The reason there is an animation for gacha games is to build suspense, and I think it actually causes people to spen more money on it. It's the same as slot machines the have flashing lights and noises when you spin to build suspense which is why they work so well. If it didn't affect their bottom line companies would probably not spend the effort to make flashy lights and loud sounds and slot machines would just instantly show if you won/lost as soon as you press the go button or pull the lever etc.

I like the concept of towers. It is something you climb through, reaching higher and higher levels that reflect how powerful you are. Leveling up can be seen as climbing a metaphorical tower as well. It is a nice concept.
yes in BDO there are a lots of quest that ask you to kill 500++ mobs, but you can clear this quest really fast, because in bdo the mob density isn't like in any other mmos, there are like 100 mobs standing close to each other. bdo mob density is like aprgs mob density. i prefer this kind of quest than generic fetch quest.

Final fantasy 14 just does everything in a special way. When I get on ff 14 I feel like I’m on another world and a real adventure witj great characters and amazing music. I play this game and can answer. No it's not, you can get from level 1 to 50 and max your character without paying and without grinding on a korean level. The only thing you'll need to pay for is cosmetics and those are the only thing that will be pricey to get, even the paid pass B-Imajinn will be available for free, and that already isn't even required to beat the whole game or get in the rankings (top ranks were people using low level B and E-Imajinns that gave you support skills like speed and stamina buff that works the same as the paid version, so you pay to lose)
@@Temperans -taking less damage is irrelevant for rankings and even outside of that too since taking damage by itself means being trash on a game that has slow enemies and signals of attacks everywhere, basically is p2w for boomers. -more stamina and more speed is only relevant for TA rankings and guess what? top rankers shared their video on youtube and they used a f2p B-Imajinn that does the same thing that B-Feste Beta does so what is your excuse? even the 2nd place of one the weapons was using a lv20 B-I. -Lastly even the B-Eilein Beta that is the attack one isn't the best either, the reason is because the Pale Guardian has +50 atk on his passive ability and that is B.I.S for every class while the second slot you'll have options that gives better ability multipliers for your class that none of the paid version offers.

Those prices will very likely go down in the west. Aside from the fact that 100 JPY = 1 USD hasn't been true for a while now (currently it's 144 JPY = 1 USD, so ~3.50$ per pull), prices for online currencies and goods have always been overly expensive in Japan compared to other countries. I'm not sure whether this is due to regulation or just companies being greedy, or maybe both, but either way it's likely going to be closer to 20-30€ per 10 pull for us if I had to guess.

7:27 so here is hands down the best augment in the game, essentially gives you a second primary gear slot, now go get to level 300 in every single useless tradeskill, than level them passed their max to 350 and make some mcguffins to get it, oh and this requires at least 3 months of a solid grind if you happen to have no wanted to do any of this tedious shit beforehand. I have no idea how you properly intergrate stuff like this into a game, but every implementation I have come across forces me to do shit I dont want to do, isnt fun, to progress. and at that point I just stop engageing with the games.
Ehh NGS has better action, satisfying counters, and x10,000 better cosmetics that are surprisingly less greedy. Can also just grind for your cosmetics by buying them from other players. And is finally starting to build up a mountain of content for a new player to do.

Hi level 50 in Twin Striker. Currently in-game min maxing my weapon for 4 slot and G3 Plug ins. Let me give you some insight about the Monetization. I will keep it short "it's P2W unfriendly" the enhancers you speak of are complete horseshiz and barely does any difference with f2p. They give such a really small boost to the point you can farm loot as f2p with the same amount of time with enhancer.. what's the point of them being in the shop if they are hard to get it with money and pointless af. the gacha system you speak of is mostly for cosmetics... actually the monetization is all about outfits. The B-Emajin that is level 50 are dog water and it sucks because it causes a false advertisement people thinking its the best if you buy it. F2P Level 45 B-Emajin Pale Light Guard and Strong Arm Conqueror are the BiS for all classes. For all P2W who loves to whale.. Sorry they also cap you how much you spend and your money is not worth for any enhancement... Only cosmetics. have a great day

I believe the differences between Blue Protocol and Hoyoverse Games are Lighting, Shading and Design of Clothing. Hoyoverse has slightly skimpy Outfit Designs. But the games are more "shiny" as well.
I would love to point out, I blame Ragnarok Online fame for the Endless Tower hype and addiction to go up on towers (that came from Mirage Tower from DS) on mmos and oh god, the memories of that random wipe and knowing you are locked out of repeating for a week, JRO top days were looking at hundreds of players on Alberta getting ready daily... and while pretty sure there is other games, Azure Sky tower from Boktai (2003) was hella fun and yeah pun intended for the people who know. (and while Pokemon R/B/E had a tower, no it doesn't compare mechanic wise)
Honestly the closest thing to purchasable cosmetics in an MMO I've been okay with is Guild Wars 2. And that's only because there's a ton of content for the game on the cheap. The expansions are like 30-40 USD with no subscription. And the "live service" maps/ story chapters are like 2 USD and not fomo.
Honestly I prefer mmos that don't take forever to hit level cap. I don't want to do 14+ hours of story, side quests, and grinding trash mobs. Raids and dungeon crawling is where all the fun is at.
As someone who played WoW for over 15 years, every time i hear someone talk about Blue Protocol, i feel like the scope of the game is to small. I don't think this will last long enough after launch. It probably will die off in a similar way like SWtOR (Star Wars MMO).

Something I noticed on the blue protocol subreddit was people complaining that they were "done with the game" so quickly (1-2 weeks after launch). And by "done" I mean max level and effectively full BiS (no money spent). I was genuinely thrilled to see this. Because something I feel many games are defaulting to these days are the "endless loot treadmill" where you have to play for hundreds of hours to feel like you're going anywhere. I miss when you could play a game for a few weeks and just be... done. And then the content of the game is centered around you actually wanting to play the game instead of being forced to do so with constant perpetual treadmill chores. No dailies/weekly quest bullshit? Awesome. Even pre-global people are full BiS in 1-2 weeks of no-life running the game? Great. I'll be there in a month probably. The gacha is basically purely cosmetic? (I imagine the outliers will be removed for global) Great. The list goes on but this is a genuine breath of fresh air to not have a game full of bullshit. I just wanna play the game, not chase the dragon for 100s of hours.
@@BladeDevil I think the time attacks are the big reason to get full bis and keep playing. The fact there's a leaderboard for it is great. You also have to level your other weapons. So each weapon you add on is another 2+ weeks. Personally I think the average player will take 1-2 months to "finish" their first weapon of choice and get bis. Also, I do fully expect we'll have an additional tier or two of content by the time we get to global, which is still like half a year away. Most people making these "complaints" played for 12+ hours a day for a week straight.

Man, I remember being hyped for this when I first saw footage a year or two ago. Now that hype is almost gone. I just can't feel excited over these mechanics and systems being shown here. Just a repetitive grind with no soul.
All these Asian mmo's start out relatively harmless and somewhat fun, but 2-3 years down the road and they become microtransaction hell holes with p2w pay-walls, content skipping items to instant results, as well as grinds that can last for days before seeing any incremental results if you don't rip your hair out and uninstall the game before that.
4% is godlike compared to other drops from other games. Take the ship drops in world of warships. Most of them are below 1%. And some even need you to pay real money to buy the lootboxes.

The only thing you'll need to pay for is cosmetics and those are the only thing that will be pricey to get, even the paid pass B-Imajinn will be available for free, and that already isn't even required to beat the whole game or get in the rankings (top ranks were people using low level B and E-Imajinns that gave you support skills like speed and stamina buff that works the same as the paid version, so you pay to lose)

-Lastly even the B-Eilein Beta that is the attack one isn't the best either, the reason is because the Pale Guardian has +50 atk on his passive ability and that is B.I.S for every class while the second slot you'll have options that gives better ability multipliers for your class that none of the paid version offers.

this remind me of WOW classic in a way, when I did class specific quest, I had to kill a demon in the big tree, to get his head, which hasn't dropped at all, after 10 times killing him ( he was a strong mob almost an elite) I just quit.

Those prices will very likely go down in the west. Aside from the fact that 100 JPY = 1 USD hasn't been true for a while now (currently it's 144 JPY = 1 USD, so ~3.50$ per pull), prices for online currencies and goods have always been overly expensive in Japan compared to other countries. I'm not sure whether this is due to regulation or just companies being greedy, or maybe both, but either way it's likely going to be closer to 20-30€ per 10 pull for us if I had to guess.

Ehh NGS has better action, satisfying counters, and x10,000 better cosmetics that are surprisingly less greedy. Can also just grind for your cosmetics by buying them from other players. And is finally starting to build up a mountain of content for a new player to do.

I’m probs not gonna play BP after watching this video but lets not lie about NGS lol. I played NGS since launch and stopped around when DF aegis came out. NGS “content” is mindless farming 100s of hours of Purples/DF/Geo all of which is not fun and instead content you do while watching shows on the side. NGS is one of the games that has ZERO content diversity

I would love to point out, I blame Ragnarok Online fame for the Endless Tower hype and addiction to go up on towers (that came from Mirage Tower from DS) on mmos and oh god, the memories of that random wipe and knowing you are locked out of repeating for a week, JRO top days were looking at hundreds of players on Alberta getting ready daily... and while pretty sure there is other games, Azure Sky tower from Boktai (2003) was hella fun and yeah pun intended for the people who know. (and while Pokemon R/B/E had a tower, no it doesn't compare mechanic wise)
Honestly the closest thing to purchasable cosmetics in an MMO I've been okay with is Guild Wars 2. And that's only because there's a ton of content for the game on the cheap. The expansions are like 30-40 USD with no subscription. And the "live service" maps/ story chapters are like 2 USD and not fomo.

As someone who played WoW for over 15 years, every time i hear someone talk about Blue Protocol, i feel like the scope of the game is to small. I don't think this will last long enough after launch. It probably will die off in a similar way like SWtOR (Star Wars MMO).

Something I noticed on the blue protocol subreddit was people complaining that they were "done with the game" so quickly (1-2 weeks after launch). And by "done" I mean max level and effectively full BiS (no money spent).
I was genuinely thrilled to see this. Because something I feel many games are defaulting to these days are the "endless loot treadmill" where you have to play for hundreds of hours to feel like you're going anywhere. I miss when you could play a game for a few weeks and just be... done. And then the content of the game is centered around you actually wanting to play the game instead of being forced to do so with constant perpetual treadmill chores.

@@BladeDevil I think the time attacks are the big reason to get full bis and keep playing. The fact there's a leaderboard for it is great.
You also have to level your other weapons. So each weapon you add on is another 2+ weeks. Personally I think the average player will take 1-2 months to "finish" their first weapon of choice and get bis.
Also, I do fully expect we'll have an additional tier or two of content by the time we get to global, which is still like half a year away.
Most people making these "complaints" played for 12+ hours a day for a week straight.

All these Asian mmo's start out relatively harmless and somewhat fun, but 2-3 years down the road and they become microtransaction hell holes with p2w pay-walls, content skipping items to instant results, as well as grinds that can last for days before seeing any incremental results if you don't rip your hair out and uninstall the game before that.
