Love your detailed and thought out approach to your videos. For whatever reason, your presentation style really clicks with me. I need to place a large order with Firebox… lol
A little of preparation at home can save alot of time in the field. Love this. I assume you will also have a video on the doing this for the boxpot too?
@@offcourseoutdoors8366 I'm still waiting for my 10" ultimate cook set to arrive before I pick up a 5-way. I'm sure I'll buy one eventually. As it stands I already have a larger rectangular cast iron pan that has a griddle/grill top that I use very regularly and it is always beyond max capacity with only 3-4 people lol. When I get one it's def going to be the taller one to do bread loaves in the field.
I could totally see prefolding these and storing them flat until needed. Get in a roll and make up several in one sitting. Then easy to use day of your cook.
Looks like an origami project, lol! Excellent tutorial on how to fold parchment for the new 5-way. Just make sure to rehash this video later in the year when our 5-ways come in the mail 🔥📦🍳 *speaking of origami, I'm thinking you know how to fold a paper of any size to make a "cup" that will actually hold water..?
Anything cirular is far to complex to oragami unfortunately. Its not impossible, but better to purchase dutch oven liners for anything round. Thanks for watching!
Don't worry, I cook often with cast iron and'll make goulashes and other tomato-based meals. You just gotta properly season your cast iron, even after washing the pans. Cowboy Kent is tops when it comes to seasoning cast iron- he even has playlists on how to do 'em 🍳🤠
Agreed, I have cooked acid based meals with cast iron. As @anthonychihuahua said, post seasoning is important. It will strip some seasoning so you have to put it back. Thanks for the feedback!
I’ve been cooking tomato sauce in cast iron pans for over 40 years without any issues, the people who tell you not to are full of shit. Take care of your cookware, that’s all there is to it.
Nice job. I could see doing some steamed rice dishes. Could you cook the rice up in there as well? It would save cleaning another pot. I'd love to see an experimental video trying it. (BTW: are you in Madison?)
Geezus, a 2 minute video drug out to over 22 mins. 🤦♂️ For the amount of time screwing around with this I would just buy the premade sheets. Or here’s an idea, spend literally 30 seconds (including drying) washing your cookware after you eat. 🤷♂️
So cool! I noticed a lot of people were very interested in these custom-made parchment liners 👍 You did a great job explaining "how to" 😎
Thank you sir! Glad you enjoyed it! Cheers!
Here Here!! 🔥🍳🙌

Brilliant idea and well executed demonstration. Looking forward to more recipes featuring the 5-Way cast iron and these nifty liners.
Coming soon! Thanks for watching!

Good information! I do think however the dimensions you showed for the paper for the deep pan were transposed. Thank you for posting this.
I just check the measurements again for the tall pan and what I have in the video is correct. Thanks for watching!

All i could think about is how I could make a tomatobased dish without worrying about ruining the seasoning of the pan. Thank you!!!

Unbelievably cool and Good for a limited water scenario. Seems a bit fiddly though. Do you have an ADHD version?
Will a ASMR do? 🤔😁
unfortunately this is the ADHD version, lol Thank for watching!
