      Hi Pauline! I might have the same treatment soon, since you had it such a long time ago. Did they tell anything about radioactive iodine and fertility? Did you have any problems regarding this topic later on?

    This was such a relief to watch. I am in the US and I am starting my treatment this week. I’ve searched for videos like this for reassurance.you have eased my nerves greatly. I’ve only found doctors talking about this procedure and it’s just not the same as a true patient. I will not be in the hospital for my isolation, but will be isolated at home. I pray you are still doing well. Thanks again for sharing!

    I am going to hospital tomorrow for this treatment! Thank you so much for this video cause now I know what to expect! Also, did you have to put anything around your phone or computer because of radiation? Was there any procedure regarding that? :)

    • @eleanorlakin6953
      @eleanorlakin6953  Před 3 lety +7

      Good luck for your treatment! Just think of it as crossing the finish line and you’ll be free as soon as you leave! 💓 It was recommended that I put an old case over my phone and then I was able to throw it away before I left. I also just made sure that I wiped my laptop down after I used it. I was told that the radiation comes out in in sweat so you don’t pass on much through your finger tips! If you have anymore questions please don’t hesitate to send me a message on insta ☺️xxx

    I get my 1st Thyrogen injection today, 2nd tomorrow and I'll also be admitted then ready for my treatment on Wednesday. Anything I take in with me wont be coming back out with me, clothes, toiletries, magazines etc will get destroyed. Im only allowed my phone and a charger which they'll cover in plastic, so I can take that home, but no laptop or anything is allowed. Im in from 12-18th, im dreading the boredom xx

      @eleanorlakin6953  Před 3 lety +4

      Hi Karen, good luck with your treatment! I was super anxious beforehand because I really didn’t know what to expect however everything was a lot more simple than I thought. I wasn’t allowed to leave the hospital until I was safe enough to be in the house with my family and I was fortunate enough to use a separate bathroom and stayed in my bedroom for most of the time. If you keep your distance you will be fine! If you have any questions I’m here to help! 💗 xxx

    This is something I might have to have , how is it possible to keep away from your family when you all. Live in the same small house this is what worry’s me and do you know what happens to others you are in contact for it to be so dangerous thanks for this video so helpful hope you are feeling better now

    • @eleanorlakin6953
      @eleanorlakin6953  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi! It was actually quite easy! They didn’t let me out of hospital until my radiation levels were safe enough to be around. They check your levels regularly throughout the day to make sure. Once I was out of hospital I just had to make sure I cleaned down the shower after using it and clean cutlery and kitchen utensils after cooking. I was given a booklet telling me all the information beforehand that covered everything but if you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to message me on insta as it is very overwhelming! Good luck! 💓 xx

    Thank you, even though this is 3 years ago, I'm wondering now in 2023 do they still keep you in the hospital during your radiation treatment isolation, because I heard you have to be at home. I'm just wondering if they go through so many precautions at the hospital in your room, how in the world would anyone be able to do this at home? I was just diagnosed with a positive result for thyroid cancer and my consultation is in a couple weeks with the surgeon, I'm totally freaking out! 🫣😱🥺
