I think being tired all the time and being burned out/depressed/anxious and having other health problems related to burn out are extremely real and. It’s good that Dr has good positive mind set shift it’s extremely important to take care of yourself and do things that bring you joy and happiness and take care of your physical and mental well-being. Being healthy and happy is the goal of our life and not other things.

I think you're slightly conflating "tired" and "sleepy." I don't think being physically exhausted is conducive to productivity or wellness (from the perspective of an ER doctor). Efficiency plays much more into the equation than someone striving to simply be "tired" and thinking that will get them places may initially realize.

Hey Dr. Ossareh, just wanted to say hello and that I’m an OG subscriber 😅 I remember watching your Med School videos in high school when the channel was small; that was years ago. Congrats on 100k subs and finally becoming a doctor!
Also this was a great video. The only caveat I would add is that people should obviously be aware that chronic tiredness can also be due to other serious (yet common) things like an under-active thyroid, vitamin imbalance, mental health, anemia, etc. So anyone in doubt should always see their doctor. But of course you know all this, and your intention for the video was a bit different which I understand :)
Thanks again, and I hope you’re doing well!
    God bless.

DocOssareh brings a lot of value to his medical community - through his videos and dry humour. I was actually telling my nurse sister the same thing; perspective is indeed the determinant of what we can achieve and create.

Being "tired all the time" can also be a sort of depression.. It can also lead to people drinking or using drugs in order to feel better.. Some dont understand. The depression occurs when people are so tired in their free time they feel they cant even enjoy that time and do things they like.. Many dont understand or cant explain depression. They believe its being sad and crying etc. Think of depression as living on autopiolet, nothing is very joyful anymore.. You do what needs done though, yet you cant get over this constant feeling of being "tired".. While I agree with what your saying, you can not rule out depression. Even highly sucessful people can be depressed. I was one for years who avoided being seen by all costs. Living like this for years.. I eventually started taking better care of myself and saw a doctor. I was prescribed antidepressant, which I was nervous about.. but 5 months later I feel much better than I did before. My point for writing this all is to help people that feel this same way and have for years to suck it up and get the courage to go see a doctor.. Worst comes to worst medication may not work for you, no ones forcing you to take it. Some benefit from talk therpy, a change in mindset etc. For me talking about the way I was feeling and doing everything in my power to change my mindset did not help me. Hence why I reluctantly tried medication. Wish everyone the best of luck!

Opinions by other people are just opinions. Ultimately you have to know and choose what is right and best for you, your health and your family’s health and well-being. Medicine and the medical community doesn’t do anything to explain that.

Not gonna lie, he had me in the first half. I was having a big smile that he'll say it's fantastic to be lazy. I mean I'm tired all the time, but I'm home all the time.

I think what he says is that you should be working hard throughout the day so that your body easily goes to sleep and that is a pksitive thing. It’s positive productivity and your body get to go to sleep easily and wake up refreshed. And we need to look for the two signs that is going to sleep quickly and waking up refreshed to see as a marker for our healthy levels. That’s what I’m taking away from this video.

DocOssareh, love this video. It is all about the mindset. We live in a society we love self pity. This is a great perspective and a new voice. Of course there has to be a balance, but yep, it is great to be busy and tired :) On a different note, this might be a taboo subject. I recently loss my mom to Parkinson's disease. I wonder if you can offer any perspective on death, not specific to any cause of death..but more from a human perspective as a doctor who might have dealt or witnessed a lot more death than people who aren't in this field.

Hey Doc i just saw your video on professional attire for med students. Please can you make a video on what to wear( especially for female med students) as an international med student for a USCE during the winter season. How do you dress for the transition from the cold outside winter to the warmer weather inside the hospitals?
Ps: if anyone else has advice for me i would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance

LOL, being chronically tired is NOT normal nor is it good for you. This is why doctors are losing respect. And if your doctor tells you this please, please look for another doctor.

What the hell ? Relax buddy, he’s telling you how he has changed his mindset about being tired in a positive way. He’s not talking about a condition
Don’t like it because you prefer to cry about how hard your life is ? Then YOU should go find another CZcams channel and not come here, instead of asking people to go find another doctor lol
