No auto tune or back up recordings, dancers. Just 4 guys, one the most charismatic rock frontman that performed in the 20 th century. Such genius! Go down the Queen rabbit hole and find the true gems. 💎 ❤ 👑

Never stop a Queen video before the very end, you'll miss some cool stuff. The rest of the band is Sir Dr. Brian May, astrophysicist (seriously) guitarist. John Deacon, Electrical Engineer on Bass, Roger Taylor, Biologist on Drums and of course Freddie, Graphic Designer and GOAT.They all wrote #1 hits, all play multiple instruments and together created Queen.

Read the lyrics. Freddie wrote this song and it's heartbreaking. He directly talks to God about why he's so lonely and has nobody to love. This performance always makes me cry 😭 RIP A LEGEND

Michael Jackson was actually a HUGE fan of Freddie Mercury & Queen. He used to come hang out in their dressing room backstage when they were playing in California, and he stated that he got his inspiration for his Thriller album from Queen's Hot Space album.
Michael "borrowed" aspects of his costume styles from Freddie, including: the one metallic glove (Freddie wore one in the 70s) and his later military look (Freddie's look during his last 1986 tour).
Michael & Freddie were friends and they actually recorded THREE songs together! One of the songs - "Victory" - is buried in the Jacksons' vault, but the other two are on YT:
"THERE MUST BE MORE TO LIFE THAN THIS"
    and
    "STATE OF SHOCK"
("State Of Shock" is actually an unpolished demo, but it's AWESOME! There's also a different version with Michael & Mick Jagger, so just look for the one with only Michael & Freddie's names.)
...There's also a FASCINATING video on YT: The audio from Queen's song "Another One Bites The Dust" is "replaced" over Michael's "Thriller" music video... it shows that the two songs have EXACTLY the same underlying song structure! (And it's really FUN to watch Michael's zombie dancers, dancing to "Another One Bites The Dust".) ...It was actually thanks to Michael's advice, that Queen even chose to release "Another One Bites The Dust" as a single - the band didn't think it was that great of a song - and it ended up being one of their most successful songs.
BTW... Freddie Mercury has actually been voted the BEST Vocalist and BEST Front Man in Rock music. He had a four octave vocal range. He co-wrote/recorded an album of OPERA. His song "Bohemian Rhapsody" was the MOST streamed song of the 20th century. And his voice was actually studied by a scientific research group because his vocal abilities were so unique.

Roger Taylor was a master of playing the drums and singing extremely well. He said doing both at the same time was a “nightmare”. You should check out I’m in love with my car from the same concert. Roger Taylor wrote and sang it.

Roj really holds it down on this one. Brings the gravel, the rough to Fred's smooth.

“I’m okay, I’m alright “. Is what he was saying.
Say what you will, no one could hold an audience like Freddie.

This whole concert was amazing and this song shows just how tight the entire band is. I love this song and this performance. Freddie wrote this song as a nod to Aretha Franklin who he really admired and loved all of her music. Freddie always said he would love to sing with her but their paths never crossed. I bet that would have been one soulful song. Thank you for your reaction.

    RECOMMEND:
"ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST" LIVE at this same 1981 Montreal concert.
(But only if you watch it until the very END... There's no point in watching a performance, if you're not going to watch the ENTIRE thing... especially a Queen performance, because you NEVER know what Freddie's going to do, he ad libs a lot of FUN antics.)

No need to compare MJ to Freddie - MJ became a singular force of creative expression that is really incomparable. Freddie was a monster talent and front man and had the advantage of being in a band with very special, dedicated, and creative individuals in their own right. Liking one or the other more makes sense, but trying to defend saying one is "better" is a fool's errand.

    Freddie sang:
Got no feel, I got no rhythm
I just keep losing my beat (You just keep losing and losing)
    I'm okay, I'm alright (He's alright, he's alright)
I ain't gonna face no defeat (Yeah, yeah)
I just gotta get out of this prison cell
(One day) Someday I'm gonna be free, Lord
