That is very cool. Salt water friendly, and no need for a kick stand….. glad you put it on the left for those Aussie roundabouts 🏍🇦🇺👍🏻

Works with most types of tubing. I've been doing brass this way in my model building for many years.
Just a suggestion, tamp your sand multiple times as you are filling and clamp in a jig during cooling.

Good job! You could also use dry cement powder as it will pack tighter. Tony in Thailand

@@bennettscustomsco Yep I used years ago when l was bending pipes for headers. The bends can be tighter without kinking. Karl Fisher was talking about your channel so I clicked on it last night. Keep up the good work. Regards Tony

I use fine salt in my bends. You can dissolve it in case the sand gets bound together in the bend.

there was a slight ripple happening a one of the bends, i need to keep the heat more on the outside and pack the sand more next time!

Water is one of the best way to pack sand so iam thinking
Maybe drill a smale hole in the bottom to let the water out
And you Will get the sand as compact as possible
Good luck and Thanks for one of CZcamss best Channels

When you heat the pipe(with wet or damp sand inside) you’ll expand the water as steam and rupture your tube as you work it.
Using sand is a very old method - not particularly well-executed in this video.
Anyway, the correct approach is to heat the sand itself up front to remove any dampness and ensure no sticking together.
Use a hammer to tap/vibrate the tube intermittently during filling to tamp it down.

I use wheels or pulleys to get consistent bends.just like mandrell bends.wagon wheels werk great after rubber is removed.tack them to fab table .also tack stops to keep tubing parallel.ive done complete roll cages and tube frames this way.old school and simple.

How do you determine how much heat to apply? Too much and one can ruin the stainless properties wich would be not so good.

Why not simply use a tube bender for work like that? There’s nothing in the end result that prevents use of a tube bender.
