What a beautiful build. Is that a real Le Rhone engine? What airfoil?

Exact copy build. Its a real Le Rhone engine yes. Airfoil is the (very bad one if to say) original one from Bleriot

It is built in Austria at Craftlab on original plans from Bleriot

@@AcrodesignerLNSNI Thanks for the prompt reply. Do you know where I may get CAD drawing of the original Bleriot plans? Thanks a bunch from Texas! I'm in awe of the beautiful craftsmanship. I built a 75% scale Early Bird Jenny 25 years ago, but it pales in comparison to your a/c! Cheers!

@@SooperToober Contact Craftlab. They got all the details. I only swing the propeller on the damn thing and try to survive or save my arm

Wow, what a beuaty, what an opportunity! Is that an aft whell or a kind of an automatic brake?

Stefan, the tail skid is original just the U bend bamboo thing. Some flexibility but mostly as much friction drag as possible to keep the tail straight in the initial takeoff run and the last part of landing rollout. In this flight some cut rubber tire pieces have been attached on the tailskid to increase friction and to avoid wear on the original bamboo skid

What is the maximum speed your Bleriot XI-2 can reach?

Actually a horribel flying machine in terms of handling. Probably only due to the very good pilots skill of pilot Øyvind Munch Ellingsen that we it got safely down on the ground. He is a 737 captain and experienced taildragger vintage pilot but this very old design really got our skills to the test. It is a bad airpane design in many ways. Miracle that it flew over the North Sea from Scottland to Jæren in Norway before WW1.
