I went to the show in Philly. Travelled all night by bus from Ottawa (Canada) and stood in line for hours. I was half near dead when it was over but it was worth it to see Led Zep reunite and Tina Turner join The Stones. Great cause, great show and I think it cost less than $200 including the bus ride. 😊

1 MILLION IS AN OFFENSE FOR WHAT THIS EVENT MEANS AND IN GENERAL WHAT IS ROCK. IN OUR MIND IT IS MORE THAN 1 BILLION PEOPLE SUBSCRIBED AMONG THOSE WHO ARE NO LONGER LIVING FROM THAT TIME TO THE PRESENT. 🤘🎸🎹🎤🎶

@@hansolo-mx4xt the sad thing is that the kids of today (like me), don’t like this stuff. I do though, that’s why I’m here. I have vinyls and tapes of this stuff. For me it will never die. I was always brought up with this music, so I will continue to listen to it for life.

Just to advise Everyone This is NOT "The Complete Music of Live Aid" - Apart from Performances from Led Zep , we are missing Tracks From Madonna and Duran Duran (These were not "lost" Tracks , but for some reason The Trust have NOT included them here. I am NOT ungrateful to the Trust. But this its a bit misleading to use the word "Complete". Should have been "Almost Complete" or at least mentioned some performances were missing..
Even ignoring incomplete performances (plenty of them) the ten videos don't include the following 12 Philadelphia performers:

The Hooters
Billy Ocean
Bo Diddley (guested with George Thorogood)
Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young
Rick Springfield
Santana (refused to be included)

No sign either of BB King's performance satellite linked in from Holland nor the Prince & The Revolution and The Cars music videos made especially for the broadcast. Complete my arse.

Live Aid is incomplete without the two biggest acts of the era - namely Duran Duran and Madonna. This is not a complete version,without them!

Did I miss the stream
So what exactly does "the complete music of Live Aid" mean?? The Hooters set? The Led Zeppelin set? Those haven't been 'officially' seen in years.
Sadly according to their listing even tracks from Madonna and Duran Duran are missing and of course Led Zep.. So its not a "complete" concert..

How long is the the complete set? Just wondering what time it will finish.
It's not complete. Not counting changeovers both concerts had a combined running time of ~16 hours. Despite some additional material not on the DVD set these videos combine to about 10 hours. On top of that while everyone at London is represented I count 12 artists missing from Philadephia (including 2 who were on the DVD), plus the BB King link up (on the DVD) and the Cars (on the DVD) and Prince videos made especially for the broadcast.

I thought a lot of footage was lost….that day the original agreement was that none would be saved….

The answer appears to be YES , there is footage that was not on the DVD Set , but this is by no way complete...
NONE of the BBC footage was ever lost as they claimed. Just a min or so of Sade's first song and of Course a Who Song (power cut). The US Broadcast was much lower quality , and some (One of Simple Minds songs) was "lost" others like the Led Zep set was lost due to rights issues..
it would be nice if this channel would thank the BBC employee that decided to copy the broadcast of this concert, since there was a contract to destroy all recordings between the artists and the BBC
