- In this video I install and review the CARabc true plug and play adapter for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This is on a 2018 Toyota Tacoma and should fit all 2016-2019 models that didn't come standard with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
Here is the Amazon Affiliate link to the adapter:

Thanks for watching! The link to the CARabc adapter is in the description.
Thank you for making this video. Ever since I got my truck in 2019 I’ve wanted to install CarPlay without replacing the whole head unit and this seems to be what I’ve been looking for.
Thanks for sharing
Yeah, just remove your vehicle's bluetooth connection and use CarPlay for your calls, you can still use your vehicle's microphone to make calls.
I retrofitted CarPlay to my 2011 Honda Pilot, i don't use the Pilot's bluetooth at all, especially since its can't do music over bluetooth.
I tried this; works but factory screen is too pixelated
Does it work for the 2018 models without JBL?
I think. But I’d refer to the link and the description just in case.
You didn’t have sound coming out , because you were not in aux, you have to be in aux for audio in order for music to play
The issue I had to was due to the Bluetooth connection being used by the Tacoma’s factory system. At least that is what the manufacturer told me.
hi, i like this one, how can I buy it?
There’s a link in the description.
Is it gonna work on 2012 Tacoma?
How does the quality of the screen look after having it in for a while
I have one the quality is 780p
I just installed mine, the quality looks pretty bad. As far as i can tell, setting the brightness and contract in the Entune settings for the Camera is actually what changes the Android Auto/CarPlay screen display. So this must be hijacking that signal. So the limitations would be based on the quality that the Entune screen uses for the backup camera. Its a little blurry, but if in the end you want all the android and iphone abilities, it might be worth the crappy screen quality.
