@@ttmuh I don’t believe it but its not impossible. I’ve put on roughly 10 lbs of muscle in the past year eating one meal a day. Still hit all my macros and reach 3500 calories. So it is possible just not feasible for most people

Had a friend, straight athletic freak in high school. Many baseball minor league offers after high school. 6’5” 220 solid muscle. My guy lived off sugary cereal and ramen. Built different.
Was his name Kali muscle. Lol
Genetics are wild. Remember a guy with me in the Marines. He worked out 3 times a week and ate nothing but McDonald's. He was jacked and strong as hell
Our star running back in high school showed up to lift maybe a dozen times over the course of 4 years and had a 450 lbs squat his senior year

Pre-Draft he had a personal chef with a structured diet plan consisting of 6 meals a day. DK himself also enjoys cooking and wants to open a restaurant post-NFL. He did not eat like this to get to this point, he’s able to get away with it now because of the work he put in previously. Maintaining muscle is MUCH easier than building

@T M we have no idea how much protein he’s eating. If he said he’s eating no protein it’d be a glaring lie, but eating protein all at once is fine to maintain. Sub-optimal sure, but it works. It’s calories in vs calories out with ample protein. For muscle building rationing protein synthesis is optimal for sure, thus my comment stating he ate 6 timed out meals a day to build muscle
@Gainz All Day maybe, I like Derek from more plates more dates’ take, that he could’ve blasted his red shirt year at college and then maintained it out from there. I’m not saying he isn’t natural myself, but I wouldn’t be shocked at all to find out he blasted in the past
I’d also argue breaking a fast with any carbs is suboptimal as well. you’re going to have an increase in insulin sensitivity anyways. I usually go with high protein and fats to break my fast, work out, have some dextrose and creatine after workout, and then regular meals. But sub-optimal doesn’t mean impossible. It’s all very nuanced and unique
One meal a day is very healthy if you do it right. Intermittent fasting has changed my life. I lost 100 pounds eating steaks and burgers.
So did I. It’s more about caloric intake vs output. One high protein meal and as long as you output more calories than you take in and you are good. Nfl players have a huge output. Jj watt was on a 10k calorie diet due to what he put out.
Yea but dk is trying to maintain/build muscle, not lose fat.
I somehow lost 30lbs eating McDonald’s quite often but I also was walking and sweating more. This was in a very hot country.
He might do it for a month but not during football season
I've done it in the past. The only challenge was being able to eat all of the necessary calories in my four hour window.
And only 2 needles of juice a day. 🤣

He did an interview a few years back during combine time and gave a detailed overview of his diet / workout plan. The guy was eating early and often - and his diet consisted mostly of lean proteins (chicken and steak) and a ton of vegetables. There’s no magic behind it, genetic freak or not it takes a lot of damn work to get there. I’d recommend watching More Plates More Dates’s breakdown of DK’s claim, he explains it in greater detail.

@@SellsZac - I train at Tyron Woodleys mma and fitness in st Louis , I'm not a feminine internet camo man hiding from his sexuality in a tree stand. You need to eat a certain amount of calories per day to keep your weight on - if you're 150 pounds then I understand not being concerned or aware of what it takes to build and maintain the muscle you've built

I usually eat one meal a day also. Just not that hungry. Caffeine in the morning, eat around lunch time then I’m pretty set for the day.

I think this just shines a light on the fact that once you have achieve a physical shape, it's much much easier to maintain, than it is to get to that point.

i have that same diet minus the coffee. i don't have a 6 pack but im not overweight. i used to work out more than i have the last 2 years but i haven't gained weight...im a month from 39. 5' 9" 160lbs and i eat starburst for dinner if i dont have Swedish fish...my favorite kind of seafood

Frist dude is in his 20's second he is in the top 1% genetically third on the gear. As a cyclist when I was in my 20's I started the season at 180 and end somewhere around 150 to 155. I couldn't eat enough.

Most 20 years olds eat that amount of sugar , and add 2 more meals to go with it, without the working out . If you have a sugar drink and dessert most days , you are exceeding the candy sugar , again ; with more carbs and sugar in the other full meals they have
I would say during the season, you could eat a lot more.
