I still prefer Warframe where its cosmetics isn't behind a gacha paywall. I guess this is the reality for Japan's MMOs. Would not be surprised if they release p2w elements in gacha in the future, like what PSO2NGS did with its Addi then Exdi augments.

Well, I spent some money in Genshin Impact, like around 300€ in almost 3 years, so not that much if you think about it, but much more than in any other game. I however learned my lesson and this game looks cool, but not to the point of spending money, just going in free to play mode for the moment.
Ye Gacha games seems to milk more for the content they actually provide , multiple times over even Tripple A + DLC games , can't really blame other companies for doing it sadge.

yes you can still get cosmetics and mounts for free there is a different shop for that which you use "blue protocol points" for that has similar things to the gacha store

Bro this game was literally straight up JP only until last TGS 😂 they dont care about the global release, it was developed with a JP audience in mind and outsourced globally to Amazon because of high demand. The game is already successful domestically

@@MorbidEel Bandai didn’t know if this game would be popular in the west until the recent insurgence in popularity. It was created for the JP audience with JP monetization, gameplay elements, and player interaction in mind
The global release date is out of their control because they weren’t expecting to release it globally, it’s not like they’re delaying it on purpose. miHoYo intended for a global release much earlier in development, and they’re a much larger company that was not only capable but also willing to pay for those servers

pso2 has gacha and its only cosmetic same as blue protocol what are you on about? unlike other gacha sht you dont have to buy the characters nor weapons to get strong or get multiple copies

Well NGS customization part on among the topvof MMORPG game... if you have the right stuff bought and they release a huge minecraft house lookalike system that allow people to go super creative on building their own personal island.
PSO2NGS is an action game with slow update interval and SEGA dev department is on fire struggling to calm people down about lack contents. But they did release an interview session admit their mistake and the feedback they get.
If you're into casual stuff wiith some good combat and customization then check it out.
It has low contents tho so treat it as casual action game thet you can leave or return at anytime

Honestly, it would be nice to see a MMO on the same level as FFXIV.
FFXIV has dominated the MMO world for the past 10 years and I was hoping for something to rival it other than stupid WOW.
Its fine for MMO's to be free and all, but I mean, you can avoid so much gacha shit if they just did a subscription based thing and then add an online store to purchase things.
I understand when you go the "free" route, a company has to make money, so of course the opt to Gacha instead of online stores where people can just buy an item for $10 and go. Making $75 right then and there, VS $10 is in terms the smarter route.
But you know, I still prefer subscription route 100%.
Other than that, I do think this game looks pretty awesome and I wish westerners had it. Either way, I think it will be successful here, even if it's arriving late. Maybe no where near FFXIV popular globally, but it will do fine I believe.
It'll be hard for anything to get to that level because there's a lot of reasons why ff is so popular like being an established ip, having a crap ton of funding, being around for 10 years, etc plus people are invested already they aren't leaving ff for the most part unless they screw something up purely due to sunk cost and their friends play the game
BP has a chance i think to maybe hit like 50k at best imo and honestly i think that's a stretch, there's not enough depth to the game rn. It reminds me of vindictus constantly grinding dungeons multiple times, its just not a great gameplay loop long-term.
If they were to add complex lifeskilling like new world or bdo at least, then maybe pvp later o think it would do well, especially since pso never had pvp and its probably it's main competitor. I just hope the game has enough players to foster a decent community and not shutdown lolol
