Sometimes my engine cranks for some seconds but it eventually starts, sometimes it starts right away with no problem, sometimes it starts and I get yellow spring with engine problem, visit workshop or steering column lock defective and it turns off immediately, but 2nd time it starts. Lately it starts but shuts down right after, but if I clear the codes with an obd reader it starts and run with no problem. The faults I'm getting are electronic steering column lock control module j764, electronic steering column lock check sum error and steering column lock enabling for electronic ignition lock. Could it be some bad wiring since sometimes it runs with no problem and sometimes it gives this errors but still runs?

However also known is that steering lock control unit is prone to fail to, this unit known as convenience control unit. So a diagnostic check with an scanner is require to understand the exact cause of message being displayed. To be noted that control unit usually fails due to a faulty steering lock, and in this situation both have to be replaced. As for steering lock we always advise to have a new unit convenience unit can be replaced with an used one as long as there are no internal faults registered in its memory.
