The best part of this video is the voice of that little angel. The power a lil girl has over her father is so awesome. Couldnât help but notice you dropped that socket awfully quick to help her đ
She had me worried there for a second.. đ daddy had to go!
Way the heck more important than a car đđ
@@hotrodray6802 heard that. Iâm not an expert by no means but I have 3 little ladies myself running around and they have me wrapped đ
I ran cut springs (one coil off each corner) for 8 years. Never had a problem. Goid ride height and good ride
Yes sir â
What I e been running for 2 years!! Same no issuesđ
I've always wanted a fox body and am now finally planning on picking one up. I originally wanted a notch, but after watching hundreds of videos and finding your channel and seeing all your cars, I have decided this car is exactly what i want. An lx or gt hatch , calypso green, with saleen sc wheels. Its perfect. Thank you.
Always nice to see Andrew's Fox's on the channel.
Glad your theory about the rear suspension worked out.
Between watching yours and neomustangs channel.... I'll never waste $ buying lowering springs again. I'm cutting em from now on.
The beginning of thos was the cutest thing I have ever heard. Stock springs for the win. Love the stance. Andrew's Casper sounds wicked
Real talk i agree. love your channel bruh
Everyone kept looking at me crazy when I was upgrading my rear last year and stayed with stock location springs... Glad I went with my gut and ignored the upgrade everything trolls .Still curious to hear Andrews thoughts on them Viking's he's been keeping in stock for you. Now get out there and DRIVE that turbo beauty đ»đ€
Wow! Sorry I haven't caught up for a while but the calypso with the Wheels combo you have on it now is absolutely perfect the best yet the car is never looked better!đ
Thank you đ
Very cool, great information. Thanks đ for sharing.
The stangs that made them so popular! Glad I still own mine! 93 Lx Highly modified! Great video brother! Thanks for sharing!
Car look great brother glad that took care of the noise for ya Iâm sure it was driving you crazy
Those wheels with that stance and that color. What an absolute beauty man. Cheers đ»
Thanks bro!
I've experienced a similar situation with a fox body that had a spool & off brand lowering springs . It was very noisy & would shake drastically . I installed some polyurethane isolators & they solve the problem . Thank You
đșđČđ”đ·đŠđ
I love the way that car sounds!
I totally agree with you I got a complete set of maximum Motorsport coilovers sitting on Bilstein shocks totaling close to $1,800 and it rides like crap not to mention when you turn the wheel full lock you can hear the springs twisting and clunking. I miss my stock springs. What I'm going to do is remove the coilover from the shocks and keep the Bilstein shocks but put the factory springs back in to the factory location
That stance is đ„đ„đ„đđ»
Really cool one, sometimes it not what the masses say, sometimes it what the seat/butt feel is, not what people think you should use , but what works for you best. Big thumbs up bud.
EastBama tapping in!!! Imma be str8 up witcha my dude, didn't really think (in my opinion of course) u was making a mistake by swapping those wheels, but calypso was looking soo sharp, but the more i see those rims the more i like them shitz!! Luv the ch, nvr miss a video bc im green as a whole entire pile of green shit when it comes to fxbdys. Had to find out the hard way that my car is 30 years old, and im not evn a half the shade tree fxbdy mechanic as i thought I would be and ur ch along with a few other popular fxbdy ch has helped my confidence to keep pushing forward on my car opposed to giving up and selling. I just wanted to pass that little bit of info to you, because I know I like getting Pats on the back and I would assume that you would too. I really think that you do way more for people than you actually realize. Hopefully I will have an opportunity to meet you And a few others at a ford take ovr event or something. So I can tell you that in person!! đđ
Also kinda semi personal question, but if u don't mind, what is the dimensions and price did it take to build a shop like that? Not all of your tools and equipment, Just the building itself??
Cool video! Love the car!
The calipso sit so beautiful đ
Been drooling on those wheels since they hit LMR. I have a red 86 convertible I'm hoping they look good on. After this video, definitely goin with 18sđ. The ride height is perfect as far as I'm concerned.
All I can is that change is a WIN WIN đ Looks soooo sic! đŻđđŸ
Thanks bro
I really like the way it sits. The stance looks bad ass.
I had coilovers on rear and went back to cut springs but put weight jacker control arms for adjustability. Much smoother ride!
Thatâs a good combo imo đ
Car looks really good. Love the wheels.
Appreciate ya
Stance is perfect đđŒ
That's why true coilovers are the way to go, not mounted in the factory location. I can't wait to test my detroit speed coilovers should be night and day
One issue could be running those solid/rod end upper and lower control arms, with no rubber back there it's going to make that spool really bind up the rear suspension
Iâm so damn envious of your garage at the house. I hate living in LA.
I live in LA too⊠Lower Alabama đâ
That calypso car is beautiful and sits perfect
Looks Sick man my dream car
Calypso looks perfect
I'm wrapping up my 1979 mustang coupe build and have done a complete aftermarket suspension swap .. upr k member kit w coilovers up front upr uppers n lowers with adjustable upr struts up front and adjustable shocks in back .. I often wonders n looked on eBay trying to figure out what I was gonna do for rear springs after seeing this video and a few others I'm bout half way convinced I need to go dig the old 4 cyl springs out of the shed and cut a coil off them and use them .. my car should be pushing around 750 hp I have a trans brake and plan on running around my small town here in east Tn and heading out to the local dragstrip on Friday night and see who all I can outrun .. so hard launches are important and you know how hilly and curvy the roads are here in east Tn so that's why all the suspension adjustability .. can you suggest a rear springs that will be better ?? This car has set for 7 years and I added up how much money I have spent a couple years ago and I was over 15k so I guess I could say money is no issue .. btw I haven't done one thing to body and paint so it's all go fast goodies ..lol
I have south side lowers , solid bushings in uppers and BMR double adjustable uppers .
I run cut BBK lowering springs in rear. I have coil overs in front .
Really diggin those 18s on a fox! I'm running an old 3550 out of an f150 as well. They are tough but noisy.
Awesome vid I'm building my notch now and I see everyone running coil overs I was on the fence about it got ford motorsport lowering springs in mine I wasn't sure if I should switch but now I'm leaning over to keeping my setup it's gonna be a daily driver
Coil overs seem to work ok without a locked differential.
Heresay only.
True Hotrod! They work better with a non locked diff. Just be sure to go with a light rear spring. Most are way to stiff imo
Now your on basically the same setup as me other than I have the team Z drag spring. I used to run the 1 coil cut GT spring it sit slightly higher
I've been WAITING for SOMEBODY to get in THIS pocket!!!!!!!
đȘ
This is a good video cause it probably saved me some money. Ive got koni orange shocks in the back with a lowering spring, and up front koni orange with upr coilover kit with upr cc plates and it sits perfect. However i can vouch for ride quality yet due to the car still being worked on.
Nothing lowered will ever ride great but in my opinion the cut springs are usually not as bad as some aftermarket lowering kits.
Amazing Video
Thanks bro!
Hopefully Andrew has some plans for that white coupe if he's upgrading the trans.
And glad to see you solved that rear end issue. Rattles and noises drive me crazy.
Maybe some boost ???
@@BREW2LFOXBODY Electric turbo FTW đ
Damn that Calypso Fox looks awesome!đ„đ€€
đ
Eaton Truetrak is the best unless you can stand the Detroit Locker.
I've done welded and spools and they are not good on the street. Lots of binding and jerking tire slippage.
Truetrak is my favorite.
Stance is SICK!!!!
Thanks đ
Your sons car is niiiice!
I will get a white notch with black interior one day!!
That's so cool your son is into the fox life
Heâs carrying the torch đ
interesting i have qa1 rear coil overs and are perfect fit and adjustment. are those the right coilover spring for that coil shock
Hey @brew2l. Iâm doing a budget build and Iâm hoping to run a 255/60/15 on some convo pro series. When doing the rear spring should I cut 1 coil or do the coil and a half you did on your other video with cutting springs
Beautiful đ€© car !!! New sub to ur channel, I have a 06 s197 gt that I bought last year , and looking to beef up the suspension to get ready for some upgrades and goals I have for the car , but Iâm just going through all the worn out parts as of now , and ur channel will definitely help me with a better understanding of how and what I should do with my mustang gt , anyhow thanks đ for sharing and canât wait to go through ur content ... thx again
I have the same set up installed taller springs etc I hated every moment I too went back to stick springs upr should tell people itâs terrible. They should of made a cone that fits solid in the hole so the shock wonât swim around
Calypso looks sweet.
With a spool and solid suspension somethings going to give in tight turns. It looks like your "weak" link or noisy link is the coil overs
Agreed đŻ
The finishing touch would be a set of Maximum Motorsports extreme duty adjustable perch lower control arms. Then you can dial that baby up and down till your heart's content and clear various tire sizes without issue. Ride height does look sick as is though! đ„
Its gonna be hard to come off those Team Z lowers after what I paid for them. Lol
@@BREW2LFOXBODY I hear you brother...and the MM's are around $479. Honestly, anything Maximum Motorsports is worth the entry fee though!
I went with the spherical to mounts from maximum motorsports for that exact reason
Spherical helped?
Youâre right! Having a small shaft with a big hole isnât a good thing no matter how you look at it⊠đ đđŒ
Definitely need to cut my springs. Even with my eibach sportlines it still sits an inch to high
I know it's an old video but what size is that wheel?? Thanks
I'm lowering my 64 pontiac bonneville 2 " , will this affect my turning ability ?
iâm telln you nothin on Gods green earth sounds better than a mustang!!!......yall keep doing it!đđż
Why would you run a spool on a daily driver with Street tires?
The way you got in the car & left the gas station looks like something was committed lol
Lmao đ€Ł
I've ran coilovers on the front of my car for years but have always leary of running them on the rear. I guess it's because I just don't know that much about them.
Whats the highest rpm you'd go in a stock fox?
Too low for me, looks damn good, but need some good springs for it but it'll drag everywhere
What size rims are you running.
Just need the front 1 inch lower than the back then it would be a 10 looks great
What kind of wheels are these?
Have you ever cut 1/2 a coil out
Coil is in front of the SRA on control arm and not attached directly to the SRA
Still rocking the 2.3 suspension lol đ I'm fat enough to lower it myself lmao
đâ
Beautiful fox body ,Cobra or not.
I need my content on the White NotchBack....tell your Son to start a Channel đ đ€Łđ
Man that white coupe sounds nasty
Need to paint Andrew's wheels white
Can you run both coil overs and the perch coil springs?
That would be a lot of spring rate đ
Thatâs right Drew, allegedly!
He knows⊠đđ
@@BREW2LFOXBODY ha!!!!
đ
throwing a hotdog down a hallway never a good thing hahahaha.
đđ
Slip some rubber hose over the shaft to fill the hole
đ€
Andrew needs some new headlights
they need a 5 lug version of these wheels
What springs did you cut stock or after market
Stock springs
@@BREW2LFOXBODY how much did you cut off the rear spring & if you were to cut fronts how much Thanks Jim Ohio
How many links did you cut out?
I âthinkâ it was 1 1/4 coils
For the â79-â04 Mustang crowd, I firmly believe all most people need are basic lowering springs like Ford Performance and Koni/Bilstein shocks.
I can agree with that
I got to do something my ole girl is looking like a squatted puck up truck đ
Oh no đ
Hey bro what do I need to do to get a decal

My coil overs ride like shoot...
đ I know there are some setups that probably ride good with the correct spring rate/shock setup but most seem to ride rough.
At least u didn't heat them up
This time đđ
The story was funny...:)
Even if you torch them, it's only 1/2 inch that's hot.
how many coils did you cut the springs
Is Andrew really ur boy?
Yes
sometimes suspension gets too complicated when simple is the right answer. Look at the street racing channel and there s10 that runs 130mph in the 1/8 on bare asphalt with mostly stock suspension. Here is a video where they show the suspension.
czcams.com/video/G1Ptu8amBuo/video.html
Want to sell them used coil overs Iâll take em off your hands đ€Ł lol
Way better no mo spool
Thatâs because you went w cheap coilovers. Get Viking coilovers.
