Did you happen to notice any intermittent firing of the jets when used at full pressure with a pot on top? Thanks for sharing
I have not but its probably becuase I have not run in it on full but I can test it. Do you know for how long I need to run it before the issue occurs?
@@offcourseoutdoors8366 Let me know if you can see this video. I will be releasing it in late March czcams.com/video/aGPbmrDX-os/video.html
Once again you made a wonderful video. After reviewing, I ran out into my garage to test. I got the same result you did. I did more testing with the Freestyle and got the same result you did. I raised the pot a few times and got it to stop. When I used the Ti diffuser I got it stop. I thought really hard as to why I never expericed this issue and it dawned on me that I really disliked how loud the air instake was when fully open. I've been running it about 2/3rds open. With it slightly closed the issue was no longer. I suspect that the pot in combination with the higher velocity of the 100% open intake contributed to generating some serious turbulence (mini tornado, lol). I also suspect that the Ti plate and the sligtly closed intake reduces the velocity either by friction or airflow redirection or restriction. Anyway, here is a video of the test. Please excuse the poor quality. Let me know your thought... Cheers!

@@offcourseoutdoors8366 Watched your short vid. Exactly my experience. I mentioned it to Steve by email but he has not seen the video yet. Not a big issue really as I feel it is more fuel efficient when not run wide open. Love your videos. Keep up the good work
@@MarkYoungBushcraft Love your videos too. Keep doing what ya doin! Cheers!
Well done and spot on.
Thank you so much! Cheers!
Nice review. Mine arrived today. Impressive.❤
Thanks for watching! Enjoy your new toy! Cheers!
I really enjoy your Firebox equipment demo's. Quite professionally done. Thanks!!
Thank you very much! Cheers!
Cool👍!
Thanks for watching! Cheers!
Wow - that’s very cool. I’ve been thinking of adding an extended hose burner and had my eye on another, but this looks great. I like that I can use it with both my 5G2 and Freestyle. Steve is a genius. Let’s see it in use!
I know, right! I was thinking about getting another one then buying a splitter for dual burner setup for a bushcraft 8. Just for those really long steaks! Thanks for watching, cheers!
Very nice video! I love that you had history with adjusting a flame. Your analytic nature lends itself very well to explaining my products. You totally get the design logic of Firebox! I did however want to comment on mounting in the freestyle. As well as apologize for not having an instructional video yet. Some of the final details on the burner were in flux until recently. It's actually super easy. Start by opening the four panel freestyle, run the pins through (the position you recommended) from any panel panel run the hose between the pins and through any feed hole (that makes sense). Even if the hose is directed toward the panel without a feed hole the hose is flexible enough to do a U-turn to go through a different hole. I just tried it again, I was remembering correctly. You don't even need a fire grate. The spring tension holds the stove firmly in position. I just looked at the instructions and they don't say anything about mounting the gas burner. It's all information you should have had. Definitely my bad.
Thanks again Mike!
Thanks for the detailed information Steve! Much appreciated! Cheers!
Nice!! I have a few trangia gas burners for my fireboxes. Looks like I need to get a few more as they definitely have there place when burn ban is in effect in California
Go for it! and.. thank for watching! Cheers!
Oh great! I just bought my Trangia and Burner Sticks. I really like the Titanium Difuser plate. I could see that coming in handy when we have Fire Restrictions here in BC Canada. Please make sure to do some Grilling Videos with the G2.
Grilling video is in the works, just waiting on the weather to cooperate. Thanks for watching, cheers!
I purchased this from Firebox Stove after watching your review what I’m most excited about is the round titanium disc I’m hoping it will help me quit burning my food right in the middle.
Hope you enjoy it!
Nice! Your detailed explanation is helpful.
Glad it was helpful! Cheers!
In campfire mode, can you hear the hissing as loud as it seems on the video? Also, do you have any idea of what rate the fuel consumption is in campfire mode? Can see this really useful during fire ban areas, but curious how long one could realistically run it using say 8oz container
I did not weight it before and after use, sorry. I will try to remember to do that when I use it next. In campfire mode it does hiss but not as loud as on the video, I had a directional mic pointed at it. Thanks again for watching! Cheers!
Can the trangia brand burner do that slow quiet yellow flame too?
From what I've seen, the trangia has a fixed air control. Not sure of the new ones but you can't get that yellow flame. Hope this helps, cheers!
Nice review😊
Can you tell me please, where is this stove made please?
I beleive its made in Columbia. Thanks for watching!
New to the channel.
This video covered everything, very informative!!
Liked and subscribed.
Have a great day
Awesome, thank you! Cheers!
How does it run with a gas canister inverted so your burning liquid in winter if the liquid isn’t turning to a vapor?
The unit runs fine during the winter temps I camp in (40-50F). It does not have a preheating tube, so liquid burning may not be in scope for its use. Hope this helps, cheers!
Firebox burner price took a jump, it's almost as much as the trangia gas burner now....
It's good stuff though. If you wait long enough there will be a kickstarter or a holiday sale you can pick one up at a discounted rate. Good luck! Cheers!
Time will tell!?!..
Wear at tear from use...leaks, worn o-rings, cracked tubing to name a few things. I did notice that the tubing and the regulator can be taken apart. It would be interesting to see if FB can provide a maintnence kit in the future.
... Don't make it overly complicated eh!!
I totally did, you don’t need the base grate. The tension from the mounting pins holds everything in place. The air intake does need to be closed a bit to avoid sputtering. I need to update this video. Cheers!
.. Keep working on it bud!
... How to make a concept that already done before... Only worse and more complicated... That's a big " nah🖕!" from me..... Not to mention plagiarism 🖕..
I can handle the words but those emojis just rips my soul apart.
@brucemercer8441 What other stove do you like better that's simpler, performs better, and offers similar versatility of fuel sources: wood, alcohol, gas?
@@thirdof3896the firebox stove is not complicated to operate 😂
