Pat out here letting the world know that the people that have cooked for him in the past are just terrible cooks.
for real
Sounds like he’s never heard of seasoning🤣
@@Cheezkrispies131 salt and pepper at best
mashed pos r king
I saw him post a damn boxed stove top stuffing box on his story just now 😂
This is really exposing how bad the cooks are in his life that he hates these things🤣
@Big Daddy Rikka based off his descriptions they are all unseasoned lol
@Big Daddy Rikka because he's had terrible cooks. That's usually why people don't like things my dude. Cause the person who made it for them sucked at it.
Only ppl ik who hate mashed potatoes are the ones who care about texture, never a flavor problem
@@chykomoney1085 Yeah no seasoning required for mashed potatoes, it slaps no matter if it’s completely plain or not lmao
@@pebble312 butter with some black pepper 🤌🤌🤌
Someone needs to introduce the McAfee family to a spice rack
yeah like has this guy never had some garlic mash potatoes?
or whipped with butter and dill?
or just slathered in gravy and salt+pepper?
like come on
And garlic apparently
Even just butter whipped in there simply seasoned with salt and pepper. That's just the basic recipe right there
Or simply using chicken stock as part of the base instead of water and that stuff is golden.
facts, cranberry sauce (non canned) is also delicious
Pat you are absolutely off your dahm rocker with the mashed potatoes take. Mashed potatoes and gravy is GOT DAHM WONDERFUL
Lmao right, you don’t just make mashed potatoes by smashing them up 😂
Mashed potatoes is one the reason I came to AMERICA
@@ahamed4152 🤣😂 pretty good huh?
Don't think I can ever take pat seriously ever again after this take
@@ahamed4152 god bless
SOMEONE GET PAT SOME DECENT MASHED POTATOES
I'll contact Bob Evans.

Good to know Pat is an absolute BUFOON with the potato take!
Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Pat you're just flat out wrong on the mashed potatoes. Sorry man, still much love
Pat's only had Mashed Potatoes made with potatoes, milk, and a pinch of salt. I PROMISE YOU hahaha
And the cheap ass brown ones that are watery as hell. Get this man some red mashed potatoes with the skin in them
Tbh sounds like he's only had instant 'mashed piotatoes'. Those are bad.
Garlic is a necessity to mashed potatoes.
@@That0neChanne1 ew why do people like the skin in there mashed potatoes
Throw some cream cheese in the potatoes with some seasoning
Finally! Talking about something that a sports show should talk about!
😂
Hey you listen here, food is an important part of watching sports

As a recap for those who weren’t able to see the live chat for this… Pat had a full war on his hands after 4:25 😅
I was there! Chat was going crazy lol
Stovetop potatoes are not good you need to make them from scratch.
Obviously has no idea how steak fries are made 🤣😂
@@DDG683 injected with mashed potatoes 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love taters and gravy but I love food rants of all kinds, specially from Pat McAfee.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
As an avid gardener, I’ve never been so bothered about a conversation on squash. Wait until they find out that pumpkin is a squash.
Wait what?!
@@wilcee238 Yup. And sweet potatoes are actually related to morning glories, while regular potatoes are part of the nightshade family, along with tomatoes, peppers, and goji berries.
This is why you can eat sweet potato vines, but regular potato vines are toxic.
Also, true yams are part of a completely different family from both of them called dioscoria. They actually taste more like regular potatoes, even though sweet potatoes are sometimes marketed as yams.
@@wilcee238 as someone with a degree in botany (though it was my minor, my specialty was in botanical ecology), I can confirm: Mr. Davis is correct.
Actually, truth be told, everything he mentions is completely correct (always nice to see on a comment thread)!
To add, watermelons are actually more closely related to cucumbers, than most mellons. And is, in actuality, a berry. A strawberry, is in actuality, NOT a berry. But, know what IS a melon? Pineapple.
Cucumbers, zucchini, most peas, string beans, and okrah are all fruit.
Cantaloupes are, technically, a vegetable...
Up is down, cats and dogs often get along, Jets and Giants are winners, and Green Bay will almost certainly miss the playoffs. No Eastern Conference team has a losing record. Seattle is better without Chef Russ, Carolina is better without C-Mac (wins wise), and Chicago has a high scoring team that couldn't stop several D-1 programs.
The end is nigh.
😏
I think he’s talking about mashed rutabagas, one of my faves!
@@rolmodel12. thanks for sharing, this is very interesting!
Someone help Pat, someone's been feeding him that Clark Griswold turkey every year of his life!
🤣🤣
Right on white meat.
Wrong on mashed taters.
Mashed potatoes made with lots of butter, cream, salt, and pepper, then baked to get a crispy top are TOP NOTCH. Pat, you can afford to eat food that is prepared well. Try some.
I was a chef for 8 years and I am so triggered 😂
The Brett Favre bit stealing the cranberry sauce the night before was golden 😂
Mashed potatoes take aside, this is one of the funniest segments ever. 😂
Stephen A Smith of Thanksgiving takes
Key for delicious white meat is letting the Turkey rest after cooking. If you slice it too early it will dry out.
True. A convection oven will cook the turkey evenly and you do not have to baste. Once the skin browns, you are good to go! DO NOT keep opening the oven!
Pat destroying his career on this hill he will never recover!
“No offense to whoever cooked those turkeys” 😂
Damn, Pat truly has never had a good, well made Thanksgiving dinner
Plain mash potatoes can 100% be good… you just haven’t had good mash potatoes. (Of course “plain” as in adding butter, salt, pepper, just a lil bit of milk and then a pinch of sugar through the process of making the mash potatoes.)
That's why the good Lord created gravy dudes.....no white meat is dry with gravy.
Man bashing the potatos lol. I love mashed potatoes, just haven’t had some good mashed potatoes my guy 😂
Well made mashed potatoes n gravy are incredible 🤤
Lobster should be included with the Thanksgiving Meal from a historical standpoint. And it’s fun to have lobster if you’re not used to it.
Mashed potatoes are my most favorite side, and stuffing is my least 😂
Zack, you are a wise man.
Stuffing’s the best but it’s gotta be homemade stuffing, none of that garbage stovetop bullsh*t!
Stuffing right out of the bird is to die for
Sleeping on stuffing
Clearly haven't had good stuffing. Mine has a pound of ground beef and a pound of sausage in it.
Happy Thanksgiving Pat and congratulations to all your success.
My family has always done shredded turkey mixed with veggies and any stuffing for every thanksgiving. Plus if you eat it with any side, you can just scoop the whole thing together with the spoon/fork and you get the best flavor in the world. Only downside is that there is a 1% there can be a bone in there that has not been taking out. Otherwise good stuff.
Shredded turkey ?? your family should be in prison
Best Sides.
1: Mac & Cheese
2: Mac & Cheese
3: Dressing/Stuffing
Honorable Mention: sweet potatoes/yams, cranberry sauce, biscuits
God Bless Pat for being transparent enough to let us all know that he pretty much had subpar Thanksgiving cooking.
I'm pretty anti Mac and cheese for Thanksgiving. If you do some fancy ass version I would tolerate it. I think the spirit of the holiday is eating food that was harvested that year and pasta and cheese don't fit that criteria.
Pat should visit an African American household on Thanksgiving or Christmas. Would change his mind on alot of foods 😅
Or Hispanic I ain’t trying to sound racist but some white people just can’t cook to save their life
That’s true
@@hesomelo5910 Some of em. Not all. I DO know white people that can cook. But they also have cooked at restaurants so the experience is there.
@@SlicedBread1219 oh most definitely there’s plenty of white people who can cook but on the average nah
@@hesomelo5910I’ve never understood the “white people can’t cook or don’t season their food narrative” cause both sides of my family can cook really well. Specially on my moms side… but I think Pat here may have helped me finally understand where that might be coming from. Lol
man growing up with an italian mom that cooks great was such a blessing. glad i dont have these horrible food takes lmao
Chunky,Skin in Mash potatoes!!!! That's how we do it across the wall in TJ!!! That's a maaaaans Mash!!!!!
I stuff myself with a big Thanksgiving meal every single year!
Excuse me?🤔
I'm about the ham, that cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes drizzled with gravy. So I agree with half of what he said. Love caramel apple pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Happy Thanksgiving!
I really feel sorry for Pat dude sounds like he's had horrible food his whole life and especially around the holiday!
Unless you get Libby’s pumpkin pie filling I believe your pumpkin pie is actually a squash pie. Libby’s use a pumpkin that looks like a squash but is still called a pumpkin.
How are you so rich and have never had a juicy bird? That's the insane part. That being said, a decent ham blows a great turkey out of the water.
Couldn't agree more
The thing is, white and dark meat are best at different temperatures. I prefer dark meat because you can’t overlook it, and it actually tastes better when cooked at higher temperatures. White meat is pretty easily overcooked, especially if you’re only cooking turkey once a year.
Butter, garlic mashed potatoes were pretty damn good. Toss on some mixed cheese and it's perfect.
Add some good parmesan cheese and you don't need gravy!
I will say this, as someone who absolutely loves mash potatoes. I'd prefer fries or a baked potato if I could only choose one form. Mash is harder to prepare and requires a lot more effort.
cleaning is a B too, if you use a blender.
@@megatran2556 gotta use a potato masher to keep it nice and chunky
I love mashed potatoes, and mine are delicious, but honestly he's kinda right. Hash browns, fries, roasted potatoes, steamed buttery potatoes... there's lots of better ways to eat them.
Literally my two favorite things on thanksgiving. Mashed with gravy, and breast.
"Chinese food........American" I died... lol
Stove Top and Ocean Spray Cranberry Sauce in the can are a must
This year, tomahawk ribeyes are on the menu!
Y’all need a clips channel!! As a Canadian not a big NFL guy but you guys are on the same level as Inside The NBA for me. Top notch👌🏿
Pennsylvania Turkeys comment had me weak. 😂
Best segment of the week so far.
I straight up would eat the most bland mashed potatoes with no gravy on thanksgiving if I had to. Absolutely a top 3 thanksgiving dish imo.
I live in Indiana. And my Girl makes the best mashed potatoes in the world. Hands down no doubt abaht it. Sourcream, cream cheese, butter, salt and pepper. Fuggett abaht itttttttttt
All you need to add for delicious side of mashed taters is milk, butter, salt and pepper. That’s it and it’s delicious. Feel like Pat’s experience has literally been limited to microwaved potatoes with the insides scraped out
You missed garlic chives and a dash of ranch
Dang Pat! Mashed potatoes and gravy are a must!
Here in the South, we use those leftover mashed potatoes to make potato cakes. Yummb so good!
Anyone else love potato cakes??
The disrespect on white meat and mashed potatoes is insane , my dad deepfrys and smokes one , you and the boys come over and tell me then you don’t like white meat 🤣
Gotta put a whole cube of butter and 2 large scoops of sour scream to make mashed potatoes good!
PAT EATS BOXED MASHED POTATOES LOL
I'm glad Ty was there to talk some sense into Pat, he's exactly right. Dry piece of white meat from Turkey is trash, but if cooked properly, a moist piece of white meat is almost as good as the dark meat.
Hot take: I'd take the driest oldest hay-like piece of white meat ANY DAY over ham.
14:44 Squash LOL
You also gotta pour gravy all over the Turkey and tatters… specially add lots of gravy on your stuffing/dressing too.
Oreo pie & pumpkin pie are my favorite Thanksgiving food. Can't forget the nice warm soft buns 😉
Thanksgiving food? You just said a couple of desserts ?
"A meatball sub with Mash Potatoes on it"
Hahaha freaking great!
Always spot on analysis. Good job guys.
Pat needs a decent cook in his life 😆
brine it overnight in a bucket of cold water (leave in the fridge or garage) with 1.5 cups of sugar and salt, lemons and thyme and the white meat is great.
Mashed potatoes
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Salt…in excess
Pepper
Parsley
Stick uh butta
Milk
Cream cheese
Shredded cheese
Cmonnnnnn
This is why I love Pat he is just hilarious 😂
It's all about that canned Oceanspray cranberry sauce haha! Top Tier
FACTS
14:58 peanut squash and acorn squash I have had both on Thanksgiving..grew up in Fl.
I have bee ride or die on the McAfee broadcast for YEARS. Buddy can kick rocks on the mashed potatoes slander.
Pat with this potato argument has to be the worst argument ever online to even debate lol 😆
hash brown casserole, Mac and cheese, stuffing, ham. that's all you need.
I think it depends on the types of potatoes you use for them. I've had delicious and I've had terrible
Man has never had good Turkey and potatoes in his life.
This is so funny my whole family felt the same way and then we started cooking the turkey upside down when you cook the turkey breast down it’s the same as the dark meat just in reverse that’s why the dark meat to so tender it’s farther away from the heat it bakes in the juice so just a little heads up get you a really deep pan and cook it upside down and put a cube of butter in there and you’ll have the best soft moist white meat ever
If you can find a good homemade cranberry sauce it becomes the best thing at thanksgiving. My great grandma made a cranberry sauce I would die for
I know it's crazy.... but I love the canned jelly more than fresh. And yes I have had a great fresh sauce
Mashed potatoes are one of my favorites at Thanksgiving lol, everyone has their own opinions tho
Simple. Let the turkey rest as long as it baked. 3 hours in oven, let it rest for 2 hours min, to reassorb the juices.
Sour cream. Butter. Salt. Best mashed potato’s. Throw some corn on top. Or under some chicken and noodles and you are in heaven.
Ty right about turkey being moist, I go to many different places and hate their turkey, then I turn people onto our turkey and brown Suger glazed ham and they can't believe how moist and great it is. I invite people to Thanksgiving just hoping others learn a thing or two about good food. 😆
Happy 🦃 day all you Dawgs!!!! ❤️
Lmao, I was totally thinking of a meatball sub with mashed potatoes and gravy squeezed in.
Hey Pat, there's a not so old man in South Carolina that'll cook a turkey for ya that'll change your life hahaha my Old Man is the only person Ive known that cooks a damn good bird
Best sides is collard greens
You guys gotta head down south for Thanksgiving, you've been lied to all your lives lol
Pat just haven’t had great mash tatters before. Down here in Nevada, my moms makes the best mash tatters I can’t eat thanksgiving without it.😂
“Squash…. You mean squash, you’re eating squash” had me going
Homemade cranberry sauce on the white meat is delicious
Pat is right, mashed is the worst kind of potatoes.
Pats wrong here on the potatoes. Some times they're the best part. They're a vehicle for all the gravy, butter, corn. Who just eats plain ass potatoes
I ain’t celebrating thanksgiving in this economy lmao
Who here thinks Pat's family are bad cooks? 😂
Seriously mashed potatoes are at the top of the best way to eat the spuds.
I Harry Potter this with, "RIDICULOUS" 🧙🏼♂️
Mashed potatoes > stuffing and its not even close
Always have left over white meat moist ….. u lift the skin and stuff a bunch of butter under the skin , mix with season and stufff and prsss with skin . Comes out amazing
Boys… do yourself a favor and once you find yourselves some prepped and flavored mashed potatoes and food, throw a little cranberry sauce onto a bite with everything else on it. Its a game changer. Didn’t think that way until a couple years ago, but it is by far the best thing on the plate. It can enhance any bite
cranberry jello salad is the single greatest food stuff ever created. i will die on this hill.
Pat out here with the correctest Thanksgiving opinions of all time
Ditch the turkey for brisket or steak.
Something I learned today is that dark meat cooks slower, so by the time it’s ready on a turkey the white meat has been overcooked and is dry. 40 years I’ve been suffering without this knowledge…
It would be hilarious if for the rest of his public appearances there is a catered tub of mashed potatoes and gravy at every set waiting for him. Brought in from a local restaurant known for their mashed potatoes just for him.
Chuck in a meatball sub and pay would be hating life haha.
I know what you guys are saying, and for the most part it's true, but you can improve your odds by getting free range turkey, (not the steroid injected crap), their white meat is already a little darker than traditional turkeys. Also, cook it with the lid on and only pull lid off for last 15-20 minutes to crisp the skin. Also need to cook it low and slow, and most people I know use a runny watery gravy, (you can thicken it after), and you need to baste the turkey often during cooking process. Stuffing the turkey with certain ingredients helps keep it moist. We usually add a little beer or wine as well to the sauce/gravy/baste. We also add a lot of spices and onions diced up, etc., to the baste. makes a difference.
As for stuffing, while I like stove top, if you get some from people that know how to make a good home-made stuffing is the best. And yes, agree about mashed potatoes, make roasted potatoes with your turkey since you're already roasting it. I am not a ham fan, but the rest of my family is. Cranberry sauce, one side of family doesn't bother, other side usually forgot to bring it to the table, lmao.
