I always appreciate how Pat is always on his guest’s side. He’s not there trying to bring him down like some scummy reporters, instead he builds them up and tries to get their perspective on things. He allows them to get their voice out there in a way that sometimes these guys haven’t been able to before.
He is so good at getting players that hate interviews to go on his show. I mean Aaron Rodgers goes on his show every Tuesday and Justin Herbert is in every year. He even had Justin Herbert blushing. How can you not love Pat McAfee

Fellow Saints fan here, and I fully agree with you! I'm a huge CFB fan and watched a lot of Bakers college games, and I've always felt like he got the short end of the stick thus far in his career both in the game and the media. He's been through a lot, but I wish him nothing but the best as long as he ain't playing us.

I feel like no one can hate on baker. Seeing the lack of offensive success in Cleveland since he left and seeing him succeed has kinda quieted the haters. He works his ass off, isn’t the locker room distraction some portrayed him as early on. I’ve never left the Baker train and I’m glad it’s still rolling.

Why "Toxic" LOL there was just as many fans who supported Baker as there was who wanted him to go. As I recall the media was where most of the toxicity came from, early in his career and even more so after the OBJ video.

Also I didn't want Watson and thought Baker should have gotten at least one more season. I wish he would have just step away and went and had surgery instead of finishing the season, letting Kevin Stefanski try an embarrass him like he did.

Long time browns here, and I will always root for baker. He was the starting point of turning our franchise around he won us our first playoff game in forever. He should have gotten heathly before playing again but he is killing it in Tampa.

People forget baker was drafted to a team that went 1-31 in the two previous seasons which is almost impossibly bad and in his rookie year got them to .500 not even starting the whole season, then brought them to the playoffs and beat their division rival, and played injured and THEY had the audacity to no re-sign HIM 🤣

Bills fan here. I’m really happy for Mayfield and wish him continued success. It was sad how things ended for him in Cleveland, but I’m glad things have turned around for him. He really has shown a lot of growth and he looks like he’s having a lot of fun again.
Baker is the reason I started watching football again. I was so fed up with the bs and when I started hearing the debating him in the draft and when it seemed the whole of nfl against him I was a fan instantly.
Coming from a Browns fan, Baker deserved better. He was playing with a torn labrum & several other injuries & got ran out of town when he didn’t preform well. Dude brought us our first playoff win in decades, can’t take that from him🤷♂️ I’ll always root for him
And lost at KC in the playoffs and he played well enough to win. He wasn't elite though, but ppl forget Baker met his blindside left tackle before the game cause of Covid and his starting right guard was taking practice snaps in a parking garage two weeks earlier. Oh and he had a new coaching staff/new offensive system every year but one aside from the injuries. All of that and took a door mat team to the playoffs

Ravens fan here wasn’t a fan of baker early in his career he felt a bit cocky but his stints on the panthers rams and now bucs can say I’m def rooting for the guy. He gave the city of Cleveland more than they deserved and played through pain when their new boy Watson can’t play without a masseuse and happy ending machine near him😂.
Browns messed up turning on this guy. he had like 3 injuries and was still barely losing games, including his whole throwing side. Baker is showing what he can do with a properly built team. might be the next Testaverde. Go Baker!
I remember watching the packers vs browns Christmas game and him playing his best even though he was hurt. That proved to me that the browns messed up
Cleveland forgets they were 1-31 in the two seasons before Baker got there. He literally turned that franchise from the worst team in the NFL to a playoff winning team in only 2 years. The OBJ drama didn't help anything either.
Agreed. 2018: led us to 6-10 whilst only playing 13 of those games. 2019: Freddie Kitchens 2020: playoffs: 2021: Injured. The only reliable tape of Baker Mayfield on the Browns was the 2020 season and he balled out.

He's way more relaxed than he was even earlier in the year, kinda feel he had a bit if a chip on his shoulder. He also needed a leash for his ego and I think we are seeing the best Baker. I still dont understand how you can come in with seeing the playbook for 2 days and win a game on a struggling Rams team, dont think he ever got enough credit for that.

Im a Bucs fan and Im not gonna lie, i didnt expect much from him after his destroyed shoulder and everything hes gone through the last few years. But what I have to say is that you can think hes not "the guy" but he puts everything he has on that field and Ive gained ao much more respect for him in watching the way hes played and the way he leads the Bucs. I liked him in Cleveland for his moxie and grit Im very happy now to say hes our quarterback. Im glad he loves Tampa cause Id be okay if he sticks around awhile.

Being a Browns fan for my whole life I grew up knowing we sucked. I'm only old enough to really appreciate 2011 till now and all I knew was losing, every single year. Baker is what changed it, it was so amazing to see the Browns and they looked competent and they would win games! I loved Baker and truly felt he was like Josh Allen, a project QB who needs time and support. When he got hurt in 21, I have to believe they knew for somehow someway we could never win a superbowl with him. Always good, never great, is the worst place to be stuck. So we let him die out there, even though we had Case Keenum who isn't perfect but is a good game manager and we still threw Baker out there. We did him so wrong. I wanted him to have one more year to prove it. Hope he keeps killing it down there in Tampa. When Baker is locked in, healthy, and confident, he is a Top 10 QB and I will stand by that. He is head and shoulder above danny dimes who is getting 40 million a year may I remind you.

I lived in Ohio and loved how he pushed through injuries and made the Browns relevant again. They suck without him. I hope he becomes a hall of fame guy! So much respect! The best!
Simple. Greg Williams, for all his faults and foibles, had the Browns headed in the right direction and Mayfield comfortable, confident, and playing well. Politics reared it's always ugly head in Cleveland who canned Williams and it all went south. Glad to see Baker in a seemingly good place again.

Much more important than that was losing Dorsey. He was a great talent evaluator, just look at Detroit now, and Baker's biggest ally.
Of course Dorsey made a huge mistake hiring Kitchens, so I mean he kinda dug his own grave. But it put Baker on thin ice with Stefanski and Berry, since he wasnt the guy they picked.

Especially after he reinjured it getting pulled down by Watt against AZ. I get it at 3-1 leaving him in, even if they beat Minn in spite of him and it was obvious he couldn't throw right. But they were 3-1, and in the next week he had a great game against the Chargers (a game the refs stole from the Browns. So again, they were still winning and should have won that game. But then he got smashed again in another losing effort against AZ, and looked bad again (except the insane Hail mary to DPJ). Once he couldn't play on the short week and they went to Keenum, that's when the organization should have just made the decision for him.

I’m a Texan Fan but since his College Days I’ve always been a fan of Baker Mayfield. His smack talking & play that backs it up is really exciting. The Brown Clowns dropped the ball by letting Mayfield go & then paying Watson that ridiculous contract that will never pay off.. I think Tampa Bay lucked out getting Baker & they’ll be contenders for years to come if their Core Group stays healthy. After the Texans I’ll be rooting for Tampa Bay. Byron calling plays & Mayfield slinging the leather is a serious threat to any team!!
I’ve been team Baker since day one. And this just makes me love him even more. I mean, he took the Brahns to the playoffs. And won a playoff game for Cleveland for the first time in a thousand years. No easy feat. Baker is the man. Keep tearing it up in Tampa. It’s fun to watch.

The greatest thing about him coming to Tampa, they invest in their guys and treat them well. Licht doesn’t just draft on skill, he drafts on character. There’s a culture of down to earth winners in the Bucs locker room which is the best place baker can be.

It is probably unfair since a team isn't just one person, but hey that's life

It's not unfair because those positions have more responsibility in the game though all positions have points where they can fail the entire team, the coach and the qb have more of those points, by far, so that is why the majority of people naturally point to those two things, instead of going straight to the left tackle giving up pressures or sacks.

I just can’t believe that no one involved with this show or no one close to pat will sit him down and say “pat, listen, you’re funny, the show works, but you seriously HAVE to simplify these questions and ask one thing at a time. You have to stop asking 5 questions at once in long run-on paragraphs. Ask a question, get them talking about it, and then steer them into follow up territory.
