If there's one thing that gets over looked in Damianos ability, it's his breath work. Many of his songs are so fast they border on rap. If I'm not mistaken he does the entire second verse of Zitti e Buoni in 2 breaths!! Go listen!
Can I just say that as a long time Iggy Pop fan, he wouldn't have bothered to be part of this song if he didn't truly believe. At the peak of Måneskin's career, he truly believes in them. I think this would have been better suited as a "jam session" type video where we can see them all having fun in a casual environment, rather than an audio version... the thing with iggy pop is that his movement and presence brings more to the performance than just his voice, which is why in my opinion this sounded like a version where they got any old man to sing with them
Yeah, a joint studio jam session would have been THE thing. Maybe in the future when travelling will be easier. Iggy sounds a bit like Leonard Cohen at the end, but I wouldn't say that he is just "any" old men!

Ppl, this isn't better than the original but it doesn't have to be, is a freaking rock legend endorsement, is different, they were obviously having so much fun (Iggy, ok, damn, let's do it, after Damiano's voice 🤣), it's ironic and cool and darker at the same time.

Today I woke up having very little knowledge of Måneskin basically the Begging song. But seeings how I follow Iggy since I discovered Lust For Life as a lad while watching Trainspotting I decided to dig a little deeper. Now I'm an almost 40 year old punk rock guy like 90s skate punk and even most metal but gawd damn these kids have some heart. Great band. Finally somebody with something worth a poo to say.
I love Iggy but I still like the original way more. This just doesn’t sound right, I was expecting a different version of the song 🥲 Still having Iggy will help them reach a new crowd and that’s always good news 💕
Exactly, they should have rearranged the chords and pacing for the cover like måneskin did for their cover of somebody told me. Would have loved to see this song reimagined with some of the stooges or lust for life vibes!(maybe slow the melody down, making it a lot more flat/monotone to fit his voice better etc). This way just feels half assed at best.

The reason ya'll are saying Iggys voice doesn't fit the song is because of the accent. Damiano is imitating a british kinda accent as he said he wanted it to sound that way, and Iggy is American. Plus Damiano still sounds a mix between british and italian accent. That's why you find the original so interesting. Cause Damiano's accent in this song is very weird in a good way. However, this song probably wouldn't exist without Iggy's song I Wanna Be Your Dog.

Today I woke up having very little knowledge of Måneskin basically the Begging song. But seeings how I follow Iggy since I discovered Lust For Life as a lad while watching Trainspotting I decided to dig a little deeper. Now I'm an almost 40 year old punk rock guy like 90s skate punk and even most metal but gawd damn these kids have some heart. Great band. Finally somebody with something worth a poo to say.
I love Iggy but I still like the original way more. This just doesn’t sound right, I was expecting a different version of the song 🥲 Still having Iggy will help them reach a new crowd and that’s always good news 💕

Exactly, they should have rearranged the chords and pacing for the cover like måneskin did for their cover of somebody told me. Would have loved to see this song reimagined with some of the stooges or lust for life vibes!(maybe slow the melody down, making it a lot more flat/monotone to fit his voice better etc).
This way just feels half assed at best.
The original is better with Damiano’s vocal. Recognise that this is a big step for this awesome foursome. 🤘

The reason ya'll are saying Iggys voice doesn't fit the song is because of the accent. Damiano is imitating a british kinda accent as he said he wanted it to sound that way, and Iggy is American. Plus Damiano still sounds a mix between british and italian accent. That's why you find the original so interesting. Cause Damiano's accent in this song is very weird in a good way. However, this song probably wouldn't exist without Iggy's song I Wanna Be Your Dog.

I understand the hype because Iggy is ICONIC and it's a big step further for the band once again but I don't think it's better than the original one because in my opinion it doesn't fit Iggy's voice. No hate, I love and respect everyone and I'm looking forward to the next projects of the band, they're gonna be huge!
