I don’t even think it was all on him though. You could drive a semi truck through the middle of the field on our defense today and that’s exactly what the Lions did. Combine that with plenty of dropped passes, and I gotta admit, I’m surprised it was as close as it was in the end. At least we didn’t get blown out. And while he did throw 2 picks, he also had an o-line that couldn’t block for shit. He clearly made those throws under duress. He does need to work on throwing the ball away instead of taking the sack and being able to extend plays outta the pocket with his feet, but I’ll be damned if I’m not happy with how my Bucs performed this year!

If our defense would’ve shown up in the second half the Bucs would’ve won that game. O-line and Defense need massive improvement. Resign Baker and Mike. Grab a RB that could compliment White and this team will be golden. I could see Baker have a better year next year as long as he keeps grinding in the off-season.
Bucs are going nowhere with the Baker. His uncanny ability to hold the ball too long has proven costly, along with untimely interceptions.

Look at Mike Evans this year. 1200+ years with 13 TDs this year in the regular season. Hell of a season for him.
As a Tampa fan I am pleasantly pleased with his performance this year for us. He is a steady, ready, and capable qb for us and I hope they extend him for at least a 3 year bridge contract.
Don't be surprised if Atlanta swoops in and grabs him. Just happy to see my Lions back in the NFC championship again after so many years.

That was honestly a game i was happy for either winner. I was rooting for the Lions but i was also rooting for Baker bc he got done SO WRONG by Cleveland. Im a Steelers fan but justice is justice
The kid has SO much talent and potential. What he's truly lacked has been consistency. Not talking about his performance consistency. You nailed it. So many different coaches and systems in so few years is a recipe for failure for almost ANY QB. In a stable system with the right pieces, I wouldn't be surprised to see him continue to put up numbers and seasons like this. He deserves a legit shot and has shown he deserves to be playing on more than a one year deal.
He’s definitely in an offense that could make Joe off the street look good. Needs a RB who can give the opposition a scare and a defense that can pull its weight.

Im no Mayfield fan but I respect the hell out of him for doing what hes done. Hes not just a quarterback. Hes a true football player. Hes never visibly rattled and will play to the bestof his ability no matter what. He deserved this season and the playoff win. Wish he was still in it. Hes fun to watch.

I will speak for all of us. Obviously, there are some who dont. But as a whole, we want Baker. We believe in him.
Hes saying he will essentially take less money to keep guys here. With the cap space we have next season, more chemistry, and bring in some players we need to help where we need it. And Tampa can be dangerous.
I'm a Lions fan and obviously happy with the outcome of this recent game. I mean, we not only won 1 playoff game but two playoff games.
With that said, I have a lot of respect for Baker and always liked him. He's got a lot of heart, and he's a baller. He's always been an underdog and a throw away, and I really wish him the best. I'd love to see the guy get a Super Bowl some day to really put a good stamp on his career.

I didn't like the Mayfield hire at all. Now, I'd be pissed if they let him get away. With the exception of the forced pass at the end of the game, he was the main reason they were in it at that point. All the drops (especially Evans and Otten) and the missed blocking assignments are what killed them tonight. That first INT should go to Evans, because Baker hit him right in the hands.

Look, Baker is a great quarterback and always has been. That's just how we do it in Oklahoma. 3 of 3 Big 12 Chips, the Mahomes Texas Tech (59) vs. Mayfield OU (66) bout, turning around the BROWNS for crying out loud (attempted anyway), the 98 yard game-winning drive while on the Rams - that was crunch time in under 2 mins, learning like 8 or 9 offenses now in his NFL career (drafted in 2018), while currently leading (before the AFC & NFC championships) the NFL this postseason in passing yards and TDs, Baker has always been a great quarterback and the Browns really squandered their chance with him. He more than deserves a home in the NFL, he shows it time and time again.

I think Mayfield's mindset and Arians' coaching make for a hell of a pairing - Mayfield's biggest problem those first 2-3yrs was himself. Yeah, the constant coach changeups was an issue but he came into the league as "Manziel Lite". That being said, he's matured quite a bit and seems to have found his home in Tampa. You've gotta give credit when/where due and Mayfield has grown ALOT from the spotlight seeking kid to a guy willing to grind it out in Carolina and then actively fight for a starting position in Tampa
Baker played for the Rams after the Panthers last season before joining the Bucs this year. In addition, Bruce Arians is not the head coach, it's been Todd Bowles.
I understand Baker was a little arrogant coming out of college but I think people forgot he was only in his early 20’s.

I don’t think we were wrong about Baker. Dude didn’t have a blazing start to his career but he has had 8 different coaches and 6 offensive coordinators! Like how did anyone else expect one to grow with such turmoil? And to top it off people got unreal expectations for rookie QB’s to come in the league lighting everything up! Got to give rookies time and got to be patient and give people time in general to develop.
Baker is a solid QB though and can start for many franchises that need a QB!
