urge becomes excessive:-
I close my eyes and visualise all the different scenarios and pornstars and allow the events to playout in my mind. Then I ask myself where do you feel the pleasure. Then I answer to myself in the mind. So then I say to myself if the pleasure is in the mind why not focus on the pleasure in the mind why watch porn. Then I visualise what if the body was dead, would you have sex with a dead body. Both these thoughts just put my mind off. And I regain control.
Once again deep gratitude for Dr Leigh with all my heart

Hello everyone and Hello Dr. Trish
Today I can proudly say I had my first victory over the hijacker and let me tell you to inspire you, the same way that Dr. Trish Leigh inspire us.
Im on this Journey for 2 weeks since writing this comment and finding these golden Videos.
After Mass today (Sunday, July 18th), I took a nap and to bed.
As I was starting to wake up from my nap, the Urge hit me, mind you I didn't watch porn for 2 weeks and didn't masturbate, I suffer from Withdraw Symptoms.
But then, I followed Dr. Trish's advice, and I said to the hijacker, "The wheel is mine and I won't let you take it, never again".
I felt bad, I felt a headache, there was a war going on inside of my head, but the spirit of Christ and Dr. Trish advice prevailed.
The force of Darkness and Porn had lost to the power of Light, of purity and holiness.
Keep up the good fight my dear friends, you are not alone on this Journey!
    We will win!
