Hanggliding in Vågå Norway , June 24, 2024. This far North at soltice the sun never go down. It is possible to fly at midnight in the high mountains. The heat accumulated in woods and terrain during daytime create soft convergence and thermic lift in the middle of the valley.

Emergency procedure for hangglider. Rapid correction of unwanted turn. Pull control bar corner forcefully towards hip. When glider responds, release to neutral control input. Manouver will increase airspeed, force sailshift and initiate reversal turn usually caused by low airspeed or asymmetric factors like cross wind or tipstall.

Hi Reidar Bernsten, Thank you for your videos they are so helpful. i had a doubt... in DCDC converter how come the DC bus voltage reached to 680Vdc ? with Source Nominal voltage of 610V ? note.1: even tough with 101% & 104% of Over voltage & under voltage controller, it should bounce between 616 (610*101%) & 634 (610*104%) note.2: in the DCDC converter manual, it is mentioned that "ID1462; Voltage reference in percentage of Source Nom Voltage." means in your case it is 90%, Source nom, voltage is 610, so your BUS voltage should reach 549. kindly Can you please explain that ? Thank you

@@ericoschmitt Thanks 😎. Not in Vågå I think. In Vågå there is regular thermals in daytime. Then a slow condition in the evening which when closing to midnight the convergence lift can start pumping in mid valley. Transition in evening you will bomb out I think. However, in Bodø at Keiservarden when NW prevailing wind then can «easily» fly 24 hours in midnight sun. It has been done but is not recommendable as some french pilot fell asleep while airborn when trying to do that. Some paraglider tandems have done some crazy hours there but that is with 2 man crew 🤗😂

Was the other pilot ok? He flared little bit early.
Yes, he was OK but one upright on the glider got bent. I think he got disturbed in the landing flare by looking to the side for the tandem. Lots of space between.

Nice video! I have to say, I am not a big fan of drag chutes when landing with a fun-glider, as there is not much flare-window anyway....
Drag chute on a Piuma is still a super easy landing. Flare window is big.

Thanks Geoff 😊. Flying my home town small hills with top modern hanggliders brings back the beginning of the sport were it all begun in 1982 flying this hills after school time. I was 15 years old and flew hangglider after knowing the lift there from flying RC model sailplanes. Now 57 years young and 3k flying hours later it is a very nice place to revisit with my friends. Music choice is piano from tv series bcs blue bird there Yngvar plays piano 😊

Hi @Reidar Berntsen, Thankyou so much for your detailed explanation. I had a doubt. 1. At 4:22 , i was wondering from where does the 537V was presented on the DC bus ? since the Motr/Generator application is not running, AC Grid is offline, Battery bank is also not activated yet... 2. How does the voltage is boosted from Input of drive to output of drive for a PM machine ? is there any formula for that ? Thanking you again

Exact copy build. Its a real Le Rhone engine yes. Airfoil is the (very bad one if to say) original one from Bleriot

Hi Reidar big fan of your ehelp. I am interested in making one of your ehelp type project for my WW Falcon 195. I am going to buy MAD M40 motor propeller size 47x13 size, recommended in their website Which is for paramotor. Is it appropriate or should I go for a lower power motor. Example MAD V128 50KV Propeller size 40x13.1 glossy??? In the website it's recommeded to use a 40x13.1 inch propeller then what goes wrong if use a 34"x14 inch propeller. does it damage the motor?? Any other disadvantage ? Do you recommend to use folding propeller to avoid windmill problem ??? How much thrust force kg needed to takeoff a WW Falcon 195 and 80kg pilot required?? From zero wind flatland takeoff for example? ( please recommend to me which model of MAD motor, esc, propeller and battery pack to use if I want to launch from flat land WW Falcon 195. 80kg pilot) i am just confused by the market availability and what is best. That will make flying Fun. When choosing motor from MAD how much power KW and recommended hover thrust Is 15 KW and 20kgf hover thrust enough? Thanks alot
