In response, apparently there was a Headlamp litigation from February to June of this year, where they were 100% reimbursing people for the repairs. I contacted Cadillac for help and they were extremely uncooperative and replied there was nothing they could do because the litigation deadline expired. Really? That's COMPLELY UNACCEPTABLE. There are so many SRX models on the road, this is a public safely issue. I contacted my Cadillac dealership and they quoted me $1,800 to fix the issue!! This is no good. I will be filing complaints with the authorities and making it known that Cadillac KNOWS they have a faulty product they are not standing behind. It's a simple thing to get right. Create a product people can trust and stand behind it. Apparently that's not the case. Cadillac has failed and completely lost my trust. Just thought I'd share....
My dealer and GM said I missed the window and they had sent a letter. Never got letter and given same outrageous $1800 estimate. I bought aftermarket housings on amazon (less than $300), 2 sets of LED bulbs ($40 a pair) & my friends shop put them in for a fair labor charge that's much less than dealer. They perform better than original halogen and better than the factory SRX HID option. Find a local shop, buy your parts on Amazon and save well over $1000. Oh and have better lights than the car came with.
I'm from Ontario, Canada, and I own a 2013 Luxury and the lights are extremely unsafe. It's definitely the reflective coating inside the low beam housing that's gone. Melted away by the heat of the halogen bulbs. The moisture inside my right driver's side makes it even worse. Cadillac should be ashamed of itself to allow this defect to continue without reimbursement or repair for its customers. Canada's safety system doesn't seem to be concerned either, even though I've brought it to their attention.
You just saved my friend a ton of money! Now i was going to replace them either way but now i can do it at work and get payed for it instead of doing it in my driveway and her having to pay for the parts. Yes, reimbursement, but that counts! At least you get your money back! Thanks!
I had to change out the housings in my 2015 SRX. Its a known issue. I am in Florida and dealer claimed I missed the window fir free repair. I bought aftermarket housings, LED bulbs and I fixed the issue better than new, hopefully permanently and for less half the dealer price to put the same lights in that will do the exact same thing in a few years.. Dealer quote was well over $1000. I watched another SRX video where the housing was disassembled showing the reflective material around bulb appeared to be damaged by heat of halogen bulb no longer reflecting the light. LEDs do not generate heat at the bulb area so I believe my new light housings will not suffer the same failure. Buy housings off amazon for less than $300. My LED bulbs were $40 a pair, don't waste money on the $200 LED bulbs. Find a local shop to swap the housings for less cost than dealer if you don't have the ability as the bumper has to be removed.
I have a 2015 SRX I don’t have the moisture problem but the low beam lights a extremely dim to the point of being dangerous. GM has a problem and they know it, they should make this right.
I own a 12 and I work 2nd shift I have to drive with my high beams on blinding other drivers but I need to get home safely to my kids I have no other option.
We have a 2016 SRX, can’t see a thing, need to use high beams. My wife was hung up on yesterday 7-23-21 by Senior Cadillac advisor. Was told it would cost us $1600 to fix???
I got a letter from GM put the receipt for the new light . I replace the whole unit myself I never heard of word back from Cadillac. Now I have to replace the other light because it's leaking also.
I got no letter in Florida and they claimed I missed the window for replacement and "GM sent out letters". Just get aftermarket housings and LED bulbs. Mine went from not safe at night to the best headlights of any car I have owned. I have had several with factory HIDs and the LEDs are better.
Yo tengo en 2010 cadillac srx las luces cortas no alambran casi nada, tengo que poner la larga.y los faros que venden son muy caros, que puedo hacer al respecto???
I have a 2012 Cadillac SRX and in July I was actually driving down the road and hit and killed a person cuz I couldn't see them I was not at fault but something needs to be done
Says $1300 for the fix but actually that would be to use factory parts and you would end up with the same result. Your better off going with a reputable aftermarket brand like spyder and saving more than 50% of the parts price and get bettef light performance. The reason these light are dim isn't the moisture its the low beam projector housing. There isn't a long lasting reflective surface inside of the housing. I have a 2014 srx and my low beams are about as effectice as a colman lantern.
My girlfriend is having the same issue with her 2014. Is there seriously no legal recourse here? She has all of the issues that are known to occur with the 2014 SRX including the headlight issue, and the rear liftgate module failing due to water collecting in the back AND A wheel bearing that went out b
00:57 the cadillac puts out more light than the onther one,,,hahahahahahahaaa,,he blames it on technology,,this reporters are such fake news even for 4 years old,,,the reason they dont shine that bright is because the reflective coating inside the head light flakes off,,,,hahahahahahahaha
Thanks so much for sharing. I don't know why I didn't check CZcams before but am so glad I did today.. Thanks Action 9!

@@brianmc7719 Can you post the link to the housing and bulbs you purchased?
Did you get any results
Let us know resolve. Same thing with our 2016 SRX. This is a safety issue!
@@paulsalvo1150 I have a resolution pending with GM. Stay tuned....
This is a serious problem I have a 2012 and 2013 and it's bad afraid to drive at night.

I’m having the same problem and I have a 2015 SRX
Me too I'm sick of it I can't even drive at night
I have the same problem on my 2015.
Did you end up getting some replacements if so from where?

I went through the latee part of last summer and this winter, so far no issues with my 2012 srx headlights
there should be an official recall. I expect better from Cadillac. Bought a '14 last week then I find out they have crap headlights
I have a 2012 and have the same issue . I don’t believe it’s moisture though. Is GM still reimbursing for the cost?
We have a 2016 SRX, can’t see a thing, need to use high beams. My wife was hung up on yesterday 7-23-21 by Senior Cadillac advisor. Was told it would cost us $1600 to fix???
Can we do a Law Sue?

i have a 2016 that also has the same concern. very dim becase to much heat in light and is burning the chrome reflecter. should be recalled by cadllic
😢I can’t drive at night because my low beams are so dim.
I’m having the same problem and I haven’t gotten a letter. I’m from Texas driving a 2013 Cadillac SRX
Same here, no letter.
I got no letter in Florida and they claimed I missed the window for replacement and "GM sent out letters". Just get aftermarket housings and LED bulbs. Mine went from not safe at night to the best headlights of any car I have owned. I have had several with factory HIDs and the LEDs are better.
Same problem
They need to go back to glass headlights.
WTH, why is she driving. It's unsafe. Fix it before she kills someone.

i have a 2014 Luxury SRX with no moisture but dim bulbs. I just ordered Sylvania SilverStar bulbs from a CZcams video so we'll see if that helps.
Very True!
Same thing here. Moisture and driver side headlight just went out

No more Cadillac for me, headlamps problem, battery replaced before two years touch screen replaced.
I think they should recall the 2007 cts too
Los mios ni alumbran, queman el nikel interior, tengo que poner la luz larga parapoder ver
same here$2400 to fix

Stop saying you don’t see bikes or peds.
Well seriously. No one cares about bikes. Or bikers. Seriously.
I have a 2011 srx & ima just buy a brighter bulb
It’s a real pain in the ass getting to the low beams.
we tried that, it didn't work unfortunately. You need to replace with a aftermarket headlight assembly to fix the issue
Bought new brighter bulbs & both have blown so stuck the old dim bulbs back in & use high beams to see👁️👁️
Cadillac sucks
