    So Sorry to hear about Marty, I am a First Responder, living with PTSD, I will admit I have contemplated taking my own life, but this being over 30 years ago, their wasn't any help available in my area, so I sought out a friend, a Christian Police Officer who I credit with keeping me around, Jesus and him, he ultimately lost his life doing what he loved, " helping people " Mark was one of the Canadian RCMP Officers that was killed in the Haiti Earthquake.
    As you said, " THEIR IS HELP, YOU ARE NOT ALONE, TELL SOMEBODY SO THEY CAN HELP YOU "
    We will you All in our Prayers, as well as Marty's family, Blessings to you All

    Hi Tim and subscribers. I'm a 74 year old home owner. My wife and I have a little 7 acre homestead, gardens, long driveway (dirt) and about a billion uses for a compact tractor which I've dodged getting for almost 35 years due to cost. But as I've aged, wheel barrows, snow shovels, spades and the like just aren't cutting it anymore, so next month I am bringing home a JD 1025R from our local JD guy. I am very excited about this purchase, have a zillion questions, but have already benefitted greatly from Tim's great channel here. Thanks Tim. I am presently pondering snow removal options with your help. As I get more experience and time with my tractor, I'll be asking specific questions but until then, I am most grateful for all I have learned from all of you. In addition, stupid extra comment, but I'm a great appreciator of good graphic art. Tim, your Tractor Time with Tim graphic is one of the best I've seen. Whoever designed that was an artist.

    I think adding a shallow ditch on each side would help alot. You could dig them with a box blade in minutes. Like the #2 stone less likely to be thrown by the tires than smaller stones. I don't think this is more than a short term fix. Let us know and follow up in late August or when they add the top coats.

    This was a great house warming present. I love to see how you are always looking for ways to show your hospitality and the love of Christ. I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of your friend Marty. Your 3046R was the tractor I initially wanted to purchase in 2020 but was told it would take until 2021 to get it. I went with a 2038R and was very happy to find out how capable it was. One question in had was how high did you set the rpm to work that gravel? It sounded like you were just idling along. I recently moved about 10 yards of base mix to prepare for a metal building site and needed to have the rpm set around 2200 in order to keep from bogging it down. I love my land-plane in its ability to smooth out the gravel.

    • @TractorTimewithTim
      @TractorTimewithTim  Před 2 lety +1

      I was just idling, and had the auto-throttle engaged. yes, with the 2038R, you would need some RPM. This machine was just 'toying' with this job.

  • @jeffherndon
    @jeffherndon Před 2 lety +10

    Something I found helpful is when I’m doing loader work and the auto throttle is on is to run the throttle up to about 1500 RPMs. The loader works much faster but it make pushing into the pile easier. It also just sounds like it’s easier in the engine. Try it and let us know what you think.

    • @iamdrako
      @iamdrako Před 2 lety +2

      I find that auto throttle on mine to be more of pain than a help. Like you said, I also feel it hits the engine and hydraulics harder. I think it even goes through less fuel when not using it. Just keeping the RPM's at around the eco pto range seems to be the sweet spot. Hydraulics are smooth, engine doesn't seem to berp, and the traction forward backwards has less delay and is smoother. Curious what others have to say on it.

    • @chadgreedan4728
      @chadgreedan4728 Před 2 lety +1

      I completely agree. I have a 3046r and even with the auto throttle on run up to between 1500 and 1700 rpm seems to make a world of difference driving into a pile and moving a loaded bucket. However I will throttle down when spreading just so the bucket won’t dump as quickly. But I am sure with a little more practice it will get easier with the higher rpm

    • @iamdrako
      @iamdrako Před 2 lety

      Has anyone used the work load speed thing? According to the manual, if you're using the PTO, and the load starts getting high, it'll slow the tractor down until the load evens out. I haven't had a use case for it yet, just curious how it works in real life.

    Thank you and Christy for taking the time to create interesting and educational content. The 3046R is a little beast compared to my 2025R. Sad to hear about Marty. We all have our good days and our bad days. Sorry for Ken, and everyone else that knew him, for their loss. 🙏🏻

    Darn that's tragic to hear about Marty. It breaks my heart to hear that someone hurt so much that they felt this was their only option.

    Put down 8" of that number 2 stone then put 4-5" of 21AA lime stone on top. That drive way will be their for a very long time. Tim good to see the first tractors job.

    Great video, helping out the new neighbors. Johnny III looked good hauling the stone and pulling the land plane. I'm sure he will make a great addition to your stable. Sorry to hear about Marty, the videos he was in were great.

    That's terrible news about Marty. You don't always know who is hurting, and people are more isolated today than maybe in the past. Not a lot of lessons but keep an eye out for each other and God bless.

    This is a beautiful machine guys, I'm so glad things have gone so well to allow your channel and life to grow as I've seen over the last few years watching.
    I had not seen the videos with Marty, but he sounds like a god guy, I'm sorry for the loss it has left for so many people. Mental health is a demon so many struggle with, and I'm glad you put the reminder for people that there is help both in the Lord as well as in ones physical community.

    Could you come to Ohio sometime? I’m not far from Orville and I know you know where that’s at. Sorry to hear about Marty, I have also lost too many from suicide and addiction as well. May God bless his soul and his surviving family.

    Turn the rpms up. They like to run between 2 and 3 grand. Should be way more responsive. I love our 3046r. Can't wait to get more attachments for it. Your channel is great btw. It's awesome watching all the different jobs and attachments.

      Thanks. I had all I needed for this job, but yes, we typically run higher rpm.

    I’m so sorry for the loss of your friend. A couple of other thoughts: 1) don’t worry - you’ll have plenty of people (mostly people who have never been on a tractor) giving you advice on how to do your tractor stuff. I see lots of it and I’m sure you do too. 2) I’m glad to see someone else doing driveway work!

    Great job helping your neighbor. I have several people in my life to that have taken their own life. It’s so tragic, especially to their family. There is lots of help out there. I do enjoy reading the Bible verse at the end of your videos. I’m hoping to see you again in Louisville.
