    Scott Feldman must have held the big hair title at KMBC while Larry Moore was in Chicago.

    A few years before Hearst owned KMBC. This was Metromedia's second station to be affiliated with one of the Big Three.

    Albeit at a very low pitch on KMBC's part. Saw vids of KGO News Scene taking it to the other extreme.

      WLS's pitch was almost reminiscent of, but very, very slightly below, KGO's, but higher than WABC's or WXYZ's.

    7:58 A highly miscast Jerry Bishop voices “The Lady Vanishes” trailer
    (I think the voice of the Braniff commercial is probably Doug Jeffers, but it’s a really out-of-character read for him.)

    • @andyrose5616
      @andyrose5616 Před 2 měsíci

      To be clear, the voice of the movie trailer was Jerry Bishop, the Los Angeles DJ who did a lot of NBC and Disney Channel promos. (At the time of his death, he was best known as the announcer for Judge Judy.) Not Jerry G. Bishop, the original Svengoolie… two different guys.

    The Andy Kaufman Special was one of the biggest debacles ABC ever put itself into. They didn't understand Andy's humor and the viewers didn't either. It was a ratings disaster.

      Wasn't that one of the reasons why CBS reclaimed the #1 network spot at season's end?

    • @StudioZ7
      @StudioZ7 Před 2 měsíci +2

      My understanding is the Kaufman special was originally made in 1977 but ABC shelved it until 1980 (if this is indeed the first showing). Regarding losing out to CBS for the number one position, a lot of that had to do with some really boneheaded schedule changes of ABC's hit programs the previous fall.
