The wheel chair thing: Not everybody using a wheel chair is completely unable to walk/stand, they may just need the use of a wheel chair to get through their day without being exhausted or floored by pain, to go more than a few steps, or to go at a speed that is practical. The boxer in the wheel chair may have enough leg and back ability to do what he did, but not to stand up for a whole match, for example.
Yeah that kind of things keeps popping in meme compilations but being disabled is a spectrum u_U
Or you have completely abled people doing it. My brother played wheelchair basketball for years, he is able bodied. He and his best friend played togehter, best friend injured his knee (didnt wana play anymore afraid to injure again) and somehow started playing in a wheelchair team. Brother joined for a session, liked it, they invited him to play and they were playing for years. I've been to matches, he wasnt the only one walking around.

I was looking for this message because it's incredibly important that people understand this.
I know a lot of people (mostly MS patients I met at rehab) who are not able to walk long distances or very fast and whose abilities to walk on a day to day basis.
It's hard for them to be in public in a wheelchair and then stand up and fold it to give other people more room (in a crowded bus) or sit with others in a restaurant or cinema because people judge them and stare/comment.

6:28 That’s a “dirt bubble” which is similar to a “grass bubble”. They're called lawn blisters or grass waterbeds, and they occur when water builds up beneath the surface of the grass. It creates a phenomenon where the grass acts much like a waterbed as the water trapped beneath causes the surface to jiggle around. Since that is just dirt and there aren’t any roots to hold it in place; it builds up but still cracks - therefor releasing some of the built up water, after a certain point.

the wheelchair boxing: very likely that it was something like the Warrior games where disabled vets play different games against each other but some disabilities present differently so some things need to change to make play fair (amputated leg, possible heart condition, etc. so everyone in that division plays in wheelchairs). but when someone falls, others who can walk, help them up because it's the right thing to do (i've seen it happen during wheelchair basketball, both teams stop to help the person that fell over if they can't get themself up on their own).

For the geology: there is a mineral called anhydrite (CaSO4) which, when it comes into contact with water gets turned into gypsum (CaSO4+2H2O) , the large amount of water seen in the formular results in an increase of volume by up to 60% , , , but that usually takes decades or even centuries

Not a dirt scientists but I'm pretty sure the rising dirt is due to there being air trapped underground. As the water goes over it the pressure difference increases causing the air to want to escape. Eventually the pressure gets high enough to push the ground up untill the air can escape or the air pocket is above the water returning the pressure difference to roughly equal
Ah... so like the earth having a huge flatulent. Makes sense. (Obviously over simplified.)
yeah i agree. thats how our roads float up in maine sometimes too.
There are also some kind of layers (of earth) that expand when they come in contact with water, but I'm not sure what they're called. All I can think of is cement, but that sounds wrong ... (sorry, English isn't my first language, also not an expert either, just something I heard in school)

Do people not know that some wheelchair users can walk to some degree? Like... my grandpa can stand and walk for about 1 minute before his legs collapse under him. 3:50 a common misconception is that people in wheelchairs are wheelchair bound. That's not always the case. Sometimes it's that they can use their legs, but not for long periods of time.
The wheelchair in this case is like a cane, assisting them with mobility so they aren't hindered by whatever is causing their disabilty.

Fun fact! Most people who use wheelchairs day to day can generally stand for short periods & maybe walk a bit - referred to as "ambulatory" wheelchair users. Being in a wheelchair doesn't mean you're dead from the waist down, it could just mean they know they can't walk that big a distance and want to avoid the pain & exhaustion that comes from standing & walking for long periods.
Similarly, most people who have a visual impairment often have some vision, even if it's just perception of light, which is why at the Paralympics the visual impairment classes require blindfolds to make it a level playing field.
4:15 not everybody in a wheelchair is completely incapable of walking or standing. there's many people who just can't walk or stand for very long without great amounts of pain or exhausting themselves, or any other variety of reasons that make standing for prolonged periods of time difficult

Am a geologist and I have no freeking clue what that rising landmass was. Probably has to do with groundwater or gas pressure, but heck that was weird. Like a reverse sinkhole.
I was hoping someone knew. Maybe reddit knew. If I find an answer I'll let you know.
Edit: it was in India and current theory is methane trapped underground.
My guess would be that there is a clay layer close to the surface, the flooding caused the water table to rise rapidly and the flow couldn't go anywhere so an underground watercourse built up enough pressure to blow out the ground above it with the clay forming a giant bubble. That or its the clay cap of an old landfill site and the same thing is happening, water from the flooding rushes in and trapped decomposition gases that are usually vented slowly are compressed until the pressure causes the cap to bulge out along a weaker area like a giant fart in a bath, altogether more likely because of how poorly regulated waste disposal is in India. They probably just capped off the pit to the bare minimum level when it was full instead of installing the proper gas venting systems and a thick enough capping layer

My first thought is buoyancy displacement (the water soaking into the 'soils' causing air to rise and pocket beneath less permeable material, thus causing uplift) but I'm not sure. I'm going to have to research more. 🤓
Edit: As suspected the current theory is that it was gas or water forming a bubble/balloon beneath an impermeable layer (probably silty-clay). I have not found a definitive study on this particular event that took place in Haryana, India but things like swelling soils/clays or dissolution can probably be ruled out due to the speed of expansion. Media reports suggest methane, which is possible, and don't mention any human activities nearby, like tunnelling, that could be responsible. I go with natural fluid injection (be it gas or water) causing rapid inflation. 👍

There's an entire subculture around them (they're called reborn as they says at the beginning of the clip).

I personally love reborns. Usually they're made for people who have lost babies and want a doll made similar to their lost child. I always see people saying things like 'ew, what is that', especially at ones with physical differences e.g. less limbs, multiple heads, etc., and it really hurts to know that someone can find an actual human's dead baby gross just because it was born differently. It's nice to see someone who appreciates the work that goes into these, and doesn't just judge people for owning one.
