- It's been a while since I've done a mail unboxing and several boxes have shown up since the last one so it seemed like it was time to do another.
I was surprised to find countless locomotives, track and much more throughout the boxes. There was a complete mixture of vintage and modern locomotives and rolling stock as well as ten bags of cat treats for Nerf-Cat
A huge thanks to everyone who contributed to this unboxing for your generosity! - Zábava
The customized SMT loco is utterly fabulous, along w/ everything else!
I think this get´s the most use of them all. It´s so awesome with the lights and the sound and anything🤩
FYI, at 13:00 Coil Car are one of the ways 20-40 ton steel coils are transported. What makes this one interesting is that it is a insulated covered type of car. It is used to keep coils from the elements. The lids are designed to be taken off by an EOT overhead crane and stacked if needed. By a closeable tongs or HEP, tools used to move steel coils
That style of coil car is ubiquitous in the Detroit area, particularly around the Ford Rouge plant.

Happy Birthday SMT! Great unboxing video. Awesome folks sending you all those goodies. Have a great day.
Your videos are also so informative with so many different railroad companies. And as a Brit, myself thinking ''Which ones are factual companies, and which ones are fictional companies?''.
Thanks. Most of these are real except "sleh-eh" and "coming round the mountain".
Genuine Rhode Islander here, Providence & Worcester fills me with nostalgia when I was into trains when I was younger, and it is a great little 2nd class railway, its a shame they were bought out a few years ago by the Genesee & Wyoming conglomerate, and they no longer use their 2010s golden era Brown and Red liveries, my one thing I will say the pronunciation of Worcester is really more like "wooster" but I mean not everyone is from my state.. I will say if you really are into railroad history like I used to be, P&W did recently buy those Dash 8's but also a small fleet of SD70ACE's from Florida East Coast just before they got bought out themselves, and even if their track isn't as good as many class ones, they operate really an incredible fleet of engines for such a small state. My personal favorite of P&W's fleets WAS their MLW M-420's they operated in the early 2000s, because I am a sucker for Canadian Comfort Cabs. Keep up the content, love from the Ocean State!
If you want to pronounce Worcester like you’re from there, it sounds like wustah. Then we’ll know you’re a Red Sox fan as well
yea I watched these go through my town in mass shame they were bought out. my fav are a tie between the RS-3s and GP38-2s
They have SD70M-2s too!
What fun had by all ages....Thanks for the Train demonstration, I don't think I have ever been introduced to a better Birthday Party congrats.
Love the Illinois central locomotive and rolling stock!!! Just started collecting the line of rolling stock! Thank you for showing us all the fantastic ho scale stock
Lots of cool stuff Harrison! To answer the question about the Intermountain coil car, the prototypes are used to transport finished steel coils (each car can handle 4 to 6 rounds of steel coils, BNSF crews here refer them as "slinkies") and can either be run on mixed freight or unit trains (BNSF operates them on their trains that run between Memphis, Tennessee and Tulsa, Oklahoma as well as unit steel coil car trains). The unit steel coil car trains that operate here on the Thayer Subdivision aren't terribly long, only 2500 to 3000 feet in length, but are very heavy and usually operate with 3 locomotives with a single unit leading and 2 DPU pushers on the rear. The Intermountain car (as with most all manufacturers that produce HO scale steel coil cars) features removable hoods so that the car can be run with either the hoods on or off, also several manufacturers produce steel coil loads for these cars should you want to add loads to the car. Anyway, sorry for the rambling comment, but hope this helps! That Montana Rail Link SD70ACe is awesome!
Yes your correct on it sir that the coil cars carry rolls of steel coils i believe that it went to the steel mills i would say idk.
FYI at 19:30 , that is a cow calf unit similar to the EMD TR-1 setup. It is a cabless engoine mated to another loco to give more power for switching . kinda like a b-unit for other loco types
Happy Birthday Harrison. You have some very nice equipment there. I love the SMT MAINLINE Berkshire. All of the locomotives look awesome. Enjoy your birthday and give Nerf Cat a scratch between the ears.
For some reason I enjoy these unboxing videos the most on this channel. Always fun to see what comes in the mail.
I always enjoy watching your unboxing videos! there always seems to be some nice surprises! The coil cars are for transporting rolls of steel,
Some day someone will be out exploring the woods near your house and find a random bluebox locomotive and wonder "how did this get here?" 😅😅
Dang racoons......
That or they hauled it off to one of the neighbours houses in which case they will be very confused.
I hate raccoons. They dig through your trash (and sometimes stuff that is NOT trash as well) and they also have a very maddening enjoyment of your chickens🐔🪦.
Finally, that Birkshire is a real catch!!! Maybe you can get Cory (SP?) to send you a set of those decals so you can create a few MORE "SMT MAINLINE" locos!!! And....HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
Happy Birthday, SMT! Can’t wait to see the Providence and Worcester Locomotive run.
You have some very generous viewers. Love that 'Hershey's' tank car, and the SD24 locomotive. I have an IHC 'Presidential' series SD24 that I found at an antiques emporium a few months ago..and yesterday at a toy/train show I scored a complete set of Bachmann HO scale 'American Bicentennial' boxcars, new old stock in the sealed original boxes. The same dealer also had an IHC 'Presidential' SD24 locomotive exactly like the one I already have; 'new old stock' sealed in it's original box at a great price I passed on it but just may go back today to see if he still has it. Per this video I now have your shipping address so I just may send some train pieces your way as a thanks for great videos.
Those IHC products are excellent, they seem to last a pretty long time.
What a Birthday/Christmas gift haul. I’m so glad we get to see them run. I love the sound of the Katie Steel Wheels.
On the Japanese NYC there is an actual "concertina" coupling - at least that's what I've heard them called by some Europeans - I haven't seen any other locos or passenger car models that have a very realistic connection to represent the accordion looking connection used to walk between cars. As a kid, I always liked going from car to car on the train, it was just something I was fascinated with - I was a railfan at 5 & I'm old enough to remember steam power, though I really loved the diesels. I got to ride a fair number of trains in the 50s & 60s.
Happy Birthday 🎉🎉
The FA is by Trains Miniature. Classic Model Trains has a video on it. They sold mostly cars in the 60's-70's. A lot of the "billboard" reefers you see at train shows were made by them.
Mr. Corey did an outstanding job on that steamer. The green lights are the classification lights. Back in the timetable days the color green would denote a scheduled passenger train with more train sections following, IE: more passengers than could fit on the normal train, so they'd run another behind it. White, which would mean the last train of the group or an "extra" non scheduled train. Most freights ran as "extras". Or red, meaning the loco was reversing or had an emergency stop. The last Alco's built at the Montreal Locomotive Works still had them.
Thankyou very much Harrison I have learnt so much from your videos , I live in th land down under keep up the good work I'm 71 years old and enjoy watching you repair locomotives you have taught an old dog some new tricks thankyou.
You have some very generous viewers. Really liking those piggybacks! Although most of these seem to be runners, I’m looking forward to any overhauls you’re going to do.
One idea that I think would be fun is that you use the big boy to fundraise for a non profit railroad. How cool would it be using a model train to fundraise for a full size train.
I know a non profit railroad that I really like and support is the Sumpter Valley Railroad
It's gotta be registered since the fundraising is done through youtube but if it is that could be an option.
If Nerf Cat loves those treats lika our Creamsicle does - he's going to be ONE VERY HAPPY KITTY!!!!!
I will not deny it, that SD70ACe and Dash-8 are a great gift and above all they stand out in the fleet And not to mention that Berkshire
Everything else is good too but yes, what a great set of locomotives.
HARRISON: I was born in Worcester, Ma. The Providence Worcester line went between the two cities. BTW: It’s pronounced
Wuh-ster but if you’re from over here in New England… Wuh-stah…
The raccoons just wanted to make a layout lol jk
Good thing that they didn't eat you though
😂
I think they got the wrong box, I think they meant to go for the temptations cat treats.
They got off to a good start.
@@SMTMainline they already got a loco
8:14 Definitely a brand new paint job
I think so.
Happy birthday, SMT! And a great unboxing video, that SMT Mainline Berkshire will be a star on your layout!
Thanks Harrison and to tour generous fans. This is such a great video.
One of my favorite vids because this is the first one i watched when I came across SMT mainline
This would have to be my favorite unboxing video yet! I love all the locomotives!
Glad to hear it.
Great unboxing. There were a few things in the video that I can help on the identification. The Athearn Chicago Belt hopper is from the EJ&E (Elgin, Joliet, and Eastern) or known in the Chicago area as the "J". The next thing is the coil car. These are used to haul coil steel under the removable hoods. As for the Providence and Worchester railroad, it is a New England area railroad. The last thing that I noticed was the cigar band NYC locomotive. It is an Alco FA locomotive, and I would like to find out more about the Japanese company that made it. My estimate on the build date on the Alco FA would be sometime between the 1960s to the 1970s.
The New York Central engine was sold by Trains Miniature in the 70s. You can see their trademark on the fuel tank. In the 80s Walthers got the rights to use the shell castings and released FA-1s with a new drive system.
Alco FAs are a fav!😊
SMT, WOW... 31:55 I guess with your power, anything is possible. The NYC FA... its magnets seem a bit weak. Clean the contacts up a bit, and if it still seems underpowered, yes, the magnets. It does have beautiful weathering on the shell. The 2-8-4 Berkshire is fabulous. Did you also notice it has an operable front coupler? The N-Scale treasures, also "wow"... Those goodies for Nerfcat, crazy! Your holey box... I guess the animals are railroaders, too? When you mentioned seeing Oreo cookies scattered around, I laughed!
Awesome locomotives... I agree with the many other comments about the rest... Just plain WOW! Your fan base is great! That is why you can be proud of it all!
John
I was more confused where they all came from until I saw the box. It looked like it had rained oreos.
Great job on that SMT Mainline train, Corey! What a superb gift to you! He really appreciates your skills to award you such a tremendous gift! The Worcester (pronounced Woor/ches/ter or in Boston area Wooh/stah!! Haha😂)! And the Worker’s train…wowowow!
I've been watching you for over a year or better I see your layout has improved much nice job
Happy birthday Man. Always fun to see an unboxing.Keep up the good work :)
Some great fans! Nice
Great selection of locomotives. I especially like the essentials worker's one and the smt steam locomotive. I do not have an ho scale anymore, no room but I have enough n scale trains, track and accessories but have no time to set it up. Looking forward to more n scale videos in the near future. Have a great week.
🥳 Good to see so many subscribers sending parcels for your birthday, Harrison. 😊 Time to get the locomotives in order by Road Names from A to Z for easier access during livestreams. I wonder where they found that Canadiana boxcar, I'm missing one from my collection -- just kidding, but I have quite a few to pull behind the Canadiana locomotive you sent me.
Thanks for sharing. 👍🐾👍
I think a few Canadiana products slowly found there way across the boarder through train shows.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SMT🎉🎉🎉❤FROM SWEDEN
What a fantastic Birthday Bundle. Happy Birthday, great video.
That wasn’t a jack in the box, it was jacked up in the box. Great channel, love the engine revivals.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I remembered when i first encountered your channel before it was Shortened to SMT. But it gets me everything when people try to pronounce Worcester. It's more like rooster but replace the r with a w. Also, it's Providence, not province. Don't worry I use to say province when I first saw them.
To break it down, Providence is pronounced 'provi-dence'.
I hope that your post and mine help Harrison out.
Wow 🤩 what an amazingly generous haul 👌 love that SMT Berkshire too it’s awesome 👏
Glad to see you got the berkshire if you hit #3 the taillights and front marker lights come on I believe I added them . If you have any questions email me. 1 thing try changing cv 124 to 0 if the train chugs at a low speed. Thanks for everything.
That Berkshire is sweet
@Pap's train show I built that for Harrison put of spare parts the tender if from a Mallet 2 8 8 2 .I put a new motor in it cut the frame so it wasn't taking up the cab added lights and Dcc sound as a thanks for getting me back in the hobby and now thanks to you I build trains .
@@normancoreyBuildingTrains thanks, you are doing a awesome job for sure at building them locomotives.
Thanks again for all the effort you put into making it and sending it. I'm still amazed you were able to fit those lights in such a small space.
12:50 Evans coil cars carry rolls of finished steel to manufacturing plants for new automobiles and appliances.
Nothing wrong with that consist. Happy, Happy, to you sir
Enjoyed watching you run your new locomotives....really liked your SMT steamer!!!!!!
Awesome Train unboxing smt happy birthday 🎂
Glad you liked everything❤
Also, just wanted to let you know in the bottom of the “” Jack in the box is 040 I was talking about lol
I'm a bit late, but happy birthday!
Also, the Providence and Worcester railroad is a class 2 railroad that operates in the US states of Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts.
You have a lot of admirers, you must be a very nice guy!
What I find interesting on your videos is how easily things work
Hello Harrison,How I enjoy it. That you get so many beautiful locomotive controlled, I`ve been a member of your channel for a long time, When i come home from my shift at the NMBS Railway in Belgium( You know I`m a driver,) Then put i turn on my Laptop and then i will follow your channel This broadcast was about an hour, But it is also exciting for you what you are wearing, I think those Machines are real power patsers, I once stood in front of a level crossing there came 5 units with 150 wagons, 1 loco in the middle with another 150 wagons and 2 loco,s at the end of the train, Then i sometimes think how small we are compared to your Country, I always enjoy it that you can get them to talk again Harrison, You Model Railway Is Beautiful,Greetings from your Buddy Henk from Belgium Border❤😀😉
Wow, that Berkshire is outstanding. Love the train running with the Soo Line steam era caboose.
Also Providence & Worcester is in my neck of the woods, beautiful locomotives
Nerf cat is literally god himself in a cat that was captured in a really derp position
I love trains and I would love to see your friends every day and you do good with them
The more I watch him the more I want to take out my British railway setup again
When I watch you open up at herb blue boxes makes me feel like a kid on Christmas
Happy birthday, CZcams's best Mainline ;) I'm glad you enjoyed the presents people sent you and that you've had as good a time opening as I've been having watching your channel. Love them videos, thank you for everything :)
Thanks a bunch!
I hope that this channel reach 1 M soon
I just got a 1960's-70's Gilbert American Flyer S-gauge set. Unfortunately it was missing the track and transformer, so I am still waiting on those. This will be my first train I ever own! :)
What an awesome group you have here Harrison. Very generous bunch of folks. Happy Birthday! Looking forward to seeing more in the future and definitely looking forward to seeing some more N scale stuff. Thanks for the link to the N scale Amtrak set you showed me as well.
13:46 wow what a beautiful unit! I just got my first Genesis unit, a rare Norfolk Southern. That’s a gorgeous gem please enjoy and it’s crisp sounds and operation! 😮❤
Ps happy belated birthday!!
You're definitely going to have a lot of fun with that SMT Mainline Berkshire
Happy birthday Harrison I hope you have a great birthday party
Wow, that was great.
Happy Birthday too.
Cheers mate.
You got all that from viewers? For your birthday? Wow! My birthday is in February! Ha! Ha! Congrats! So thoughtful of them.
The Lionel Christmas flat car might be from an old Marx HO mold. Model Power bought the Marx moldings when Marx sold his company in 1972, and later on Lionel bought the molds when Model Power went under.
13:35 Atlas SD24 with details and a special paint scheme.
As a Milwaukee local they have Walthers, Sommerfelds, South Side Trains, Hiawatha Hobbies and Happy Hobby. Of you ever come out let me know and maybe i can take you to all the places.
Happy Birthday! these guys have a big heart sending you these great trains and the kitty treats :)
Very cool montage at the end with all the locomotives. Happy Birthday!
Thanks, I had fun making that.
13:19 So thet "van" you have it's actually called a panel truck. It's based off a Chevy Suburban. There basically the same thing. In fact they share the same engine and and body style as the regular 3100 pickup.
KCS top passenger train was the Southern Belle. My grandfather worked for the Louisiana & Arkansas, which was merged into the KCS, as a machinist and my father paid for college by working as a locomotive fireman
Happy birthday Harrison. Nice haul and that one hopper is an Elgin Joliet and Eastern railroad with the slogan around not through Chicago Outer Belt. Now part of Borg North 1 ( aka Canadian National). Going to have to finish the video later because my old backside can't stay up so late but geeze louise this is definitely a roads surrounding me with the EJ&E,Soo Line and Chicago Central. LOL much love for the Nerf Cat. Obviously watch out for Oreo fueled model railroading raccoons though I had to laugh as about 8 years ago on Easter helping bro get plastic eggs out for the nieces and nephew but of course 2 teenage girls getting ready meant no time for eggs before services and brunch so we returned about 2 in the afternoon to discover we had unleashed the sugar fueled squirrelpocolypse on the town as the squirrels chewed open the eggs and ate all the candy. Turns out squirrels however do not like lime tootsie rolls.
What a fun vid to watch, especially at the end‼️👍👍
SMT! That was awesome, most of those locomotives run. Even the old athearn blue box engines run and the old riverossi engines run well....... nice!!!. That steam locomotive with sound!!!! I was blown away by that.
It's so awesome!
Beautiful worker's train ~ Raillink! Wow.
Raccoons and trains? Interesting!
Kinda sounds like that Athern linked pair of UP switchers is a dual motor. That would explain the wires going to the cabless unit.
There's only one wire though so I don't know how it would be powered.
35:57 I like that comin around the mountain locomotive
4:13 Elign Joilet and Eastern actually that's what the reporting mark EJ&E is.
Happy birthday smt😊
You’re the one that got me back in the model trains
Happy late birthday Harrison!
The KCS observation car "Good Cheer" resides in the rail yard where I work and keep my rail cars. It is currently on a flat car under going restoration.
Im glad peter's box wasn't invaded by racoons 😂
Hi I'm Eli. I'm 7. I'm so interested in trains. I love watching your videos!
Soo Line is my jam! I sonsulted w/them in the 80's!
The yellow and blue Santa fe in the thumbnail. Was one of the first sets I had
The p&w locomotive is actually ex santa fe, one of a few to exsist that either didnt get scrapped or repainted into bnsf and p&w actually runs in my home state of mass, ive seen their units on rail cams, and their paint is striking
since i have been watching train videos on you tube and seen all the trains my fellow model rail roaders have makes me feel like i have no trans at all, and i have a bunchLOL! well when you are into trains you always find a new one you want to add to what you have!
That New York Central you received is TRAIN MINIATURE. ALCO FA-1 maybe!
Sweet video SMT- your subscribers really think a lot of you and your channel- I really enjoyed watching your excitement
Thank you!
I love Archer beef jerky and I had to add the essential worker loco to my wishlist
8:40 Is that Shrek? Lol. Great haul. Very generous community.
It might be, I didn't notice that the first time lol
That Providence and Worcester Loco is cool that the railroad company in my state of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
You have a Loco that's owned by the same company genise and Wyoming your orange and black one. That's paint on The p&w is their old scheme the new scheme is the orange and black.
Glad someone sent you one finally.
