      APOCALYPSE NOW IS NOT WELL RECEIVED WHEN IT PREMIERED.
      MEGALOPOLIS IS CINEMA OF THE FUTURE. WE NEED MATURITY TO UNDERSTAND IT, MAYBE NOT TODAY BUT IN THE COMING YEARS.
      WE CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHAT WE DO NOT KNOW. AND CINEMA IS SOMETHING THAT WE DO NOT NEED TO UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING.
      WE JUST NEED TO FEEL IT.

    It’s interesting, I’ve been reading all the critics’ reactions on twitter and critics for outlets like Indiewire, Little White Lies and Vulture and they all lean positive, with an emphasis on how much it’s difficult to condense their feelings of the film into a brief review, which to me suggests that the film is thematically layered and artistically rich

    • @WillScarbroughYT
      @WillScarbroughYT  Před 27 dny +3

      It seems like a deeply “rich” and “big” film with a lot to unpack, it wouldn’t surprise me if the film got better with rewatch

    I think the audience’s perception’s been compromised after 15 years of Marvel Cinematic sludge… And after 40 years someone with a risky vision for cinema appears and twitches the very fabric of the preconceptions… All the negativity makes me want to watch the film in the biggest screen possible

  • @The_Zilli
    @The_Zilli Před 27 dny +10

    Hollywood is trying to deep six the director, hence the negative reviews. You need to do a deeper dive on the history between the director and Hollywood to understand what's happening. Lets wait until we hear what the actual viewing public thinks.

      What is your evidence that they are trying to do him in? He did just have about as big a premiere as can be had at Cannes... I'm sure if the studios think it can do well, they'll get it distribution. The question is... can it do well?

    • @The_Zilli
      @The_Zilli Před 27 dny

      @@SuperRobertoClemente There's another vid that I watched that went into more detail about recent Hollywood press publications trying to smear him but oddly not coming up in my YT search history - so if i come across that again Ill add it here. But in the meantime a vid from CineRanker briefly touches on Ford's troubled relationship with Hollywood and how the release of this movie was a big middle finger to the studios. czcams.com/video/z4i0bBMQvrY/video.html He's personally financing this and doing things his own way plus he has actors in the movie that Hollywood is trying to actively blacklist due to their Christian/Republican values. Hollywood doesn't care about making money, if they did, Disney wouldnt be pumping out woke marxist propaganda and Paramount wouldnt have run Trek and Halo into the ground with their stupidity and gone bankrupt in the process. Heck, even when MGM went into bankruptcy and emerged from it, they drank the Kool Aid, made a woke Bond flick and that resulted in the entire studio being sold to Amazon. You're right, it should be about the money and what tells a good story. But it's not and hasn't been for quite some time unfortunately. Cheers mate.

    Looks like the cinema mastermind himself have been kept in his dream for so long, and he tried to convey all the thoughts condensed for 40 years through a single movie, it became incomprehensible to vast majority of audience.

    George Miller is 80 years old making THE MOST high octane actions flicks ever. Kurosawa was in his late 70's when he made Ran. Coppola doesnt realize it, but the studios putting a leash on him in the 70's is the main reason his name is attached to classics. When Francis gets total control he bombs beyond belief. He owes his entire career to Gordon Willis.

    "Shia wears drag" okay.. and? That doesn't make it bad. A guy wearing what i assume is a dress isnt automatically bad. That review was Transphobic. Kilts exist, and it was illegal for women to wear pants for years. Soooooo, technically, every woman you know that wears pants, is actually crossdressing wearing drag.. but thatd be insane to hate women for wearing pants, right? Only one answer that..
