  • Here is a quick video showing how to use the Area Flattening tool, which hopefully removes the guesswork and frustration.
    IMPORTANT:
Read the installation instructions in the Orbiter Forum Thread:
    -----------EDIT--------------

I live in Germany and the European Football Championship is currently underway here. After every game, the best player of the match is awarded: "Player of the Match"
For me, you are one of the ORBITER Players of the Match. Thank you very much!

Very cool! A couple of years ago when I was trying to put a base on Vesta, this would have been awesome to help flatten out an area for a small landing pad base.

Oh GOD Dimitris you just gave the flatearthers the tools to destroy the world! Now everything will be flat and level!
Very very useful tool. People who make bases in Orbiter 2016 know what i mean.

Hahaha! Holy crap, I'm a flat-earth enabler. I wonder what will happen if I remove the 10 km limit that I've imposed to the tool and I enter the Earth's diameter instead?

Going to try this at WIDEAWAKE

I am currently working on a more "polished" version with extended functionality. (you can move the tool on the surface with keys instead of the scenario editor and a few more features). When done I will upload it as an Orbiter addon. I'll leave the current link working till then and later I will update to the full addon
