- This is a video on how far I have come in my deckbuilding on jegantha and Sisay. But I had to throw in a few ideas and concepts about her. Things that are good to think about. In general Sisay content, I guess. I defiantly think this mono-white five-colored commander is going to push up and grow in power level in this format.

Sissay only gets better after every set. Especially with the 70+ legendary cards that are coming out in the upcoming commander draft set
YES! I wouldn't be surprised if she becomes one of the strongest commanders in the format.
Another thing I would like to add is that while she is powerful, she is very easy to port back and forth between casual tables and competitive tables. I tend to bring like a 15 card “sideboard” to port out the competitive only cards and bring in some more fun stuff.

@@thekidmartian1 I built a budget Sisay where no card is over $2 (it was supposed to be one, but some of them went up by ten cents :S), and it's surprisingly fun. There's so many cool an deceptively powerful legends available for cheap.
Since comander will always be about legends, sisay can defintly set to an _ETERNAL_ staple in EDH as comander. This means also that many ways of building her will appear between comboing fast, griding protective or controling to a late game. It might be a good spot to set this style lists, not to restrict its possibilities, but to filter the infinite lists variations that it has and will have. Great video by the way, congrats, hope to see more.
I think that control sisay, with narset, ashiok and so on want Jegantha in the 99 anyway.
In the end Jegantha can still be tutored up with sisay's ability
Been waiting for this video since jegantha was spoiled. Sisay is such a versatile commander and I love the toolbox style of play. Brilliant video I enjoy the content immensely

@@cedhtv by the way... Since we are also running Teferi Time Raveler, it can replace Teferi HoD in the chain by bouncing Aminatou back to hand and just casting it again with Jegantha mana. You can draw your entire deck and use Lab Man for the alternate win.

I wasn't sure how i felt about Sisay in my deck at first.
And then I played a couple of games with her.
I very quickly realized she's one of the absolute best cards in my entire deck! She's so good that I took her out of my 99 and put her into my commander slot.

I really enjoy all the content you put up lately and your cedh gameplay videos have vastly improved.
I love your Deck Techs and the videos where you share your thoughts on cards/everything else (c)edh 😊
I think that every Card has the potential to become “better“ with each new Set/Card Wizards is releasing. Especially in EDH.
(Zurs Weirding is amazing in Muldrotha, Demonic Consultations has become crazy good, celestial Dawn and Sen-Triplets, Derevi/Urza with hollowing mine or winter orb, Godo and Helm of the Host, etc.)
And some Cards are destined to get way better than others.
I cannot imagine that Wizards will stop the support of new legendary permanents. And the new sets have shown that they get stronger.
I also play Sisay, Korvold, Kenrith, Krrik, Urza, Muldrotha (not full optimized but above casual).
Sisay is a great Toolbox. The power to have Commander that can tutor for questions or answers at instant speed even with the given limitations is crazy but also challenging.
I think over time Sisay will stand out as one of the powerhouses in EDH. What Commanders/or Cards do you think have the same potential as Sisay?

Knerith is definatly similar. Not the same same but different. He dose a lot of of different stuff but he dosen't have that great veriaty. Sliver overlord is also kinda similar but slivers just dosen't have that many options. Yisan is also similar. Sisay is like a yisan with all five colors.
But in the end I think Sisay is quite unike. If you compar just how much she can grow from new cards coming to print, she benifits the most.
Other cards I also think could get crazy good in the future are underworld breach! Watch out for that one. That card could definatly get stronger and stronger depending on what wizard print.

also don't worry so much about saying permanent right. I can't say it right either and I'm a native English speaker...
So if you got a lot of mana dorks, you can get a Soldevi Machinist with a Kiora's Follower and put a Vitalize on a Isochron Scepter. There you go, the slowest infinite mana combo ever lol . But really enjoyed this video and your content. Have a nice day : )
I feel like this is going to be the way to go for sissay as more cards get printed. Its like her new paradox engine.

Hey Mons! I was chatting with you a bit about this deck back in the Jagantha cedh card review. One way I was taking my build was instead of having instants to untap jagantha or mana dorks, I am using instill energy, nature's chosen, & freed from the real for untap. For protection, I am using teferi, time raveler, shalai, voice of plenty, and rube-tail, kitsune ascendant. For haste, I'm using the land you described, samut, & xenagos
Xenagos and Samut sounds a bit too overboard and casual but thanks for the ideas!
@@gnarly814 not a problem. Samut is staying in deck but Xenagos might get replaced with more interaction, more haste outlets are good tho for jagantha
I have a Sisay Deck myself and I call it Sisays Avengers .

Everyone, look at Samite Elder if you want to play with Jagentha ;). Can also recommend Quirion Ranger and Scryb Ranger as well. Protection from all colors consistently.
Enjoyed your vids a lot and especially those that bring us ideas and inspirations of cool concepts and deck building tech. Regarding Sisay, it is possible to include the worldgorger animate dead combo inside? Considering the combo size is relatively small, and i can might as well include anger to the deck for a hasty jegantha
It hard to get anger into the grave with this deck. We don't naturally have a good way off dumping cards into the grave.
@@cedhtv ok i see, i was thinking about the standard bury alive or some red/blue draw and discard cycling, but i guess the combo would be too large and inefficient then

I don't play cEDH and have not watched the whole vid. But, just want to say that Sisay + Jegantha + Intruder alarm= You can put all your legenary creatures from your deck onto the battlefield.

With the printing of Kinnan, I think there will be a great divide between Cursed Totem/Linvala/Suspension Field decks and non-those cards decks. If that is the case, combos completely blocked by those cards may be tougher to combo out with.
I think boardwhipe decks are good now. Everyone wanna play some of these new creature decks and boom.

But you have to self-restrict and try to only include cards with girls in the art.

@cEDH TV I thought so too, I’m planning on building a more casual version of her. My play group is high power casual so casual but infinites and combos and such are fair game we just like turn 7-8 decks as opposed to turn 3-4

Already in love with this deck, gonna try to build it as a hatebear deck with the two win combo, najeela and scepter. It hurts because with jegantha as a companion we cant run a lot of counter magic, and I thinks that's important in cedh, so instead of this, hatebear could do a lot of work!
Hatebears are great with sisay. SOme of the legandry one she can just tutor into play at instent speed.
@@cedhtv Because what about Kenrith? It fits with jegantha, it's a haste enabler, you can fetch it with Sisay + it's a good card draw engine and a reanimator, in case your jegantha dies! I'm still working on it, but it could be a good addition!

I found a really good card to fill both the slot of haste enabler and recursion is the rakdos chainer
sisay to me was the way for dragon-god to win in cedh, if u take out nicol bolas It loses the meaning to me xD
Im still adding jegantha in the 99 as a expensive bloom tender with less requirements. I even added peragrin drake cuz of how good single creatures that generate up to 5 mana are in sisay...
Omfg tbis was.my main reason too i started with jodah just cause bolas was always so hard to cast and he gave me cheaper ramp but siasy actually turned him into a killer im sad to see him go but i do think this elk being a companion is gonna pay off more

I've been testing a version and it seems like if jegantha taps and no one responds it's almost impossible to the combo to fizzle. But there is a lot of dead slots, so you would possibly want a lot of rituals, fast mana and haste enablers to combo as early as possible, abdicating of a lot of the disruption cards. So I think that the best version of sisay/jegantha would be more proactive and the jeganthaless version would be more reactive/adaptative
So I recently pulled Sisay and i'm interested in playing her, as a control player she peaks my interest right now and i'm ready to build a sisay control deck.
I'm still new to building cEDH decks though so if anyone could give me some lists or even suggestions on cards I could put in that would be awesome!

How about removing part of the control to go for the “get as much needed mana” route? Once both Sisay and Jegantha are in play with haste you technically won. You just need some counterspell
Mons, have you played at all with kinnan/freed from the real + kenrith? Saw a really great deck list with it on tapped out. It seems quite nice because jegantha can remain your companion and there may be more value outside of combo. And also, what are your thoughts on the pay 3 generic for companion to hand?? Love your content btw
The cost for 3 mana for companion to hand is a big nerf. I think there might be some decks that can have some companions but I am not sure yet. I have played aginst kinnan 0 freed from the real but not vs kenrith. It was vs thrasios. It feels really good. I think kinnan is stroger with thrasios because of grim monolit and kinnan draws the entier deck with thrasios but not with kenrith.
What do you think about chainer, nightmare adept? it gives jegantha haste, and allows you to replay jegantha from the grave if it gets removed

I like godo, I just don't think Godo is that ... good as a commander. But they are quite similar. I wanned to showcase that we have the same potential that godo got but also five colors and a card draw ability one the commander.
Also Im suprised you didnt touch in the sultai food chain deck yet? It appears it might even dethrone the 1st sliver just cuz you can exile all of your deck with the consultation due to have the win con from cmd zone, once you have food chain.
I know food chain isnt novel but the new sultai deck feels like an upgrade to a solid cedh strat it requires some attention at the very least.
This set contains sooo much for competitive commander. I mean. I am ... I have soo much to do. I have plans for them but one video at the time.

You don't need derevi in the planeswalker route, because kiora does the same thing, untapping and buffing sisay, doing this you can even skip ral
But Kiora is nearly an unplayable card without Jegantha or a bloom tender or something, untapping random dorks doesn't seem worth it. At least Ral can bolt something. Still might be worth experimenting but Derevi isn't a bad card to have in 99 anyway and I think Ral is better than Kiora.
EDIT: Forgot she untaps any permanent but I still think Ral might be the better card
cashes in the kinnan ability, there is only 15 hits in the 99 and they are mostly dorks.
Don't take my tappedout list as a finished product. This is a big experiment. The list I am currently playing got all 10 signets in it.

You don’t need jetantha to be a companion. The deer works well as part of the 99 too.
It dose but I don't think we are going to have it in the 99. Selvala heart of the wilds is actually just better. And I don't think we should play both.

I don't think soo. But I guess there might be a cool trick to get it going. But for now I am skeptic.
Do you think Saheeli Rai might be better than Ral Zerek? It has a lower cmc which seems nice for building up Sisay as a backup plan quicker, it is missing the bolt option but maybe? Im sure you see it but if you don't you can use her nearly the same way in the combo by copying derevi or jegantha. Maybe she could even haste up a token derevi for an easier/extra activate.
EDIT: Maybe it could also eliminate the need for Derevi all together but I think she might still be a valid plan B or C with Najeela.

5:10 If you need Derevi to get Sisay enough power to fetch Ral (CMC 4), wouldn't you be unable to fetch Oath of Teferi (CMC 5) beforehand?
No, before we find oath we will find Derevi and aminatuo and those two will make sisay into a 6/6. And with the elk ijn play she will be a 7/7.

since you cannot use fon and fow, why not trade then for the red and blue cast for free with your commander and get a little more protection?
The blue one i agree, but the red one is kinda eh? Getting Sisay killed already sucks you don't want to make it suck more.

Did you consider using Jace from War of the spark and Demonic consultation ?
This is not original at all, i agree but you generally only need to tutor for demonic consultation as you can tutor Jace on your opponents end step just before your turn or during your turn if you already have teferi to protect you.
That would be an additionnal way of winning and this combo do not need sisay to work , sisay only makes it easier to build as a plan B.
Probably optimal but tbh i hope they ban consultation lol it's so incredibly auto include

YES! But that card didn't exist when I made the video. But now that is the NR 1 Sisay card.
I still don't think that the RC is applying the Companion mechanic to EDH correctly. They really need to allow the Companion to reside in the Command zone or create a Companion zone so that the Companion isn't a 101th card in eligible decks
Yeah should just be in its own zone and tbh should not include the commander in its restrictions.
Well, on mtgcommander.net/index.php/rules/ they state »Note: With the advent of companion, Rule 11 will be modified to reflect legality of cards with the mechanic on April 20.« So the mechanic will actually work the way it is currently previewed.
couldn't you tutor horde of notions to bring back your companion if things go bad, or would that be too much
