You heard the man! Always wipe your pencil!
Gotta keep the blade clean! Samurai style.
..
@@ProkoTV bro didn't get it lmao
@@aoife4128 he got it, just flaunting his favorite position.
@@childwhipper lmao yea
My man is aging like fine wine
Actually, he looks like he doesn't age.
@@HowlingMoonCinemas Fine wine means it’ll never age
So what they means that he doesn’t look like he’s not gonna age! :)
*(just clearing things up)*
@@absolutely1nothing I don’t think so? Wine definitely ages. Wine is made with the intent of it aging and developing a better flavour. “To age like fine wine” means to improve with age, like some people say wine does.
@@mello-by Wine is made out of grape juice, so it looks like it doesn’t age but they clearly does.
Just like how a person still ages but looks the same
@@absolutely1nothing You never cleared anything up. I already knew exactly what he meant. And you are wrong, that's not what it means. :)
There should be a sharpener that cuts that angle
Razors: Are we joke for you?
There is. You can get curve cut sharpeners online. I’d recommend a mix of both with your pencils as that hard edge is nice on things like stairs or building edges
@@Fella_friend it also seems like it would be good for mountains!
@@2GoatsInATrenchCoat true
*profile, not angle
Never thought about using sandpaper to modify the pencil's edge.
Thanks
Your art supply store can sell you a sanding block -- a stack of 2 X 7 cm strips of sandpaper attached to a handle -- look for them where you get your pencils.
No need to use a sandpaper just use a normal paper like a normal person
I use a 1000 grit sharpening stone.
I was worried it would effect the stone but it seems to not matter at all. The graphite cleans off it easily with water.
I get this with normal paper in my history class about two hours ago
Thank you! Side-Shading has always been an issue for me, and now I know how to make a pencil even deadlier.
That electric sharpener is the biggest flex😂
"Always wipe your thing after the rub"
-proko 2023
He didn't even say that?
@@sqeekeezthehamster1116 idk what your talking abt, of course he did smh my head 😔
I do that too except without sandpaper, just carefully rotate the pencil periodically and doodle for a bit till it's right
For me, I just do like he did but instead sand paper I use normal paper.
@@mad_imad6177 I usually use my forehead instead.
@@swordzanderson5352 Iknow it's a joke but genuinely want to know the logistic of it.
@@mad_imad6177 If you have enough wrinkles and pores on your forehead, you have a free sandpaper. After you're done, just ask your mom to lick the graphite off and voila.
This is actually useful
I don’t have a sharpener at home so sometimes I use an x-acto knife
A great tool for it!
We were taught that way when I went to the art institute. It's more efficient, less waste.
My dad thought me the trick like 20 years ago... And it's still wonderful today...
“The tip gets darker and softer as you get to the thicker part” 💀💀
Bruh
That's what she said
Eh
Haha he said tip haha
its about a PENCIL.
the graphite on your fingers is the most relatable part of this video
“There’s no way to get a nice feather” get one in the exact moment he says it lmao
I sharpen the pencil with a box cutter like the oldies and just manually carve a point while the rest is quite straight for shading. It's honestly therapeutic to do.
Good tips
The best shading tip ❤
oh man this is what I would do! my school notebooks were always filled with dusty graphite splotches in the corners lol. I didn't even realize this is what I was doing until you showed the visual comparing the pencil tips, I just noticed I got better results when the pencil was slightly used! good video!
its stuff like this that makes me realize alot of art is the tools too
Put it halfway into a regular pencil sharpener and just rotate a bit. it cuts it perfectly in seconds (could need some practice as it can ruin the tip slightly)
This is the first time I’ve ever gotten a tip on how to use a pencil I’m actually sobbing it works tysm
“There’s no way to get a perfect feather”
He says as he does it then quickly changes scene.
Thank you so much for this tip! ❤ You are so amazing! 😊
Wow this completely changed the way I draw thanks.
I remember being taught to do this for charcoal
now this is an actual pro tip!
im a self trained artist of about 20 years and I never thought to do this.
Love these shorts ! Thanks
I also do this but I've never thought of using sandpaper. I just kept on writing until the tip gets rounder
Damn that would have been useful when I was going through the figure drawing lessons years ago. Never understood how to do my pencils like proko's
Now i know why my friend bought me a Sand paper
MAN YOURE A LIFE SAVER
I've always wanted to lean how to do this, Thanks!
the lines of sharpner does the job for me
He has the fingers of an artist
This would look amazing for drawing eyeliner
I dont even draw, but i still watched the whole. I feel smarter now. Thanks
Useful tip for when I draw traditionally! 👍
Absolute gold of a channel
Thank you for the tip ☺️
damn, that actually was useful art info, thx
my math teacher wondering why i'm taking out sandpaper after asking to sharpen my pencil during a math test
You can also round it out with the cardboard on the back of a school notebook.
I’ve done this too without even thinking much about it.
when my man said, "...I'll just use the tip", I felt that.
Omg thank you that's so useful
Thank you!
You can also use a nail file instead of the sandpaper.
Nice tips thank you 😊!!
This is actually a really good tip
I don't know if this is a pun... hmmm
Really helpful!
Thank you very much I can use this for my journalism
Ooo thanks for the tip!
You should but the LYRA sandpaper and foam pencil sharp thing because its a smaller version of a sandpaper and you can do that trick or that sharpening technique
Thanks a lot this was really useful.❤😊
Graphite is also usefull for squeking door hinges :)
I love using the side, I use it to blend easier
I’m glad I saw this cus when you draw light and get in you half times or highlights it’s so annoying when you make it to dark
Wow thanks for the advice 😎
Thx for the tip I actually needed it!
Very helpful thanks a lot
It`s a good technique. Another thing you can do for shading is to have a graphite stick or just a 5.6mm clutch pencil and shape the tip for the purpose. Then you have more lead to go on. I break a piece of it and use the sides for shading too.
Omg thanks!!
Ima craft a curved sharpner... Thanks for the idea!
you can do this with those sharpeners with 2 holes , first in the smaller hole , then a little bit in the bigger one
I never knew this was an actual thing, usually do it whenever I'm done drawing or making the line art
I was taught to use an exacto instead of a sharpener. U don't waste as much of the pencil that way. U can have ur smooth side and sharper edges like this guys talking about.
Try it. It's my preferred way to sharpen.
Fun fact-ish:
John Wick sharpen the pencil like a bullet before 3 men came into the bar
The shit that traditional artists do to make something
work a certain way always amazes me... It's hella creative tho so respect.
IVE BEEN WONDERING HOW PEOPLE GET IT LIKE THAT!!!
Thanks, this tip will really help me
[:
Thanks man very cool 👍
That's cool! Thank you :)
You just demonstrated the difference between the sharpening of kitchen knifes and axes
That was a great tip dude.. i love this channel..💯
Thanks!
someone could definitely a design a pencil sharpener to cut with that geometry and save a lot of work and mess
I like to use the pencil sideways normally to shade my drawings
Bro took sharpening a pencil to a whole new level
great tip ALL I NEED IS MORE THINGS ON MY DESK xD
idk why thats the 1st thing i thought about but fr great idea
Omg somebody knows this too? Finally
I used to do it too, but the kid me would just do the same motion on another sheet to have a soft tip!
the hard part is finishing up and checking how you did only to realize you sanded super unevenly and have to start over
I did that at school it was fun
wow that's actually very clever
the master of pencils
ill use this on my coil pens
So that's why I got that little paddle of sandpaper in my drawing kit
Thats a nice tip❤.
Actually a decent tip, no pun intended
that's a really good tip
Do it on a full piece of paper and put a thin resin and test how strong it is
i remember seeing a pencil sharpener from like 1890 or something that did that
I didn't knew art was this complex until I met internet saw people using different kinds of pencils pen , charcoal rubbers paper all the other meanwhile me who used to make sketches with normal pencil
That's actually amazing advice. +1
wierdly i already do this without knowing if this has any use nice to know its not a time waste
WHERE have you been ALL MY LIFE?!??!?
Tysm
*_flashback to my elementary arabic calligraphy lessons_*
Noooo why you remind me thissss
I've mastered the Chinese Pencil Art because of this style of how to sharpen your pencil. Mine is little longer but, that one is good tho. If you're beginner try this Type of sharpen and practice the shadings of the objects and also always control the pencil on how you move your hand because it can destroy or ruined your art or drawing if you didn't controlling your pencil properly, Just like BRUSHES.
*First I sharp my pencil in the Electric sharpener*
Mission failed, we'll get them next time
"Just the tip" he says
