Your cricket knowledge a cut above my partner in life, who just goes along for the afternoon tea...
Appreciate that. I have loved learning about it. I have another channel dedicated to it called Cricket for Americans. Feel free to check it out.
For 34 years my husband has constantly tried to explain cricket to me. Despite numerous times telling him "I am not even vaguely interested" he seems to think just one more explanation will get me hooked. Not even afternoon tea will get me interested. I've come to think that my final deathbed conversation with him will be about whether or not someone in some game should have been out 🙄🤣
Wow, I’m super impressed. An American who knows about cricket. Wow.
Michael McIntyre was interviewed by Jonathan Agnew on Test Match Special one time and talked about how every cricket fan has a signature shot that they shadow bat around the house and usually its a pull shot or a drive but his shot he shadow bats around the house is a leave. Very funny interview.
The English rugby thing is spot on because it was was a posh public school sport played by amateurs originally where they all all had other jobs\professions (accountants, lawyers, doctors etc.), or came from money. So they've probably come from a morning of shooting grouse then onto a game of ruggers before heading back to their manors for a hot bath and a brandy...
they weren't too posh from where I'm from, NZ... unless they made the All Blacks and then learn how to talk pretty and proper
@@donaldduck2139 It's the same in Aus now, but back in 80\90s they were mostly north shore private school leather elbow patch toffs. Now they're as rough as dog's balls. Just look at the "honey badger"...
...said the socialist.
@@johnwhear9600 go hard the dogs balls 😅...yeah if ya spoke rough they could school you and change that but if you were too scrap happy with the ol fists you were shut out...shame
@@johnwhear9600 He hasn't played for years. Decided to play reality TV star instead.
When i was a kid (Pre-professionalism) the rugby and football were described as " Football is a game for gentlemen played by yobs and Rugby is a game for yobs played by gentlemen".
I know more about baseball than I do cricket... and here's an American that knows more about my national sport than I do... that's wild...
I’m relatively impressed by your knowledge of cricket, bravo.
Amazed about your knowledge on cricket - and so instant in your reaction as well !
So freakin cool that you care about that sport and really loving your channel - keep it up with the UK comedian stuff !
I wouldnt watch a Brit commenting on UK comedy but loving the American perspective on everything LOL UK ! Big Love xx
At the end of the day😂😂 good video. Very rare and American that understands cricket
They do change the balls regularly in tennis they then sell the used balls in the gift shop
In tennis new balls are introduced every 9 games. Given the pummelling the balls take, they are variable in wear which affects their movement through the air and the bounce achieved.
Ooh I’ll have to check out your others. If you haven’t done herbs and spices it’s my favourite of his. I’m taking my Mum to see him in June for her 80th, he’ll be in Sydney then!
Good recommendation, I hope your mum enjoys the show
Peter Kay and Michael McIntyre are my favourite comedians. Michael is funny about Christmas.
Does his comedic prowess diminish by Easter time.
@@michaelayling8855😀
totally, his christmas video is good
The pomp and ceremony around sports hilarious! 😂 Put them in a general knowledge quiz... DUUUUUUHH.. 🤪🤯🤣😁
The “Men arena” gag right at the start of the video is the M.E.N Arena (Manchester Evening News) Arena which was the sponsor of the venue at the time of Ariana Grande terrorist attack. Obviously the video was pre terrorist attack
Historically football was a working class game and rugby was a middle class game..... rugby was played at the posh schools where you had to pay to send your children to and at Universities, so it was the upper classes who played rugby. Rugby has only been a professional sport since the 1990's ..... before that theplayers were all doctors, soliciotors, businessmen etc. (Some areas, like Wales and the South West of England had rugby as their main sport for everyone)
Rugby was played at our grammar school decades ago and in a working-class mining town in the north-east
Loving Nicks T shirt. Where do we get one? Can’t beat michael well unless your called Micky or Peter 😂
Good choice guys, thanks for doing more McIntyre
How do you know it was Nick that picked it, and not Jodi?
Good point buddy, at the start Nick just said this video was more for him
Impressed with your knowledge of the beautiful game my friend
Didn't you know?........"Soccer is a gentleman's game played by hooliganism and rugby is a hooligan's game played by gentlemen!"
An England cricket cap? Every good. Glad you like the glorious game! Next time wear a Newcastle United cap/shirt haha.
I did wonder about his cricket knowledge when I noticed his cap.
The differences between rugby & football consists of more than the first glance obvious !!!
Keyword : " culture "
Rugby. A hooligans game played by gentlemen.
Football. A gentleman's game played by hooligans.
This is so funny 😂🤣
that rocking back and forward that you never seen before, is more like pole vaulters or high jumpers... before their run up am pretty sure... I remember cricket at school it was always played by guys who weren't very athletic...
Here in the uk baseball is called rounders which was one of my P E classes at school
It’s often said - “football is a gentleman’s game played by thugs and rugby is a thugs game played by gentlemen”
Matt Dawson a rugby legend was the person who they showed during rugby section
I sometimes see Nick wearing a Vegas Golden Knights sports jersey on your reviews. AFC Bournemouth, the English football team I've supported for many years is now owned by Bill Foley who owns the Golden Knights. It's made a few of us supporters keep an eye out for the Golden Knights as we have the mutual owner when we may have never done that before! I'm a woman who loves football, cricket and tennis and I'm impressed what you know about about cricket! My brother is hugely into American Sports, so I've watched a fair bit in my time when he's had them on the TV, but I still have a lot to learn. Not a lot of time left to put my all into it though after watching all the football and cricket that's on TV over here, but good to have a passing interest.
Appreciate this comment. Cricket is fantastic to watch. I got into it four years back and am very glad I did. The GK won the Stanley Cup last season which was a big deal here in Vegas.
The Twenty20 version of cricket has reduced even test cricket down to a bit of a slog so that very few test matches now last the full five days. I don't think they even sell advance tickets for the last day of test matches.
I’m fascinated by the fact that you like and enjoy cricket
I literally CAN'T BELIEVE an American is into cricket!!
Only because Jennifer Lopez was on "The Jonathan Ross Show" once and she had NEVER HEARD OF IT.
Hi lovely couple Michael McIntyre ,on women getting ready , a real good watch have fun
THIS IS LIKE RIDING ON THE BACK OF GIFTED PERFORMERS.
PLEASE JUST SHOW THE CLIP FULL FRAME AND OMIT THE INTERRUPTIONS.
IT IS WHAT THE PERFORMER WOULD HAVE WANTED.
Wow. An American who knows about cricket. 😮🏏
Love cricket. Got into it years back. I actually have a channel dedicated to it with Gabe from this channel. It’s called Cricket for Americans.
Did you guys say you are Nick & J ? Only I'm English but live in Denmark and there is a really famous rap/pop duo in Denmark called Nik & Jay :D
I think the saying goes- “ football (soccer) is a gentle game played by hooligans, rugby is a vicious game played by gentlemen. Or something like that.
You need to review the 'welcome to Wrexham' show/documentary about the football (soccer) club owed by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhaney 👌
As you like Michael McIntyre, you will definitely love his portrayal of: ‘Only British People Do This’

The real reason hey reject the ball is after they look at the knap of the ball
When you talk to your husband about world sports he'd be lost!!! 😂
Someone said way back when that football is a game played by gentlemen but watched by hooligans, and rugby is a game played by hooligans but watched by gentlemen.
Slightly different now of course.
The rules of Cricket Explained to a foreinger (Funny)
Cricket: As explained to a foreigner...
You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out.
When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game
Yes Its old but its a goodie!!
Recommended you watch
Michael McIntyre..Women Getting Ready 😊
You should check out his women getting ready joke
Wow😮a yank that understands cricket😉
Tennis: All about the fluff. More the fluff, more the spin and turn. Less the fluff, more faster and rapid it is. Depends in what your tactics is.
there is a famous expression; when asked what is the difference between rugby and football? the answer was "one is a thugs game played by gentlemen, the other is a gentlemens game played by thugs"
Its called a Test because that's exactly what it is... a test to see who's the best team. Some people would consider American football boring because it soooo repetative and they somehow manage to eek out 60 minutes play to last three hours!
There’s a saying that goes, football is a gentlemen’s game played by thugs and rugby is a thugs game played by gentlemen.
Cricket isn't as popular in Scotland, for example as a steward in the mid 2000s ii had to travel down to Old Trafford, about a 5 hour drive, pissing down with rain, all day no play, went for shelter in the clubhouse was chatting away with some random blokes...i was subsequently told that was the English cricket team, i still couldn't name one today.
That sucks that you travelled that far for nothing. It’s cool you got to talk to some of the guys. Old Trafford seems to always have rain outs.
@@BoringReviews 8 or 9 unpaid travel hours is what sucked more than the ten hours of rain lol
Footballs ( not effin soccer ) roots were always working class ( common class ) - rugby started in public school ( public schools in Britain are the same as expensive private school in U.S.) and tend to be more middle/ upper class - hence a bit posher !
Rugby (union) was a non-professional game, until recently (unlike Rugby League), meaning that poor people hadn't the means to play Rugby for free. Hence the Posh image.
Watch Sean lock carrot in a box
Football is considered to be a game played by gentlemen watch by thugs. Rugby is the opposite. Just to say I'm glad that Noel, or Liam Gallagher weren't in the audience went he made the man city jokes. However if you wish to understand Football watch the upcoming F,A. Cup final that is ironically between Manchester united & Manchester City. Catch you later take care 😊
Golf was described as spoiling a good walk. Cricket is a waste of life.
I think he’s dreadful.Come back Peter Kay.
Get lost and leave us alone
Michael McIntyre it could be said is a waste of life, please don’t post anything else of his. Cheers 😊
Shut it and let us enjoy our actually funny comedian
