    Thanks for the tutorial! How do you deal with the Ai fog in the Render Layers? My fog is showing up in the mattes of all the meshes of the layer collection used to mask out the primary visibility object, and can't seem to get rid of them with overrides. Haven't been able to find any documentation on this. Does Ai fog make the scene impossible to render objects in separate layers?

  • @mmoboxs
    @mmoboxs Před 5 lety +2

    • @AcademicPhoenixPlus
      @AcademicPhoenixPlus  Před 5 lety +1

      Unfortunately, no. You have to render one, and then composite the other one. Not easy, but it's possible. :)

    why do you use the normal maya lights instead of the arnold ones?

    • @AcademicPhoenixPlus
      @AcademicPhoenixPlus  Před 5 lety

      I personally use spot lights because they are easy to use, aiming the direction is easy and the light is focused on a particular point instead of washing the whole environment. It gives me a lot of control. :)

      Hey Monica,
      also I am impressed by how incredibly easy is to handle fog and environment atmosphere in Arnold! That was totally unexpected to me, because all the other renderers I have used in the past (and still using, like V-Ray), don even come close to Arnold in this department.
      I am so pleased with this engine, really!

    There are two things that most video tutorial presenters do to turn off an audience. the first one is to start the video with little or no pre-production preparation. The second one is to move the scene randomly with no particular intent. You have moved this scene non stop for the first 60 seconds with no particular intent. Please stop doing that, it is really annoying.

      Absolutely! In the lights, scroll down. There should be an attribute called "Visibility". There are a bunch of sliders, drop "volume" down to 0. the light will no longer have fog. I hope that helps!
