Chatting about your videos to my better half….the inevitable, “don’t be asking me to go with you” came back. It’s just enough to get her out in the campervan with me. Awesome video as usual Billy. Every time I drive near a roundabout I’ll be wondering if you’ve pitched up inside. Keep up the great work, we all appreciate it.

I go wild camping in the Peak District and the missus thought she was missing out on something so she wanted to come along. Thought I’d break her in on a campsite, she packed a bloody suitcase that only just fit in my boot. Never again, it’s solo for me lol.

A quick tip from a long time Trangia user Billy. Don't use the lid with the seal to put the flame out, the heat will melt the rubber, you'll end up with a leak and fuel all over your gear. Made that mistake before lol.

There is an easier walk-in from Blackdam to Crabtree plantation via the underpass at 51.261806, -1.066235 although not sure how easy it is to get up to road from there. I used to play in the stream there and metal detect on the common - lots of matchlock (musket) balls there from the Civil War.
As others have said use the simmer ring to extinguish the stove flame not the lid.

I know it's a little late to mention it but if you want something to protect your airmat from thorn's try using a yoga mat. It's lightweight, will actually add some r-value and packs up somewhat small. It doesn't cost much and you can use it for exercise.

I daily a walking staff but it really comes in handy when dealing with sticker vines as well as moving debris from my path and dealing with any wildlife I encounter like a copperhead or rattler, even a gator can be persuaded to look elsewhere for its meal.. your dinner looked tasty but I think the flame was too high. Did you use a second tortilla to wrap the crunch wrap? thats how they cover the "hole" either a smaller tortilla or a piece of a large one. A large tortilla makes a good substitute for a lid and then you can turn it into a quesadilla .. that was an interesting adventure..

Good video Billy, you asked for advice for what to do if you arrive at camp early and have a few hours to spare, well what I would do is carry a metal detecting pinpointed, never know what you could find around the camp area and would be handy for you to recover anything metal you lost in the foliage. A proper metal detector would be best but would be hard for you to pack into your rucksack. As you can see by my channel name I’m a keen metal detectors, as well as using it regulary at home I always take the detector with me when I go away in my camper - It’s just a thought, maybe not your thing! - Enjoying your videos, keep em coming, BTW the wrap looked great
