I first met people from the Philippines on my many cruises. They were, by far, the nicest of all the crew IMO. I discovered your channel today and watched every episode of this series so far and I am so happy to see that, what I perceived on the ships, is not a façade but a real, genuine, reflection of the people.
I am genuinely interested in this country as it mirrors so many things from where I live - Puerto Rico. I know that the adobo there has little commonality with how culinarily the word is used here but still something common (here it is more of a rub/seasoning rather than a saucy style of cooking) and, of course, we have a great lechon here too (see Anthony Bourdain). I find it interesting how both the Spanish and American influences are still present in both places (to completely different degrees of each but present in any case) after such long times have passed from their respective colonial rules (well, here in Puerto Rico we are still a quasi-colony of the US). Also, the landscape is similar which is nice.
Absolutely fascinating and I look forward to future episodes.

I'm happy you were able to travel to Siargao, which I never experienced yet thanks to the pandemic. I do hope you'd visit more cities in Mindanao, like Davao or Cagayan de Oro. There's so much to see and you'll also find another unique side of the Philippines. Each city has its own culture and dialect which I find it amusing even though I am a Filipino. See you around!

Yea - they are the most hospital people I've ever met. What a gift they are to the world. I have to move there!

Absolutely amazing family, it was so nice of the family to invite you in. Every time I see the hospitable people makes me want to visit. I understand why you choose to visit. Seems to me like that is “ Philippines” the friendliest place on Earth. The camaraderie is mind blowing. Have a great time!!

That is amazing that Justin's mom knew your channel. Like they say, it is truly as small world. Glad you captured the beautiful sunset at Sunset beach, it was really amazing. Hope you were able to see the fireflies even though you couldn't film it. The hospitality of the Philippino people is really next level.

Fireflies are actually good sign that the environment is clean & free from pollution. That why you dont see them in the cities. Very nice for you peepz to experience our culture first hand. Actually, your hosts will be the one to feel bad if you refuse their invite. It's like telling them that their food is no good for you. And too bad that you wont be there at the fiesta celebrations. Always ingat on your adventures, Jonathan.

That’s great to hear about the fireflies and lack of pollution! I was just trying to be polite and not intrude, but I may have actually seemed rude by not accepting at first, but at least we finally did accept!

Just a quick note, some consider it as an insult when you refuse after you were invited to eat. Filipinos value friendship through food.

Came across your channel while recovering from surgery and watching your videos helped me go through the pain. Im in CA now but was born in Cebu and grew up in Mindanao : longing to be back to all the places you featured in all your videos. Really loved the topic about spreading posivity and how we have so much here in US and yet people are lonely. Enjoy Mindanao: my island got lots to offer from beautuful beaches to enchating mountains. Way to go bro: spread love and positivity.
