Hi, That is a very good idea. Do you have the same experience bending aluminum pipes? Please teach me how much temperature is required to bend the aluminum tube?
I've seen guys use this same exact method, all the way down to the charcoal, with 3" pipe, carefully bending around old rims. Not everyone can afford mandrel benders.
Love seeing the kind of work that can be done with minimal/marginal tools. Not everybody has access to a shop with the latest and greatest equipment.
I was hoping to see this done with thin wall exhaust tubing.
Me too.
welding with sandals must be fun.
just need a layer of tin foil ontop during welding

Good job my friend !
Nice 'safety sandals' ! 🙄
That’s some tiny exhaust pipe. What a joke.

Ever hear of a motorcycle?
How thick it it?
G 40
that is not exhaust pipe try on 2 1/2 inch pipe
What sand is that inside?
...Our looks out like a damaged hot dog....why?
What's the significance of heating the sand?
So that the sand will not stick to the pipe.

I've always heated the sand to bake out the moisture so that the tubing won't become pressurized and maybe pop when heated.
Can i bend 15degrees stainless steel pipe without using sand, but with just enough heat to bend it?
For me, It can't be. The pipe would be damaged if you don't use sand.
