Thanks for all your informative videos - they are very helpful. I recently installed a GSZC18/AVPTC in my home. A licensed installer did the work and the system runs fine so far - have used both heating and cooling. One confusing thing is that in CoolCloud, it says "HEATPUMP - UNKNOWN" even though Device Settings and Device Status for the GSCZ18 are viewable/adjustable. I do note that CoolCloud shows a C1 Fault Code (ClimateTalk communication error) for the Heat Pump along with a D2 System Mismatch for the air handler. Wiring is correct - just the the two wires for the GSCZ18.
Under "Configuration Info" it is blank except for the top header which just says "HVAC Device - Heat Pump" but everything below is a blank page, there is no identifying info for the heat pump.
I would think CoolCloud should be showing the model number for the GCZC18 instead of "Unknown" since it is a communicating system. Not sure what is causing this lack of information - any ideas?

Be honest the D2 surprises me more than a C1 code. Just a few things, be 100% sure you are not using a comfortnet thermostat, you should be wired for a Legacy thermostat only. the 12RC is for outdoor equipment only. The next thing to resolve your comm issue would be to power down the outdoor unit and turn off both micro switches (1 and 2) marked TERM., usually on that board located near the learn button not to far from defrost switches. Your polarity must be correct and your voltage across 1 and 2 (control wires) should be .6 volts DC or so. If none of that corrects your issues I would be curious on the serial numbers of the equipment. That would tell me if we have had data issues or matching issues.

Thank you for the information. I just purchased a complete Goodman system with the Coolcloud capability but does this mean I need to locate and purchase a HI-151 Coolcloud Shared Data Loader? My friend is a licensed installer and he will be doing the charge side and I am doing most of the setup with his checking the settings when I am finished and I didn't know if this CoolCloud process can be hardwired (If so how many wires from thermostat to the Heat Pump would be adequate?) and if so how many wires for the thermostat? I was planning on buying some 4 or 5 wire 18ga for the Heat Pump and a 8 wire for the Air Handler. This will connect to a currently running Ecobee.
So basically is it fine as a hard wired setup to the thermostat, Heat Pump and the Air Handler or do I still need the HI-151 Coolcloud Shared Data Loader to communicate to the iPhone if my system is the communication version from the factory? AVPTC and GSCZ (16 SEER) ordered and should be here April 4, 2021.

Shared data loader is not needed with cool cloud communicating products, with the exception of a bluetooth failure. The thermostat will be a one heat one cool conventional system, do not use a heat pump thermostat, 5 wires (common included) is all you need to thermostat and with a communicating outdoor system you need 2 wires (so 5 to stat and 2 to GSCZ). Change the ecobee settings to be 1 heat 1 cool conventional. The algorithms in the CFS of the Goodman will chose between heatpump and stages of electric heat all from the 24v signal on W. The stages of cooling will be handled in the same manner on the Y. The only settings you need to make are the ETF to set the electric heat size and then optional items such as lockout temps, stages of back up during defrost etc . All those can be done by your phone on the Cool cloud app.

What if you can’t find your model number on the shared data.

      go to mobile.goodmanmfg.com/mobileapp/index.jsp
type in serial number to get correct model. ADVC is not a correct model, I would guess its AMVC but the link will tell you. Type it in under warranty tab.

Kinda sucks Goodman makes you program the board and make you buy the chip

All my stores have a chip loaner, ask the store you work with if they do.

The only HVAC control that allows firmware upgrade via mobile phone so far, that I know of anyway.

@@johnstonecg My installer friend said to stay away from anything above a barebones setup but I have my head in this game and I feel I can keep an eye on it as I am adding whole house SPDs and putting the air handler in a easy to get to spot.
