Good video, Tim. One thing I gave learned...do not get fertilizer or cattle salt around the gator. That stuff will cause rust even though you rinse it off. That stuff is relentless...the rust will come. I just keep it away from the equipment I love. Have a great growing season.

Tim that's the good education Catrill is getting that you are paying for. She's smart on the answer. Ps your soil looks great with your tiller,by the way I wish I had your two row planter and you had a feather and we'd both be tickled.

We always use 19-19-19 as a starter fertilizer at planting. Get's applied 1" beside the corn in a furrow. Then at the V7 leaf stage (about 18" tall) We side dress Urea. The corn needs the p&k to set roots and develop. Also run a very low rate of 46-0-0 on a lawn, a little too much and your lawn will be brown.

Tilling it wet will cause it to create ‘chunks’ of soil that we call ‘clods’. These dry out and become hard. The hard clods reduce seed to soil contact, and make it hard for seeds to germinate.
When drier, the soil will crumble rather than create these mud balls like I threw at the camera.
